I also think more cheese, specifically inside the burrito rather than on the outside, would have made it taste better too. Moreover, the burrito was soggy! I was not a fan of that. The grits were also a bit too watery for me. I had to add salt and pepper, along with the butter given to me in my order, to give it some depth. While I think that this is a lovely local restaurant, the food could be better. I would give it a 2.5/5 stars if I could.

We waited for around 10 minutes talking and someone brought our dishes. My wife got her's fine and mine was something completely different. I told the person who brought it what I ordered and she said, yes that was not it. The server showed up again and said she was sorry about the "mix-up"...I don't know I am pretty clear when I order and something that has "killer and gravy" shouldn't be unclear. After more time passed the server came around again and said she would check to see what was going on....then came around again to say "it's still not here?" No, it was not there or I would be eating it. After I want to say around 15 minutes passed I finally got the food and had to chow it down because we needed to be someplace before the rain was going to start. But then the server came over and said to my wife (not me), I took the dish off you didn't order. Really, you took the dish off I dish I didn't order and charged me FULL price for the order I did and then no further discount....how nice of you. There was no manager to be seen or I would have said something then, but then my wife said don't, so I didn't and now this is the review that the Frothy Rooster gets because the server needed a clue and then did not do anything except make a good breakfast bad. Then she told him "Well, it's because we have two dishes called killer" , he made it very clear though that he wanted the sausage biscuit one, not the pancake one. We understand that too, but the problem was that we had to wait a long long time for them to bring the right dish to him. Then at the end she brought over the Bill and made a weird point that she didn't charge us for the wrong dish... Wow really? thank you for not charging us for the wrong dish! I think maybe she's new to waitressing. Anyway, it put a damper on our experience there. But weirdly, I would still recommend this place to people, just based on the food.

When we decided on this location, we called ahead and were told no reservations we taken, first come first served. So with the twins and their cousin, we had 3 9-month old babies. Very aware of the complexity of this, we brought hook on chairs and arrived around 5:00. The hostess tried to seat us at a much too small table in the back room, and when we inquired about a larger one, we were told it was "reserved ". . We were seated in a long booth in the bar. The waitress seemed very rushed and upon first visit to table asked if we were ready to order. We were not told of any specials, etc. Good news was that we had decided to be ready and get our full orders in quickly. We ordered an appetizer and cocktails to begin, which came out quickly. My Son in law asked for a fairly plain burger, but wondered if fried onions which were listed on another burger could be added. Waitress said " prob not... but I'll ask". It did not come with the added onions. I asked for my favorite pizza.. she said there's no pizza tonight. While waiting on food, we asked for a couple of orange slices, which we had taken from cocktails to entertain/feed the babies. Waitress said they couldn't do that because the oranges are for the bartender garnishes. I asked for another cocktail with extra oranges and thankfully was given one extra sliver. When our meal was finished, our curt waitress asked if we needed anything else, so we just asked for the check. No suggestion of dessert, etc. We were never visited by the manager to see how all was going... because if so I would have asked if this was establishment policy or simply a rude waitress. We tipped 15%... and let that be it. Note that the babies were fantastic... very little fussing at all. We kept all except the floor cleaned up after them. On our way out... we seemed to be on the waitress's way... she never said anything like have a good night, etc... but shouted "Behind you!" twice on her way to deliver another table's food, and as we were getting out of her way to leave. However it lacked flavor and if i hadn't added the sauce it wouldn't have had any taste. The shared potatoes were just ok. Our food was cold, service was slow, portions were lacking, and our bill was over $180 with tip.
