Great place to grab a steak and great service! We go here every year for my birthday and Father's Day and I have never been disappointed.

Visited here with a group and based on the parking lot it looked like we would have to wait. We were seated right off and Camry was our server. Greeted us quickly and made sure we had drinks ordered, bread and butter served- and the shrimp appetizer with cherry peppers. All came out and were crowd pleasers. I went with the Burger with Swiss and bacon and fries with a side of the sauce that comes with the fried onions. Camry was great, the food was cooked well and we were in and out of there quickly. Longhorn is one of our favorite lunchtime restaurants and we find the consistency of the food and friendly service to be exceptional. Today however we were terribly disappointed in both the food and the service. First we were sat at a terrible table, high traffic area, half booth half chairs. OK, we didn't complain although the room was not very crowded and we could have requested a different table. The hostess did not give us a lunch menu even though it was around noon, so we had to go up and ask for one. The server took our orders and returned with bread and our drinks. The food came out relatively quick but not as we ordered and the soup was cold. We explained it to the waitress and she went for the manager. We explained the issues to the manager and he didn't offer a suitable resolution. So we declined and left. This is untypical of this chain even amongst various locations. The staff seem to be new and inexperienced. Longhorn is a successful chain restaurant and we happily spend our money but expect quality food and professional service. It would not have hurt for the manager to apologize for the mistakes and promptly remove the incorrect order and offer to replace it and perhaps free of charge to keep long time customers satisfied. But not this time. I'm sure this was likely a one time happening, but if this happens again we will likely remove Longhorn from our choice of restaurants. read more

I will never not love Longhorn! With one of my most recent experiences, I went out for dinner immediately after my graduation with my parents, maternal grandparents, and one of my best friends. I even wore my grad hat into the restaurant for the fun of it. Bestie and I ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken, hers with asparagus and fries, mine with mac and cheese (no bacon). As per usual, the food was total perfection, chicken was juicy and cheesy, and Mac and cheese was ooey, gooey, and delicious! It was my bestie's first ever time at Longhorn and she absolutely loved it to say the least. The waiter who delivered our food was so nice and even took a photo of all of us with our food so that we could truly treasure the memory. To top off the experience, A waitress even saw my graduation hat and brought me a free ice cream sundae! Shared it with bestie and we both loved it. Ice cream tasted like vanilla bean and was super rich, and it was topped with caramel and chocolate sauces and whipped cream! Yummy! And the restaurant was nice and quiet too, not too loud, so we were all able to enjoy our food in peace! Longhorn, you're the best!! Thank you for this wonderful experience--and for my free treat! Went for an early supper, seated immediately. Our server was spot on with drink orders. Warm bread was brought with our drinks. We ordered the same thing only I got the 9 oz filet and my wife got the 6 oz. Loaded baked potatoes, chopped house salads and sauteed mushrooms extra. Salads came within minutes of ordering. Nice size, not to little, not too big. Our main course came just about the time we finished our salads, perfect timing. Steaks were super tender and cooked as ordered, medium rare. We went to here for dinner on a Sunday evening at 5:00. The restaurant was busy with several parties waiting. The hostesses weren't as friendly as I'm accustomed to at most places, especially the Longhorn I go to in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The server was good, but honestly got much better when one of our appetizers was taken to another table by another server. He said he talked to the manager about getting it removed from the bill. I've been to Longhorn a number of times both to dine in or to pick up. The food is usually pretty good. The last steak I got was noticeably thinner than usual but tasty. I've found that most restaurants over the years, in general, have gone down in quality of food but still tasty because of the economy. Still I would recommend Longhorn. The service is usually good. I don't recommend weekends when it's crowded though. read more

I thought I'd been to a longhorns before but once I sat down I thought maybe not. It's one of those places you just see everywhere and then you feel you know it. So I guess first experience review haha. The parking lot was FULL. On a Wednesday. I checked online (was waiting in car for partner) and it said no wait. So we enter. And there are a ton of people. But guess what?! No wait. :) The server seats us and brings the bread. Why are breads like this so hard to stop eating? The warmth? The accessibility? The butter? We may never know. We got water and I added electrolytes to mine. The server asked if I got water and then when I said yes he fills up the cup without asking diluting the mix I made. Honestly the poor guy was nice but scattered the whole time. I got the strawberry salad and the chowder. It was cold- inside and out so the chowder was my feels like soup weather choice. Small shrimp and lacking in flavor but cozy and nourishing nonetheless. My partner got the LH burger with fries and it was standard good. They forgot my salad. When they finally brought out my salad late (he said they were chopping the berries- seriously?!) it was delicious. For $6 this was a steal. Think they messed up but I'll take it. Good cheese, nuts and fruit. Appropriate levels of dressing. We ended with strawberry shortcake. Nice and simple. Lighter but not impressive. Very white berries on that though. Oh well- it's winter I guess. Our total was only $36. We asked if we could leave a tip with a gift card as we'd like to give the server the rest (card was for $50). He said yeah and then disappeared. We were waiting to sign but I guess it wasn't needed? Again, bit of a scattered dude. The place was clean sans some restroom tp and poor looking stalls. Here are a few things to consider when you find out a restaurant does not take reservations. They are going to make it as hard as they possibly can for you get to get a table First, there will not be enough parking and they will be overloaded, Second the waiting list is going to be very long which will be uncomfortable for you when you are expecting to go there to eat instead of wait. Third, I have even seen them deny seating people, until all members of the party have arrived. I cannot believe how everything is so broken down, dismantled, disorganized, and fragmented these days. My husband and I just moved to the area. We've been remodeling our kitchen and will be for months (modest renovation but decision-making impasse) so we eat out often. This evening we had one of our best meals so far, at the Longhorn. First, I liked the atmosphere. Our seats were comfy bench seats. We could hear each other talk, we weren't competing against a wall of noise. It was a weeknight, and although the place was busy we were seated immediately without waiting. Our waitress, Alex, had an outstanding personality. We liked the menu; I have celiac disease so I am often left eating just salad because everything has gluten or dairy. I had lots of choices here because they can leave butter off. My salmon was perfect but the Brussels sprouts in a honey crackle sauce was the star. I was able to order a tall glass of Bonanza Cabernet (Alex said, "You go, girl!") And it was jammy and yummy. My husband ordered steak (he loved the seasoning) and a loaded baked potato so large it looked like a potato bowl. His favorite, though, was the corn on the cob with a crema sauce and seasoning. Really unique. Alex said that she loved that sauce and maybe she could get the recipe? She found out from the kitchen where we can buy it. Our last meal before we leave North Carolina and this LongHorn steakhouse sure did deliver! We ordered the steak with Lobster and the signature "LongHorn" steak! We knew from a previous meal at a LongHorn in Texas that the seasoning tends to be "bold" for our taste. (Salty) we advised our server Dominic this and she was sure to have the seasoning adjusted to "light seasoning ". The salads and warm bread arrived and it was delicious ! Then came the main meals. Sadly the lobster was undercooked and my LongHorn signature steak was not medium rare as I asked for but more Medium well. Dominic our server immediately had both dishes fixed to our liking with a new lobster tail grilled to perfection and a new LongHorn signature steak (exactly medium rare) with fresh new sides within minutes to our table!
