Service was terrible, food was worse, everything was dirty and greasy. Would not recommend.

I can forgive many things. My family went to this restaurant this morning, and our experience could not have been worse. After being seated it took 20 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge my family (grandparents, parents in law, my wife, and my infant son). After finally taking our order it took an hour and 10 minutes for our food to get to our table. They were busy, which I am willing to overlook. What I am NOT okay with is the waitress bringing our hot food and holding the tray DIRECTLY OVER MY SLEEPING INFANT SON. I moved my hand out to signal to her that this was not acceptable, but she was either too indifferent or dense to notice this. For the icing on the cake, my food was somehow both burnt and cold. I will not be eating at this restaurant or any other Bob Evans so long as I live. I hope this review reaches as many people as possible. 0 stars. read more

What are you bad star reviews talking about !!!! This is the best Bob Evans I have ever been to! The portion sizes, the biscuits were so salty in a good way and tasted like made from scratch (could've fooled me), my waitress I wish I could remember her name she was nice, attentive and I've never been asked before if I wanted refills to go... that was great of her. I wasn't waiting long at all for food. The high chair was clean which was a huge bonus. We WILL be back! We drove 40 minutes to visit the AHA! kids museum in Lancaster so next time we make the drive we will stop here for dinner afterwards. read more

Worst dining experience I've ever had. We had a party of three, so we did not have a large party. There were multiple tables seated, got their food, finished their meal, and left before we even got our meal. I cannot speak to the food, as we never received it. When I spoke to a manager, I was told that of the two teams cooking, we got the slow one...she would check on our order. Five minutes later, still no food...we left and I'll never be back. read more

I had Bob Evans for the first time ever today and the caramel mocha was everything I've ever wanted in my entire life. I had 4. Roy was the best conversationalist and has become my best friend! I will be returning just to talk to Roy. Classiest joint to be placed on God's green earth. Things were a bit chaotic at this location. I went on New Year's Day and apparently their delivery truck was late so they were out of a lot of things. First I asked for coffee and my waitress went to 4 empty tables to collect cream for me because they had no more. Which I did appreciate. Later my waitress apologized and told me that she had forgotten to put my order in so my coffee was free for my inconvenience. I appreciated her honesty. Then I asked for ketchup and my waitress again had to hunt tables for ketchup and then later asked me if I was done with it so she could give it to someone else. I've never tried the eggs Benedict before. It was good. My experience, though different, was good. My waitress was sweet and quirky. read more

Now keep in mind it's hard to eat lo cal here, but if you get the large salads, it's possible- the dressings always come on the side. Despite the all-around averageness of Bob Evans, I love it- I personally think of the food as good and comforting- and I can't recall ever having a bad experience at this one! The environment is friendly, the floor layout is smart and efficient in my opinion. The service is average. This visit I got the 3-course dinner with salad and chicken and the unlimited rolls... The rolls of course are AWESOME. Too good for the good of your health or your appetite, you know? Haha. The chicken was a little bit of a let down but good enough. The salad was fresh, crisp, and super yummy! When it was time for dessert I ordered a sundae and they wound up not having enough ice cream for a full sized sundae so they gave me a mini sundae plus two cookies to take home! I really appreciated that. I love the generosity they show with to-go drinks and I enjoy that you can buy their baked goods to take home. Good stuff! Recent we went to Bob evans in Lancaster Ohio. After we were seated, we sat for approximately ten minutes without a waitress coming to our table . The waitress that was working our section was right across the aisle from us having a conversation laughing and joking around with two other people . I finally interrupted their conversation and ask to be waited on . The waitress was obviously upset about that , because she was rude and very short with us. When our food , finally arrived , it was cold and tasteless! We sent it back, and of course was meet with rudeness and an attitude! The waitress never checked on his the rest of the time , but did have time to continue her fun conversation with the other couples table ! And I might add , the tables were dirty, the seats , partitions , floors, and the eating area in general was dirty! I told the cashier about our bad experience and she did knock off the price of one of our meals ! This used to be a nice place . Within the last year it has gone down hill ! Today I have experienced the worst food ever, I had not visited this restaurant in over 10 years and I realized why. The server (Heather) was great and attentive throughout our time there so she gets 5 stars; however the food was cold and tasteless, the Biscuits and rolls were dry and cold, after a 45 min waiting for the food to come out; and this was after the lunch rush. The restaurant was not that busy, to justify the extended wait, which cause my 2 year old to ask for us to go home. We never saw a manger. Went to Bob Evans this morning for a late breakfast. It seems the Lancaster Ohio location doesn't have the same standards as other locations. It is always a ten to fifteen minute wait for a server to arrive to the table. Today's server didn't want to take the food order before she took and served our beverage order. Her rational was it gave us more time to look over the menu. We were ready when we say down, my wife and I are creatures of habit we always order the same thing when we eat breakfast at Bob Evan's. The beverage service for two waters and a child's milk was the quickest thing to happen today. My wife ordered a Border Scramble Omelet, I ordered a Farmers Breakfast with bacon, hash browns, a side of French toast and and extra side of Biscuits and gravy, and our daughter was ordered a child's breakfast platter. Her meal arrived first after only a 23 minute wait. My wife's Omelet and part of my meal came 11 minutes later. Another 11 minutes and three trips later, the other two strips of bacon, French Toast and biscuits and gravy arrived. Somewhere in there the server gave me a water refill. After watching my wife grimace in disgust when she took her first few bites of her Omelet, I asked if it was ok. She said she didn't think she was given the right Omelet. She gave me a taste and it was awful. When the server passed I called to her and asked if the Omelet we received was the Border Scramble Omelet. She turned to look at it, nodded, and said ' Yep, it sure is", then turned around and walked away before we could tell her it was awful. The Border Omelet served to my wife consisted of eggs, sausage chunks, a few huge onion pieces, a ton of hard partially cooked potatoes, and canned stewed tomatoes. It had a bitter bland flavor of stewed tomatoes. This Omelet is prepared differently at every other Bob Evans we visit. Normally there is cheese inside the egg, fresh scallions, peppers, jalapeño peppers, and a real live "Zesty Ranchero Sauce" . Today's Border Scramble Omelet looks like it was tossed together with whatever they had laying around. We wouldn't see our server again for another 38 minutes. We didn't get the opportunity to ask for a replacement omelet she was either no where in sight or engaged in lengthy conversations with other patrons. We eventually had to interrupt her conversation with other patrons after waiting another 18 minutes to get the bill from her. I complained to the cashier and then the manager about the service and the food. Both appeared to be equally uninterested in my negative dining experience. The cashier stopped being friendly and retrieved a manager who never looked at me and responded with "I'm sorry you feel that way" to my negative comments. There only seemed to be a concern about making sure I paid my bill as the manager asked if I still needed to pay. There was more interest in collecting money than hearing my complaint. This location has been like this for years, the servers and management appear to only care about the regular patrons. Our server and the manager spent a lot of time chatting with the same people at various tables who appeared to tip rather well when they left. Pretty disappointing visit that lasted just under two hours. It irritates me that my wife ended up eating the slop she was served because we didn't have the time to get it replaced because our server went out of her way to ignore or avoid us. To date management has never contacted us about our dining experience or to discuss our complaints. It appears there is no interest in improving their products or service provided at the Lancaster, Ohio restaurant. read more

Have had many bad experiences with Bob Evans being very slow with our pick up order to not bringing a meal when two of us go out. Tonight my husband picked up dinner because my stomach was upset and I wanted noodles and mashed potatoes. We requested they pack them separately as the potatoes are liquid if they don't. Well the potatoes tonight were actually cold. Not cool, but cold as if they came directly from the refrigerator. I called and they did offer a new meal but that would take us another 40 minutes to pick it up and bring it home and then my husbands meal would be cold. We all ordered and when asked what type of breads we wanted we always get an assorted basket. Our waitress informed us there was an up charge. My "fruit filled" crepe came plain, no fruit whatsoever so I used the cut mango in my fridge -not the best! Also, my crepe was CUT IN HALF to fit in the to go box! We went to Bob Evans recently for the broasted chicken. The waitress took our order but came back after a minute or so stating she forgot that we could not get it until after 4PM cause it was a weekday. WTF? They brag about their broasted chicken but don't have faith in it to offer it for lunch or even from 1PM. And what's with the small portion size of the mashed potatos? We had been to BE several times because we had coupons but we will probably go back to Frischs were we can get the food we want when we want it and get a goodly portion. My favorite things at Frischs is the openfaced roast beef sandwish, it's so much better than the small portions at Bob Evans. read more

My husband and I normally really like this restaurant, but our experience today was less than great. It was very dirty looking and we had to ask the server 3 times for clean silverware. The booth was splashed with dried milk and the window between the booths was covered with fingerprints and smears. We witnessed the busboy not wipe the tables after clearing them and then the hostess seated those tables placing placemats over the dirt. The bathrooms were also dirty. In spite of all that, the food was still good. But seeing all the dirt makes it hard to go back to enjoy meals in the future. :( read more

I can't in all good conscience give this place a rating, it was so poor. We have been to this particular restaurant many times and NEVER seen it in such a state or had such poor service. It was about 5:30pm, and not very busy at all. We were seating on the far east side of the place and I notice the filthy, unswept floor when I first walked in. Since we were without pepper at our table and our waitress was busy chatting on and on and on and on, I finally got up to get some from another table. On my way back I could see under our table was a fork, napkin, food, placemat, etc. There was not a clean place to put my feet. Had I seen it when we were seated we would have left right then, but we had already ordered. I was watching a busboy cleaning off a table and just swiping all the crumbs onto the floor! He never came back to sweep it up. Then the waitress kept returning to chat, which is very annoying when I'm trying to have dinner. Come back once and check on the meal, then leave me in peace. I did tell her I'd like some more water, which took her a few trips to remember. The peanut butter brownie she brought was hard as a rock and had no whipped cream as the description indicated.
