We visited Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill during 614 Restaurant Week, and I think this is one of the better values offered this week. For $20, you get a starter, an entrée, and a dessert, which is hard to beat. The restaurant was quiet without feeling empty, and the background music was just loud enough to create a nice atmosphere while still allowing us to have a conversation. The dining room and the restroom were both clean, which I always appreciate. Our server, Liz, was the highlight of the visit. She was prompt, attentive, and refreshingly honest when I asked about menu substitutions. Instead of saying everything on the menu was great just to make a sale, she gave genuine recommendations, and I really appreciated that. She also stayed on top of our drinks, bringing refills before we ever had to ask. She checked on us several times throughout the meal without being intrusive. We ordered the Cookie Skillet for dessert, and she waited until we were actually finished eating before bringing it out so the ice cream wouldn't melt. It's those little details that make a difference. I started with the fresh garden salad, followed by the BB-style pizza with pepperoni and sausage. At first glance, it looked like sausage only because the pepperoni is layered under the cheese. The pizza was loaded with cheese and toppings, and the crust had a nice texture. The sauce leaned more savory than sweet. I personally prefer a sweeter pizza sauce, but it was still flavorful and enjoyable. We also shared the Carolina Gold chicken chunks, onion rings, and provolone wedges. The onion rings had a nice crispy coating and actually tasted like onions, which isn't always the case. The Carolina Gold chicken chunks were generously coated in the Carolina Gold sauce, but the chicken itself was pretty bland and mostly tasted like the sauce. I also think they could have been cooked just a little longer. The provolone wedges were hot, cheesy, and tasty--it's hard to mess those up, but they definitely hit the spot. The Cookie Skillet was the perfect way to end the meal. The cookie was served warm with crispy edges and a soft, gooey center filled with melted chocolate chips. It was topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and pecans. Even though I boxed up the rest of my meal to take home, I made sure to eat the cookie while it was still warm with the melting ice cream, and I'm glad I did. It was definitely my favorite part of the meal. One small observation: the restroom doors open inward, so if you've got a big back like me, getting out can be a little awkward. Thankfully, the restroom itself was very clean. Overall, I think the 614 Restaurant Week special is a great deal. Between the generous portions, comfortable atmosphere, clean restaurant, and exceptional service from Liz, I'd definitely come back. The food wasn't perfect, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5, but I'd absolutely recommend Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill if you're looking for a casual place where you can enjoy a good meal, have a conversation, and get a lot of food for the price. read more

The economy seems to be slowly killing this place. The menu has been drastically cut down, and the Burger & Brews deal is now gone. It does sporadically pop up here and there and seems to stick around for a while, which makes me suspect it's being used as a traffic driver. Either way, draft beer is now back to regular prices. If you're into craft draft beer with a good local selection, it's still a viable option. Most craft drafts are $7 for 16 ounces and $8 for 23 ounces, which is still pretty reasonable right now but it's cheaper nearby-look around. They also have Columbus Brewing Company Bodhi and CBC IPA on draft, for the scouts out there. We tried the pork tenderloin from the Oktoberfest menu, and it was a disappointment. It came out cold and tough, with barely any gravy on the meat or mashed potatoes, along with an oddly exorbitant amount of grain mustard. My wife's spring rolls, which came out at the same time, were piping hot. Ignore entrees-just get the pizza. The food also took a long time to arrive despite the restaurant being practically empty on a Wednesday night. The bartender was nice and definitely earned them the extra star. She was handling tables as well as the bar, so credit where it's due. read more

At time of evening for a Friday night it was not busy. The hostess was friendly & so was our waitress. We had a minor issue with our seating but was accommodated when asked to be moved. Location; easy to find and plenty of parking which is always a plus. The restaurant is big with plenty of seating. Last minute decision to eat out on a Holiday and was able to get seated right away. Food/Beverage; Came in for appetizers and couple adult beverages. Ordered the Brussel sprouts, which hit the spot and loved the crisp. Also, added the buffalo and bleu cauliflower which was a pleasant surprise and really good I was worried about the bleu cheese which I am not usually a fan off. I ordered a Dirty Martini, light on vermouth and light on olive juice and its 50% wherever I go to make it how I love it, and my martini was PERFECT. Service, Our Server Aaron was great. We had to ask multiple times for things, and often didn't get them at all (refills, napkins). I think they are just really understaffed, I'm not sure, but I doubt I'll come back again to find out. She said it was one of the best she ever had it. It looked extremely large and delicious. I had the pulled pork. It was somewhat dry and it might be appealing to others, but it didn't quite appeal to me. This restaurant got a better review than my last one I gave for it. First time at this restaurant and got to experience in a big group. Sat in the tap room which is a semi private area for large groups. Menu has a wide variety of items so if you love rich carbs, this is the place for you. I'm a sucker for soup so I got the French Onion Soup and Bone In Spicy Garlic Wings. The soup temperature was lukewarm thus not able to have the cheese fully melt. It also wasn't very thick. When I thick of French onion soup, I expect a hearty dish. This was lacking. The wings were okay. They were not very saucy or spicy. Also I ordered well done and they seemed to be cooked regular. The highlight of my meal was the dirty soda I ordered which was Mtn Dew, Blue Raspberry, Coconut, and Sweet Cream. Also was disappointed we came during happy hour but they did not even start taking our order until way after Happy Hour. Beer Barrel Pizza at Easton: A Group Dinner Review Sunday night, a group of eight of us decided to check out Beer Barrel Pizza on Morse Crossing at Easton. We rolled in around 5:00 p.m., and the place wasn't exactly packed--just a few tables filled here and there. Honestly, that usually gets me excited because it means faster service and hot food. But... that wasn't exactly the case here. The Starter We kicked things off with the Barrel Bruschetta. On paper, it sounded good: diced tomatoes with basil, a balsamic vinaigrette drizzle, and cheese, served with pita bread. In reality? The vinaigrette was watered down and barely there, and the tomato mixture just sort of sat in a bowl. The pita bread with melted cheese was fine, but the whole dish was more "meh" than memorable. Nothing terrible, but nothing I'd rush to order again either. The Mains Here's where things went a little sideways. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. After waiting almost an hour for food, mine finally came out--cold. The fries were barely warm at best. Normally I'd send it back, but after waiting that long, I wasn't about to gamble on waiting another round. Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one. One friend ordered tacos, but her rice was cold. Another ordered the triple play, and his chicken chunks were cold too. When everybody's food at the table has the same issue, that's not a coincidence--it's a kitchen problem. The Service Now, credit where credit is due: our server Amanda was excellent. She was friendly, apologetic, and clearly doing her best with what she had to work with. She checked on us often and kept a smile even when we were getting frustrated. Servers like her deserve a raise--too bad the food didn't rise to the same level. The Verdict The overall food quality was... average at best. For the price, I expected better--especially at Easton, where you've got tons of other restaurants to choose from. Between the long wait, cold meals, and underwhelming appetizer, it's hard to see myself coming back anytime soon. Sometimes a place just has an off night, but when a whole table's food is cold, that's more than just a one-time fluke. Both of the times I've gotten pizza from this establishment has been doing it through a Delivery app. This gluten-free pizza is one of the best that I've ever had! Their crust was the most close to regular. The cost was a little problem though. For a three topping gluten-free pizza, it was $29 on the delivery app. It was still pricey at $28 when I did it for a possible pick up straight through their website. I understand that it cost more for them to get gluten-free crust somewhere and that is passed on to us as consumers, but still... Went with a family to this restaurant, having never been to a Beer Barrel before. The family I went with had been to other locations and frequent one close to their home and chose this based off their experiences at that location. However, the experience at the Morse Crossing location would cause me to never visit a Beer Barrel again. To set the stage arrived on a Sunday evening and the location wasn't busy. Generally a sports bar type environment would have football games on a Sunday, not the case at this location. I arrived after the local family, walked in and wasn't greeted by the two hostesses at the stand. Stood for a few seconds and decided to just find those that were already in the restaurant. Ordered a beer, which wasn't very cold which caused it to go unfinished. Two of us ordered burgers and both had the same reaction. The bun was very dry, the burger was way overcooked and the fries were lukewarm. Pizza and ribs were also ordered, but were not up to the expectations of the family based on experiences at other restaurant locations. Ribs were lukewarm and dry, mashed potatoes and mac/cheese were lukewarm as well and went unfinished. Service was good, but not great during our hmeal. Food was delivered in a decent time frame and drinks were refilled as needed. However, when we were done eating and sitting socializing (I was visiting from out of town) it felt like we were being pushed out despite the empty dining room. One person was still eating and the bus boy attempted to take a bowl of mashed potatoes that were on the table in front of a guest. Hand was nearly on the bowl as he asked , "are you done with these?" A few minutes later, we were asked if they could take our water/soda glasses despite still sitting and talking. As a former restaurant manager, our servers were trained to not take our signed credit card receipts when the customer was at the table. We paid with two tabs and I was sitting closer to the end of the table, and the water came and took mine off the table and asked the other guest to hand hers across the table. Thought maybe his shift was over and he wanted to check out. However, a table was sat behind us and he was their server as well. It was my first experience with a Beer Barrel and based off this would never visit this one or a different location. We went for a late dinner on Saturday, because it was close to our hotel. Place was fairly empty. We ordered pulled pork nachos, small Supreme pizza, and the hummus and guacamole board. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. Anyway, the nachos had congealed cheese and old pork. By old, I mean, you could tell it was the end of the pan with all the bits and crusty pieces. Well, not sure who is in the kitchen cooking, but they are putting a lot of heat (spices) on the food. As a result, it was too hot to eat so I took it home and scraped all the hot peppers off of it and it was somewhere OK afterward. We ordered two onion soup's, but only one arrived so I had to sit and wait for the next one to be finished before I could start eating. Once our food arrived, someone set it down and just walked away. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to tell the person I needed silverware because my mouth was full of salad. Therefore, we had to wait and track down our server to get utensils and napkins. And I never did get the water I asked for so my mouth is on fire, and I had nothing to drink. My hubby and I first found Beer Barrel at their NW Ohio location. We LOVED it and ate there every time we traveled up that way with travel softball. Then - miracle - Beer Barrel came to Central Ohio - the Hilliard location. We drove over there (the complete other side of town for us) on special occasions - basically hubby's birthday when he got to pick. After a few trips over west, Beer Barrel came to EASTON! Easton Town Centre is like 5 minutes from our house. Granted, it offers a LOT of restaurant choices, but we loved that this would become part of our routine. Or so I thought. Now my hubby loves everything on the menu - especially the deep dish meat lovers pizza. So many times when he's craving it, he'll get it for pick up on the way home from wherever he is. For other cravings - burgers for example - our go to is Red Robin. So for several years, my hubby continued to get to go from Beer Barrel and I never got there. So this past Saturday when we needed something to do, I suggested we eat at Beer Barrel and then check out the Easton holiday lights and mall. We went over around 6:30 PM. I thought we'd wait FOREVER with prime dinner time, sports, and holiday shoppers. But low and behold, we were willing to sit at a high top in the bar (with service) and were seated right away. BOO YAH! Our jinx of horrible service was broken and the waitress was prompt in greeting us and taking our drink orders. I got my Diet Pepsi (YES - PEPSI PRODUCTS, YAY!) and hubby just got water. Now if you read my reviews - I literally only eat SALADS. I knew from prior experience at the NW restaurant that they had a pretty good salad selection. Hubby was quick in making his selection so he ordered first - a pesto pea chicken pasta. VERY DARING for him. He's normally a straight alfredo guy. I got the Santa Fe salad which I'm pretty sure I've had before. Waitress brought the side salad for hubby and it seemed a fair serving with veggie fixings. Soon thereafter, our meals came out. His was nice large serving - as was mine. The only downside to my order - the lettuce was in big pieces. It was mixed greens so bonus points for that (not iceberg) but it was difficult getting food and lettuce (not too much of it) on my fork. For hubby's plate - it seemed to have a LOT of peas. I travel for business and eat out way too much. This location has plenty of onsite parking. There are TV's everywhere and therefore a good place for a game. The restaurant was clean from what I experienced. It was showing a little age, but not bad, just that they would need to do something next year. The menu is too big in my opinion, but the two items I ordered, spaghetti and meatballs and the supreme pizza were very good. The spaghetti sauce was a little sweet and the meatballs were a little dense, but it was solid. The pizza was expensive but also pretty good. I would love it if they had a location where I live. I would be a frequent customer. The barmaid I dealt with was attentive, but not friendly. While not busy, she was inattentive. Met 2 friends here for dinner. We split a 14 inch pizza, had 2 appetizers and 4 beers. The total before tip was $77 and change. The food was all good, standard type food that you would find at Applebees or Chilis. Food prices seemed ok, and the beers were about $7.50 each, The location is quite large, with different levels and areas, making it feel smaller than it actually is. The fireplace was nice, but we couldn't get a table near it, Our server was patient and kept checking on us, as we were there for a while, talking and enjoying our time together. Entree 12" thin crust margherita pizza. This was so disappointing. The crust was rock hard. 10" two topping was so much better. So soft and cheesy. Dessert Buckeye blitz. Delicious! We walked in around 745p Saturday and stood by the sign "wait to be seated" the restaurant was maybe 30% full. We waited about 15 min and someone said you need something? Yes, we would like a table, he then realized the hostess hadn't showed up. He apologized and sat all 4 of us promptly. We sat down and looked over the menu and he took the drink order, by this time it's 830-ish and the place is empty, our table of 4 with another table of 6 and a table for 2. We ordered our food and that's the last time we saw the waiter, the food came 55 min later, the order was wrong and drinks were empty. He came to ask if we got everything and got us refills. My grilled chicken was breaded, the burger my son ordered wasn't correct but my wife and daughters was correct. The chicken was bland and cold, the burger was good, kids Mac and cheese was good and my wife's pizza was great. The service is beyond horrible and I am a patient person. I would have walked out after 45 min of waiting and no waiter checking in on us but my 9 year old daughter said it would be embarrassing lol. The inside of the restaurant looks like an old champs. The one in plain city had great service and food, will not be back to Easton, to many food choices in the area and can't imagine this makes it that slow on a Saturday unless some big changes happen. read more

I'm always hesitant to judge a place based on their Restaurant Week prix fixe, but BBPG is famous for their pizzas--and damn, for $15 you could order an appy, pizza & dessert! I was hesitant to dine in, but they were good about sitting parties every other table and the staff was good about masks over their nostrils. I started with the Buffalo & Bleu Caulis! So good. Got the spiciness I needed but not the grease for a starter. I recommend. 10" pizza with two toppings for round 2--I picked Italian sausage and mushrooms. Never had their pizza before and I really, really enjoyed it. It so reminded me of Pizza Hut in a good way sans all the oil and frozen topping-ness. Because of the cushiony crust, I honestly didn't mind the party cut. (Being a transplant in Ohio, I prefer a pie cut always on these thinsies crusts.) I could only eat about a third of my pizza when our server came around for desert. So I took my cheesecake to go as well as my pizza leftovers. Restaurant Week is always an intro to a restaurant for me as I try to pick places I've never been. In looking at their regular (very extensive) menu, I'll be ordering take out very soon. read more

I placed, and paid for, my order online right when I was leaving work, so the order would be ready and I could head home. When I arrived I waited while the hostess finished cleaning and stacking menus to let her know I had a pick up order. I signed for my credit card payment, which I made online, and I waited for her to return with my food. She came back with the wrong order. After further investigation, my order was given to someone else. I was told it would be at least 15 minutes for a new order, and did I mind waiting. I waited between 15-20 minutes and the manager, Jessica, brought my order. She assured everything was correct. The pizza did have the extra cheese I ordered, however it was missing the extra pepperoni I ordered, and paid extra for. I called the store, spoke with Jessica, and she stated she made my order and she did infact make it correctly. While she was pleasant, the experience was lack luster and and full of inconveniences. I was not looking for a full refund, but compensation for the extra time spent waiting for their error and the fact that there was NOT extra pepperonis no matter what was said. My family and I stopped in on a Friday night after my husband's soccer game at the Resolut. We saw Beer Barrel and decided to stop in and give it a try. The restaurant is really nice, decorated for Christmas and the layout looked spacious. We loved the decor and the hostess was extremely kind. we had to wait maybe 20 minutes, but for a Friday night that seems menial. The waiting area is nice and open. Once seated in a booth, we looked through the menu - it reminded me of a basic BJs Brewhouse. I had high hopes for the pizza since it's in the name. My husband and I started out with a beer and my son had a pink lemonade! All the drinks were great. Our server was really kind and she took the time to answer questions we had on the draft beers. We got my son the kid's spaghetti & meatball meal and he loved it! The serving was pretty large for a 5yo but he absolutely loved it especially the huge meatball! I had a thin & crispy margherita pizza and my husband had the Beer Barrel deep dish with added pepperoni and sausage. I didn't know what to expect for the thin & crispy crust but definitely wasn't expecting a cracker crust. While the crust matched the menu description, I can't say the flavor of the pizza was anything to write home about. It was fairly bland and the pizza was lukewarm, at best. My husband said his deep dish was ok. It tasted good but wasn't the best (he has high standards with Giordano's). I think we were both thrown by the crusts. The best way we could describe it is either a Saltine or plain matzah bread. Very crispy! But bland. I'd go back to give it another try but I definitely would not go there for pizza. read more
