I enjoyed this restaurant. The name is very odd, but it's a nice place with extremely kind staff. I had a burger that was pretty good. A double patty smash burger style. The tomatoes on the burger were diced, not sliced. I've never had them that way, but it worked. The french fries were really just about perfect. They were as fresh as could be and had a subtle seasoning similar to Grippos chips, but more subdued. Lots of menu choices including vegetarian options. Parking was decent and there was plenty of seating available inside, which made for a comfortable arrival. I stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch. The place wasn't crowded--just two staff members were present--but it did take a little while to be acknowledged. There was someone ahead of me who I thought was in line, but he was actually waiting on a DoorDash order. It seemed like the staff were preoccupied with that, which delayed them noticing new customers walking in. According to my husband, the menu changes frequently. I browsed a bit and decided to go with a classic chicken cheesesteak--just mayo and banana peppers. I got it as a combo with a drink and onion rings. They only offered soda or water for drinks, and I do wish there was an alternative like juice or tea. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much since we're not in Philly--but let me tell you, that first bite changed everything! The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the cheese was just right, and the bread was the perfect texture--not too soft, not too hard. It was seriously delicious. Saw this was nearby and had a little extra time. The menu and reviews looked interesting. And it pretty much does have all "your faves." Burgers, subs, wings, Chinese, some Somali stuff, and more. And it's made to order, whatever way you'd like to customize it. I got a box, which is a combo of a main dish, two sides, and a drink. I chose a smashburger, which was two patties plus whatever toppings you want. I got the cheese sticks because someone said they were good, and rice and beans. The burger was excellent. A top 10 for me. Really. Two perfectly cooked patties. Good toppings, interesting sauce, (I tried their house sauce.) Good bun. Held together in a neat little foil wrapper so even though it was kind of messy looking it was not at all messy to eat. The rice and beans were very good. Cheese sticks were excellent. Three or four good sized ones, gooey inside, perfectly crispy outside. And all for $10! They are raising prices soon, but I don't know how much. The drinks, you get basically a choice of lemonades with a combo; I tried the mango and the watermelon. Really liked the mango, watermelon was fine. Or you can pay extra for bottled drinks. No soda fountain. Again, $10, and I was stuffed, I really couldn't finish the cheese sticks and the rice and beans. It's not a fancy place, but there's plenty of room and plenty of seating options. Lots of windows. It took 15 minutes or so, but it was made to order and at 12:30, They were slammed, and there seems to be only one person there. She was hustling. And careful and efficient and professional and still had a good attitude. But they need another person at peak times. The ambiance is casual and place to hangout. The food was made to order. I love the menu that it is so massive and you have so many options and choices. When I tried this place, I think it was pretty new so likely understaffed leading to out food being 30-40 minutes delayed on top of the 30 minute wait. They were very nice and apologetic and gave me free tea while I waited. The food overall was pretty good. The cheese fries is with freshly melted cheese. The wraps were good too. All the food was incredibly heavy. I felt pretty disgusting afterwards, but that may be the point. It was good overall, but I don't really crave it often due to the aftermath feeling. From the outside coming in there's a familiarity to this spot. Reminds me of the bodegas in all the major cities. May not have the best aesthetic but really it's all about the food they have to offer. I suggest going for their classics like the smash burger. Seasoned well and cooked to perfection. This is an easy 5 stars. The gentleman working the counter was so helpful with his suggestions, the flavors were fantastic, and we got a ton of food for the cost (in fact, I hope they raise their prices because I want them to stick around). I had the Somali rice with grilled chicken and the toppings he suggested (onions, peppers, corn, and cilantro). I couldn't decide on a sauce, so I chose all three that he recommended (southwest ranch, green chili, fav sauce). It was absolutely amazing! My son got a side of mac and cheese, which was a huge portion and came with a light sprinkle of cilantro...so good! My daughter got a kids meal of hot dog and fries, and even those tasted better than the average kids meal. We also got the watermelon lemonade and the mango lemonade, both of which were fantastic. Plenty sweet, but not overly sweet and not super syrupy. Inside, I would consider it to be a divey sort of place. They're just starting out, so it looks like they made their investments where they could. With the attention to detail they place on the flavors, I have no doubt they could make the inside really great with more resources. Overall, I highly recommend this place. The attitude from the lady/owner was very disrespectful. I brought my family and friends to try the restaurant. My two 11 year old kids had to watch soft porn playing on the tv in the restaurant. When my brother asked for a refill of lemonade he was told that because he threw his cup away he would have to purchase another. When he said he was unaware of the refill policy the lady/owner decided to voice that she hasn't been paid in 4 months. The sauce they use to add a touch of sweet to the spicy chicken will make you salivate! The cheesy fries and Smash Burger hit the spot. Don't skip your the side sauces. They are fantastic. The menu boards display no prices. The organization of the menu leaves much to be desired. Their custom juices exist, that is the kindest feedback I can give about them, they are a presence and not in a good way. One was extremely sweet the other super sour. The grilled cheese was garlicky and two gooey slices of cheddar on large sourdough slices grilled on the griddle. The Mac and cheese was a massive container of mixed cheeses that could easily feed three. The assorted chips were a decent variety. The decor was quite cafeteria, almost intentionally so. The service is friendly and the atmosphere has a "chill" vibe with game systems for the kids to play. Best part is that it was all halal! I went here for lunch. In addition to wings, they serve Somali foods. They had Somali rice plate, Somali chicken plate. These come with rice, meat, and salad. You can also get vegetarian which is what I did. They also have Somali chicken sambusa and Somali beef sambusa. On the door they advertise veggie sambusa. But they don't actually have any. That was disappointing. But the sambusa weee excellent and crispy and perfectly spiced. I had asked for a carry out, but decided to eat there when I got the food. When the owners saw me eating there, they brought me a pineapple Jarito and didn't accept payment for it, and called me "sister". I was really touched. The place is very clean and the owners are friendly and professional. I had a very bad experience at a Somali restaurant called Darbo. The first one that I sat on, the seat actually fell off of the chair frame. The tables were not clean. The Smashburger I had was so delicious, probably one of the best burgers I've had recently. The fries were thick and crispy, and the side salad was a large portion and full of flavor. Everything was worth the stop and worth going back for, especially the Somali rice. Stopped in after a long exhausting day, in the mood for something different than the typical fare along East Broad St. Saw All Ur Favs and thought why not. The owner greeted me and explained how things worked. It was a little overwhelming at first, but he walked me through the many selections and how you could pretty much combine them into whatever you felt like. I watched him make 2 absolutely awesome looking (and smelling) Smash Burgers. They will be on my list of "things to try" soon. I ended up getting a combo bowl that had a bit of a Greek edge to it. The vegetables were sooo fresh and what was supposed to be crunchy was! The big chunks of chicken breast were sautéed with fresh veggies and spices right in front of me.
