I had the Pick 2 Combo and it was pretty good. I had the broccoli cheese soup and 1/2 chicken salad sandwich. I am not a fan of onions and the chicken salad had red onions in it. I also think the sandwich would be better if the bread was toasted. I didn't ask ahead of time so that is my fault about the onions and bread. My husband had the STF omelette which had spinach, tomatoes, and Feta cheese folded inside. He wished there were more tomatoes in it. His hash browns were crispy and good. The server was quick and attentive to our needs. The restaurant was about half full for lunch yet it was still pretty easy to carry on a conversation. I will come again. I'm not sure how this place didn't have better reviews. Had such a great experience here for breakfast! The hollandaise sauce was honestly the best I've ever had--perfectly rich and flavorful. I ordered the avocado Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. The skillet meal was also really good, and even the kids meals were a hit, which is always a win. Easy on and off from I-71. Cute cafe with friendly waitress. My Sunny Street Benedict was perfect cooked both the eggs and the toasted English muffin. I always order my hollandaise sauce on the side as I don't like when they drench it. It was delicious as some sauces can be too lemony! My hubby's omelette was huge. Sausage gravy was good. We have been to Sunny Street many times with a great experience. The past two visits have been a little different. It seems that you only get good service if you are a regular. Our server took 10 minutes to greet us, after she got drinks and put in the order for a table that sat down after us. I wish the the service was consistent throughout. Bad idea, we got a small table for two, half on a pad, half off, next to the server station. Ok. Ordered, Simple items so it would be easy to prepare. Banana bread oatmeal and chicken salad sandwich. Although they were not super busy on a Tuesday, our food took an eternity to arrive, so much so, we asked for take out containers when our meal arrived. (BTW, we had to wait on chips that went with the chicken sandwich, which came out burnt and unsalted.) To be fair, they were nice, just incompetent. Pretty "okay" experience with Sunny Street Cafe. It's never been bad, but we've never been blown away. Indoor experience feels a bit cramped, but the service is really friendly, and they're very focused on being a pleasant and conversational place where you can feel at-home as a regular. This restaurant has a mixture of booths and arm-less chairs and tables inside. The outside tables have arms on them, but there are umbrellas that can be used for shade. The restaurant definitely feels on the "cramped" side if you're someone who likes to have space. PROS: -Portions are very workable. We left here very full and ready for a nap. You may/may not need a take-home container. -Cinnamon roll pancakes are really, really yummy - basically dessert for breakfast. They're very sweet, and they come with a cinnamon-roll-esque icing/frosting. It really feels like a laid-flat cinnamon roll. Very good. -Service was really good. I'm sure they're as short-staffed as everywhere right now, but we didn't find much of a problem with service. It was relatively quick, semi-fast, and we had drink refills before our cups were even half-empty. Very friendly server too! CONS: -I'm not sure if it's a hold-over from the pandemic, but all of the toppings/condiments were served to us, dine-in, in the plastic to-go containers. If the goal is to reduce contamination by sharing common ketchup/salt/pepper shakers at the tables, I get it, but I don't understand why they couldn't be served in small, reusable condiment bowls instead of single-use plastics that are going straight into the garbage/recycling. -Food is a bit pricy. Expect to be in the $9.50-$12.50 range per plate. -Restaurant feels very cramped and tight. Most walkways are single-person walkways unless you wanna touch a stranger and tables are squished in together. However, the restaurant noise level isn't particularly loud; it's still pretty reasonable in volume even when every table was taken up. Maybe because people tend to be calmer in the mornings. -I wasn't really fond of my Veggie Omelette. Ok so my my husband had a doctor's appointment at the hospital nearby in Grove City last week and had fasting blood work done and by the time we got out of there he was practically hangry, so was I as I had only a small bowl of instant oatmeal before we left at 6 am. We both agreed the other chain places just didn't sound good at the time so Sunny Street it was for us! We were seated immediately and Christina was our server. She was very friendly and prompt with serving us. I ordered coffee and eggs avocado Benedict and my husband ordered the Denver omelette. My food definitely hit the spot -it was really delicious and hubby devoured his omelette. They have flavored creamers available which I thought was a nice touch as most places only offer plain creamer with sugar or sweetener. Husband said his orange juice tasted almost like freshly squeezed. They have a great variety on their menu and I see where there is also lunch available. I cannot wait to go back! Got chicken noodle soup and avocado toast with mushrooms. The service was okay BUT the toast is supposed to come with queso and salsa. It didn't. It was so bland I ate one mushroom and didn't even take another bite because they were awful. The bread was wet and soggy and it smelled terrible. I think they rushed because it was 2:00 but they definitely could've just said no rather than take MORE THAN $10 of my dollars. Idk. They didn't even add the ingredients that came on the toast. It was quite literally unseasoned egg whites, unseasoned avocado and mushrooms on wet bread. Salt and pepper were nowhere to be seen. Pico was nowhere to be seen. Queso was nowhere to be seen. Very disappointed as I'm here out of state for work with all the flooding going on and don't have time to go back or even get more food from somewhere else. Just a complete waste of time and money. I would give zero stars if I could. We have been there a few times and liked the food, service was good. Last Sunday we went there, they were very busy so we sat at the counter right in front of where the food comes out and could see into the kitchen. Will not be going back. Food sat up there forever, including ours for ten minutes while our server walked by it 7 times. Flies landing on food. Very messy behind counter stuff sitting out everywhere that should be in refrigerator. An employee was eating pancakes behind the counter by the coffee. Another employee sneezed right over a full tray of drinks, did not cover her face, and served the drinks without remaking. A server brought a bowl of cream and sugar back from a table, threw the cream out but put the sugar packets back for reuse.... That's a "No" even when we are not in a pandemic. Our server was nice but may have been in charge or something because she was too busy to give good service. Took ten minutes after my wife got her meal to get the toast that came with it. I picked 5 pieces of brown rotting lettuce out of my side salad. I asked for a To go box when we got the check, waited 10 minutes trying to get her attention, and just left... the turkey sandwich was chewy and the bread was moist. A gentleman maybe the manager came out and was telling our server that they had to remake a bunch of food because it was cold from sitting there. A dedicated expediter would fix that problem... I don't usually expect much from this establishment but today hit a new low. It's Mother's Day so I expected a wait. We put our name in and waited for a considerable time. I started noticing names called for parties that arrived after us so I went and checked our status. My name was no longer on the waitlist. I'm generally a patient person so not a huge deal, they did seat us right away and apologized for the error. The server came and took drink orders and then took food orders when she returned with the drinks. All is good. I drank an entire cup of hot coffee before she returned. In fact we didn't see her again until the food came. At this point she dropped the food, said she would be right back with coffee and then announced she was going on break so she dropped the check. I'm slightly annoyed now as I hate being passed off. My six year old had ordered the kids French toast which stated it was two slices of thick sliced bread and sausage (see picture). When it arrived it was a single slice of bread cut in half. I must also have a misunderstanding of the definition of thick. It appears to be a standard piece of bread. It looked so lonely on its plate that my 6 y.o. immediately was devastated with disappointment as she was looking forward to this meal since the previous night when we decided to take Mom to Breakfast. When I question the new server, she stated, "well yeah it is two slices, it was cut in half". I was immediately highly annoyed as if duh, didn't you see the two pieces on the plate? I asked to place an order for another slice. They brought her another lonely piece of standard non-thick bread French toast along with another piece of sausage and then proceeded to charge us for another full breakfast.
