    Dinner Roll

I used to love Bob Evans! Live their soups! I ordered soup and rolls one day and received this. I tried to take a clear photo...the roll had a bite taken out of it. I am convinced they reuse their rolls. I called the restaurant and spoke with their to go manager. I literally asked her if this was a joke. I didn't ask nor was offered any refund. I just simply wanted her to know what I received. I won't ever eat their again.

I've been thinking about how much I wanted to experience Bob Evans breakfast since I haven't been in about 13 years. So a few days ago (while on a shopping excursion) stopped by to order takeout. I was pleasantly surprised when I went inside to find out that the actual dining room was open. A small point of normalcy returning. It wasn't packed so we sat decided to dine in that day. The food was amazing! The whole restaurant was really clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend coming here, and you definitely won't leave hungry.

Consistency and solid service is what I expect in casual, chain restaurants. Biscuits and gravy here should taste the same as any other Bob Evans. This location delivers. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and the breakfast crowd (especially on weekends) shows that this is a go-to spot for both locals and those passing through. Kids meals are $2.99 and offer lots of different options, including a cute reindeer pancake stack with bacon for the holidays. I love the Sunshine Skillet and biscuits. I'd agree with others that they need actual half-and-half with the coffee. I think they serve skim milk or a light cream.

Before the renovations, the food was actually good.

Our local Bobs is great. Food is consistently good. Wait staff are fab... Robert is my favorite. Prices are still good. It's a nice go-to.

The night that I stopped in there were three other couples dining, which I understand were all regulars because of the great food. I can't disagree with them. I had French onion soup that had the perfect balance of flavor and texture. I decided in the vegetable lasagna. Delicious indeed. I enjoyed my meal while I engaged in a super awkward conversation with a curious couple trying to figure out why I was visiting Cumberland

Got duck and filet and both were cooked as requested and to perfection with a delicious char, a juicy center, and perfect salt and seasoning. Sides were packed with flavor as well. Ordered a cheese board appetizer as well and they reopened my eyes to blue cheese, peppers, espresso beans, and olives. Very intimate setting, maybe 8 tables max with one server (maybe two and I missed) but I'd plan at least a couple hours for your dining experience, especially if you plan to get appetizers or dessert. Tips: Gotta check out their FB page for the weekly hours and menu as they close some weekends for catering. BYOB, no corking fee! No need to bring corkscrew, they cork it free of charge.

I just had two sides, as that was enough. Four pieces of chicken with honey butter drizzled over it with biscuits underneath and then I had the fried cinnamon apples and green beans, and those were good sides to go with it. I really wanted to try the hash brown casserole but I knew that would be too much. Three sides and four pieces of chicken! That's no way. I had the half-and-half: the lemonade and the tea, which was a really great combination, not too sweet. My mother had the fish and loved it. It was a great portion size and it was a great flavor. Our service was quick. The food came out very quickly and our server kept us up to date as to how things were going. She brought the corn muffins quickly although I saved those and took them home as it would have been way too filling. I did have the corn muffins at home and I found them to be flavorless and dry and probably should have tried the biscuits. I was expecting the corn muffin to be very flavorful as it is in other restaurants. We were there in the middle of the day on a Sunday and it wasn't very crowded so we were seated immediately. Luckily we went and shopped for candy in the store after we ate as we would have spent way more money had we done that before eating. Highly recommend a visit here.

This time I was passing by at dinner time so checked it out. It was Trivia Night so I opted for outside at one of the small 3 patio tables. The street has an outdoor dining vibe with two other restaurants also with outdoor seating. You put in your order at the bar (at least this Wednesday night) with a welcoming bartender on easy check list for sushi and ramen. I was stopping on the late side and those finishing their meals were clearly enjoying themselves. Many knew each other across tables as lots of stopping by for chats among friends. The pork belly in the ramen was definitely my jam as it had a crunchy top with easy to come apart pieces. Definitely the highlight. Not nearly as big a fan of the Asian greens which fell into almost a paste, the mushrooms not looking like they were fresh (to be fair there is a shiitake option I missed), and the smoked eggplant a little too chewy. And I took a flyer on the "special broth" without asking what it was so that is on me. But the really dark perhaps cinnamon infused (don't hold me to it) version was not something for me. The noodles were ample but not plentiful and were legit. So I think I'd opt for Nori instead of Asian greens next time and go with more traditional toppings. But definitely endorse the pork belly. I tried a smoked eggplant sushi role as something new. Just fine, I've tried it but I'll try another combo they have next time. And I know the economics are tough these days and specialty roles are routinely low teens in cost, but I'd suggest a two tier pricing scheme rather than $13.00 for one with a single ingredient and just 6 rather than normally 8 for specialty rolls. Glad I stopped and I will again to try some of the other fare. Just may be a little more traditional in my choices next time.
