Perfect for casual night out! It's seat yourself and the servers come to you to order. The server was accommodating when it came to the wait time. Service and food was quick even though we had an est. of a hour and 15 mins for food. We ordered: Neapolitan 14" thin crust pizza Caesar salad The portions were very generous and for the price, you couldn't beat it! The pizza had a good crust the flavors were good. Drove through Cumberland, MD on Sunday evening. Sure glad Uncle Jack's was open. We ordered a white pizza and salads, which were delicious. We ordered the 10" pizza, which was enough for both of us. Our salads were freshly made and large. The service was prompt and friendly. This is a local hangout, so expect loud music and laughter on the weekends. read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting the area and noticed that Uncle Jack's was pretty much the only bar in the area opened past 9 PM. They have your typical bar food but I can definitely say their wings, onion rings and pizza are phenomenal. The bartenders are attentive, friendly and super down to earth. Not really a pizzeria, it's a bar that sells pizza. Waited over an hour after ordering just to find out our pizza order hadn't even been started. The dining area was empty, only a few at the bar, and only a bar tender going between us and the bar customers. I received attitude from the bar tender and front hostess once I asked what the status of the food was considering it's been an hour, they said we only have one oven, it should be out in 10 minutes. Gave them 15 more minutes and asked again and then was told pizzas hadn't been made yet. I paid for my appetizers and sodas and told them I was leaving. Definitely won't be back. read more

The bartender, Andy, is a terrible human being. She is reason enough not to step foot in this place and she wasn't even the one serving us. She dropped an F bomb on me because I was in the bathroom when I guess she needed to use it. She is an awful presence and should be fired. My bikepacking crew grabbed lunch here after finishing our ride on the GAP Trail. Our server Gretchen was fantastic. The atmosphere is classic local bar. I loved the feel of the place. Regulars were in and out and football was on the various TVs. We all had Calzones and Stromboli's and they were delicious! I had the regular Calzone with ham, ricotta, and mozzarella. It was one of the best I've had in a while. The crust was crispy and very tasty. That's a critical starting point. I could taste some fresh garlic in the filling which I love, and there was plenty of gooey cheese inside. The marinara dipping sauce was perfect as well. We had pizza a few days earlier so I wasn't really craving it again, but stopping in for lunch here turned out to be a great decision. My cold beer and piping hot calzone were a perfect finish to an amazing ride. If you're riding the GAP or the C&O you should definitely check this place out. read more

I have a baby so I go to change his diaper, but the women's bathroom is shut down, okay.. no biggie. I go into the men's room. Welp sure enough there's someone using the urinal. I go into the toilet area with the closed door, and there is poop on the seat(thankfully I didn't have to use the restroom) I had to make my son stand to change his diaper because there is no changing table(not in women's either, I checked). I come out and still no food. It's been an hour & the table next to us had came in after us, ate & LEFT!!!! Our fettuccine pasta was hard & Alfredo sauce was so bland(probably out of a jar). Pizza was ok, the Steak hoagie was good and the Seafood Dip was delicious!!! The bread that goes with it was even better. Haha. I suggest you only go there to pregame/ get drunk& watch a game. Bathrooms need work, and the flies almost take it down to 1 star. The temp controls were also an issue as we were sweating like crazy. The food was very good, the meatballs were very tasty in the sub and calzone. The Chicago style pizza was also very good. Keeping the flies from the food and biting were the hard part. Great local spot. This bar/restaurant/local hangout was a great safe harbor on a nasty rainy afternoon. We grabbed a table with no waiting, and were promptly greeted. I had the cheesy bread sticks with the Chicago Deep Dish pizza. Lots of flavor, and quite filling, the generously proportioned pie did not disappoint. Just the right amount of toppings with a perfect balance of crisp and doughy crust was exactly what I needed to warm up. They knew we were waiting for the rain to clear, and weren't put off by that at all. Once the rain cleared, we paid our modest bill, and were on our way. Also they offer live music on a variety of nights, they have a back patio area, and have plenty of TVA to watch whatever game you are in search of! However- service is a big question mark. Anything pizza related is a good choice - they have a very cheap but loaded all you can eat lunch buffet - beer is somewhat cheap and reasonable - with happy hour specials and good options throughout. There's a reason why the place is packed usually from open to close. Service however is the biggest question mark they have. I can't speak to how many hands they have on deck during a busy time, but if nothing else hire or schedule an extra waitress during peak hours! There have been several times when I sit there without a refill for 10-15 minutes and have to flag down someone. It may because they are very busy- or under-staffed. Most of the waitresses are friendly, courteous, and helpful- it's just getting them over. I definitely recommend a go at this. Downtown historic Cumberland is lacking in a variety of dining choices, but you won't have to worry about that because you'll go to Uncle Jack's and be perfectly happy with your decision for well done bar food in a funky, friendly atmosphere. After wandering around we decided to to go Uncle Jack's because it looked like an interesting dive bar from the street. The space itself is pretty cool: the booths were once used in a local Elks lodge, so they're vintage and worn out, with walls lined with Maryland sports teams pride and local history. The servers are attentive and friendly, the music is good - and there are TV's airing all the sports. The house salad will surpass your expectations on what a house salad in a sports bar is like. Fresh, diverse leafy greens, crispy cucumbers, fresh tomatoes, and a modest toss in good dressing makes this one of the better salads we had on our trip. The buffalo chicken tenders were crispy and good quality white meat. And the pizza? Just say YES. Great music, great atmosphere, great bar food, all at a great price! read more

We walk in and they are not busy...we ordered one appetizer and five pizzas and wait an hour and a half for food...while other folks around us get served? One of our group members asks our waitress (who has not stopped by in over 45 minutes) and asks where our food was - her response, "I will deal with you in a minute!" Then we do not see her again? Wow, as beautiful as Cumberland is this place would bring it to zero stars. I was the only latino sitting in a table shared with great people (non latino, mostly white) and after 30-45 mins I started worrying about the food. After 1 hr or so I tried to ask one of the servers about our order and before I said something she said "one second" and walked away. Yes, the place started getting busy but it wasn't crazy busy to understand the 2 hr wait. I hope the managers/owner reads this and does something about it. Normally, my husband and I would give you at least 4 stars. We have lived in the are for almost 8 years. We've loved Uncle Jack's. This weekend, we had our friends down for a visit. We wanted to show some of the stables of MD and of course, we thought of your place. This was the first time we ever felt unwelcome. There was a baseball team that came in and was a tall order. The bartender was more than cooperative given circumstance. Once that crowd left, we were just put to the side to the "regulars." We had drinks and appetizers at the bar. We placed a to go order as we continued to dri k and eat appetizers. We were ignored until our food was ready for take out. We got home and my husband's meatball Stromboli was completely burnt. I just wanted to make sure that you were aware you had 4 good paying customers . Two of which, live in the area. I'm not sure if or when we'll be back. The service is hit or miss and you are better off waving someone down if you need something than waiting for your own person to come back. They lose stars for takeout. We called the first night and the phone was put down for 10 minutes. No one ever came back to answer it. I could hear the people sitting near it. We tried calling back for nearly an hour (we were at another bar in town and everyone wanted jacks). But the phone line was "not available" every time we tried to call. Was in beautiful Cumberland Gap for a work trip and needed a place for a nice relaxing Wednesday night dinner. Decided on Uncle Jack's as it was within walking distance from the Michelin rated Fairfield Suites and based on the positive reviews. Boy oh boy did Uncle Jack come through. As we entered, the smell of grandma's old row house hit you in the face followed by the stale cigarette smoke that must be encapsulated in the walls. I thought our night was heading down a dark disappointing road to nowhere. We ordered some beers and unfortunately the first two choices were just kicked. Uncle Jack was not helping us out. However, our crab dip appetizer came and GAWWWWWWD was it tasty. The bread that accompanied this bowl of creamy cheesy amazingness was toasted and sprinkled with some garlic salt. As we crushed this, before we knew it (and without our request), our server brought us over a second helping of bread to finish off the dip. Talk about proper service!!! Uncle Jack, you old sailor you! We finished our pizza which hit the spot. The wings were cooked to perfection and very good. I would HIGHLY recommend the blue cheese. OH. EMM. Waiter refilled my sons glass instead of mine. Misunderstanding while I was away from the table. Got charged $2 for soda refill. $10.49 for soda while three of us ate dinner. Stupid up charges. On our way to Utah at the moment, stopped at Cumberland Maryland for the first stop. This cute town is beautiful and I'm glad that, even though it's also a little scary, we stopped here. We were walking around for a little to figure out exactly where we wanted to go, and decided on this pub. Waitresses are very nice. Sat down immediately, and came to our table, and overall the experience was very pleasant. My food personally was very good. They have such great French fries my god. the burger was great. The buns the use aren't regular burger buns but I still enjoyed it. And my mom got a salad and she gave me her garlic bread and even that was really freakin good. Had to order from night menu (though it was just after 9:00 PM, NOT past 10:00 PM). She wouldn't answer questions stating, "It's on the menu."
