We were staying at resort, and decided to give this restaurant a try. Hubby got the hit meatloaf platter, I think he would have licked the plate if he could have. I ordered the hot beef platter, delicious! Service was spot on, and you really couldn't ask for more from a restaurant during these times. Keep up the good work! read more

Sadly, everything changes these days. I have went to this restaurant since I was 17 years old. I am 70 years old now. We loved going there. But the last few times, and especially last week it was ruined forever. I can never go back. There was a very nice hostess waitress who has been there for 26 years. But the waitress who brought our food was horrible. She was rude and had a very ugly attitude. When the nice waitress stopped by, I asked her how was it that she was so nice and the other girl was so rude. She just smiled kindly. But the other waitress would not come by, give us drink, bring us ketchup, or give us any service. We had to ask a man who was working at a table. And to my surprise, he was as rude and unkind as the girl. We asked him why we couldn't get any service and he flew off the handle. I told him the waitress was very rude and had an ugly attitude and he flipped on us again. I asked to speak to the owner and he yelled that he was the owner. I was just shocked--I was an owner of a business for 27 years and I couldn't believe an owner would treat someone this way. I told him that we had been coming there since I was 17, but it didn't matter. He continued to embarrass us in front of other customers. I questioned him if he really was the owner, and he yelled, "You don't believe me? Why, because I'm young and white?" I was beyond shocked. I wanted to tell him, "No, it is because you are really rude, and that being white or young had nothing to do with it, but at this point-I simply said, "We are not having this conversation." Others, tried to calm him down, but his anger was off the wall as he tore into my brother and my husband. I never even got to ask him what had happened to their food. I was supposed to get a grilled pork chop. It was not grilled, was fatty, and bland, tough and tasteless. The ground steak, my husband got was horrible and the French fries were cold. We had already decided with the quality of the food being so bad and the prices that had gone up considerably since our last visit, that we probably would not come back. But it is hard to quit going to a place that you loved to go to. But after being treated that way, we can never go back. It is a very sad thing and I think the original owners would be very disappointed to see that their restaurant has turned into this. read more

This is a cozy country style diner, definitely no frills, but an excellent choice for homestyle cooking! Service was fast & very friendly. Two of us had the hot beef sandwich with mash and gravy. Deeelicious, although I felt it could have had more roast beef. Hamburger and fries were good, standard serving size. We ordered a large onion ring to share among 3 people, it was a pretty small serving, more for 2. We also had to try their homemade pies, the cherry was a little disappointing, but the coconut cream was out of this world, amazing! They do offer to warm your fruit pies and serve with ice cream, do it! Prices are very reasonable! read more

Came here because of the reviews and I was not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious at a very reasonable price. We unknowingly lucked out by coming on a Saturday. I must, must give this place five stars onaccounta it is my parents favorite place to go! Mother and Daddy know the daily specials by heart, and country fried steak night seems to be their favorite! Wow. I like to travel and support local restaurants - this one was five stars for food and wait staff. The food was amazing. I just left and I'm still licking my lips. Very filling!!! I'm so addicted to their lasagna that I've never had anything else on the menu here, so I'm basing my review on that meal specifically. It is TO-DIE-FOR kind of good! The sauce is just the right amount of sweet and tangy and it is just spilling over with cheesy goodness. The portion was huge; the price was absurdly cheap; and it even included bread and salad. You can't beat the deal there. The service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was the kind of laid-back casual that made you feel truly at home. It's nothing fancy, and it doesn't need to be. Delivers exactly as promised. Post-WWII fare. Good for what it is. Good service, ample portions, and low prices. Iceberg lettuce, store-bought dinner roll from a plastic bag, and I suspect the whipped potatoes are from a dehydrated mix. True, it was the same as my Mom cooked in 1969, but Mom, impervious to culinary fashion, never tried to be a cutting-edge chef. The 80-year-old in your life will feel comfortable. read more

Eating at Lindy's is like stopping at a friends home to share some great food; it it old times and good times rolled into one. I rate this restaurant absolutely wonderful! My parents live about 25 miles away but they manage to go there several times a week and when I go home to visit, we always go to Lindys. It is also one of my favorites and I live in a city of major restaurants. I love the breaded fried chicken and the free bowl of delicious rice they serve. I never eat 2 pieces of chicken breast except when I go to Lindys. The cost is unbelievable! The staff is terrific. They are very good to all of their customers. They even know that my mom always gets a to-go box and they are sure to bring it to her before she gets ready to leave. The atmosphere is like going back in time. It is my gift of choice now to my parents. For all occasions we get them gift certificates to Lindys because they eat so many dinners there. Thank you Lindys! read more

Last Sunday, my wife and I went to Lindy's for dinner. After sitting at a table, we waited over 10 minutes to be waited on. Since there were no employees in the front of the restaurant, I went back to the kitchen and requested menues. After waiting another 15 minutes for someone to take our order, my wife and I finally left Lindy's. During the time we were there, only two other couples were in the dining area. Also, no one was cleaning up the tables after customers left the restaurant. The owners needs someone to be in the restaurant supervising the employees. read more
