The Bob Evans was well staffed and I called to make an order but no one answered. I went in and made an order at 7:30 for 8 sausage pattie's and 2 hash browns (I added the hash browns 6min later) so let's call my order whole order time 7:36 I've sat here and juuust received my order at 8:24. After asking for someone to check on my order @ the 45 minute mark I almost canceled but they said nearly done and when it's an add on, it goes to the end; does that make sense?" Uh no, it doesn't if adding a hash brown 6 minutes into an order pushes my ticket to the end please let me know when I order that that will make my order be almost an hour instead of 10-15 minutes. I definitely would have passed. I thought when they got to my ticket they would just add the hashbrown. Silly me. The staff seemed far more concerned with closing processes to "get out" on time, I think they had just "checked out" for the night. another patron cancelled her order as I was leaving for similar reasons. Witnessed while I waited 2 sets of eat in diners when asked "How was your meal?" replied "not good" and "I've had better, because ..." nothing was done in response. So each paid and left. While the demeanor of my cashier was calm and the 11 employees I counted seemed busy, for the most part of the nearly hour that I was there. During my wait 5 tables and 3 counter service orders came out, not including my stuff. This may be uncommon or maybe because it was within two hours of closing but I had very poor service. read more

We come here for breakfast a couple of times a month. You have to get here early to avoid the long wait for a table. Yes, they get very busy here. The food is always perfect and tastes great. The morning staff is super friendly and efficient. They even remember what we like to drink and bring the beverages to the table straight away. read more

Wow wow wow the reviews say it all. Another customer not satisfied. Sam needs to get fired she is disrespectful. She took my order over the phone and everything was completely wrong when I received it. I called her to correct the order she wouldn't even let me get a word in and hangs up on me 4xs after I repeatedly called her. Finally a manager picks up and tell me I cursed at her WOW WOW WOW. We had just moved here from Manatee County and decided to come here for dinner last night. Our server, Lexi, was awesome! She took time out of her service to have a conversation with us and welcome us to the area. She brought a smile and positive energy to the restaurant. The Bob Evans farmhouse is part of rural America, although often located near interstates and motels. It's the epitome of basic comfort food and excellent breads served with your meals. It's been a few years since I tried dinner at Bob's, usually opting for their generous breakfasts. But it lived up to his reputation as a dinner comfort food establishment on my visit -- nothing fancy, just home-style cooked foods without elaborate gourmet sauces, etc at a very reasonable price in a nice clean restaurant with good service. You could eat here often and be happy. I tried the Grilled Chicken Breasts -- two of them. Again, nothing fancy, just plain chicken, served with a wide selection of sides. I chose a baked potato with al the fixings, and broccoli. Around $10. The fresh dinner rolls right out of the oven were unbelievably good! Ask for more! A choice of other "home-baked" breads are served while you wait for your meal -- banana bread, lemon bread, and a few others depending on the season. All are excellent. Take a loaf home for an additional charge. It's a busy restaurant, but relatively quiet with room dividers and carpeting. Service is attentive, I've noticed, at many Bob Evans' restaurants from servers who tend to stay on the job with long-time employment. Today's dinner was the sliced turkey and dressing from the 3-course menu offerings. We added a side salad and and dessert for the 1299 price. The meal came with specialty bread of your choice(banana, pumpkin, or cinnamon or cornbread. Our waitress was pleasant and everything will serve hot, timely and with a smile. Place is also decorated for Christmas and there's plenty of cakes and pies to be ordered for your holiday at home. My opinion this is some of the best turkey and dressing in the area if you're looking for that holiday meal this is a good place to start. read more

Note we come here often.. Thanksgiving dinner was a disaster. They only offered a choice of two meals. Neither of them were an option because they ran out of Ham and other items! What you received was subpar turkey, disgusting dressing that was way over seasoned, carrots that were cooked two days before, Et cetera. I received as part of the dinner.. Ice cold apple pie served in Styrofoam to-go container. Thank you Bob Evans for the worst Thanksgiving dinner I've had! This place has definitely gone downhill in the last several months. From a crabby, and unhospitable, host when you enter to sour and old tasting coleslaw to go along with your rock hard fried fish this place's slow service is seriously lacking! A long wait at the door combined with a long wait for food and slow service makes for a miserably LONG experience that should have been efficient and pleasant as it previously was. At this point I would not even order a scrambled egg as it might take them 20 minutes to make. Scores of people waiting in line left due to the very long wait at the door and host that was in a grumpy mood with a vocal tone as if he did not care if you were there or not! 4 of us went to dinner... We were seated fast. Waitress was attentive. Food came in a timely manner. My friends steak was ordered med rare and came out well done like a hockey puck. They cooked her another and it was well done. At that point she just ate the steak as she wanted to eat with us. My fish was also over cooked. My wife said her salad was very good. And our other friend was pleased with his meal. If I could give half stars I would rate this experience a 2.5 stars. Had better meals here... Meh.... read more

Pancakes were good... bacon was low quality, sausages tasted like they were frozen, eggs were cold.

For a chain restaurant they do pretty good, usually, not always. I don't know who to blame for slower service at times when it isn't real busy, the waitress, the cooks, who??? At times (rarely) they burn the hash browns a little and all you taste is char so they're not consistent with their cooking and I have to stop and wonder what proud chef/cook would give a customer burned food. I can clearly see it's burned so why can't they or do they care??? Sometimes you wonder why it's taking more than 15 minutes to get your food so again, not consistent. I really do like their variety and their home style cooking most of all. It's about as close to a Ma & Pa's (greasy spoon joint) as you can get as far as chain restaurants go and they recently added more choices to their menu. That was a good move on their part. They're a god send on Thanksgiving Day. I don't have to cook a huge dinner then. I said some negative things about the place but as mentioned, it's not all the time that the bad stuff happens. I mostly mentioned it in hopes they would read this and have a talk with their staff about what I mentioned. I recommend eating there for home cooked style food. read more

8-3-19 I had to update the review - we go there weekly. The food and service is always excellent! Management does well at selecting staff and they seem to stay for the most part. I will still take the star off for the lack of disability access. The hallway to the restrooms is tiny and they have a bench for take order customers along the route and if someone is there, they have to shift to make room as I pass by and I have a very small transport wheelchair. There are very tight turns to get a wheelchair in. The front doors have no button to push open and there are two doors to navigate. I usually have to navigate that with a wheelchair by myself, but less so is the timing right that another customer will be nearby to help. This restaurant has a high elderly demographic - for Pete's sake accommodate that and you will get my fifth star. read more

This a complete disappointment. The beef vegetable had not one spec of beef in it. The sandwich melt was cold and not at all melted. Our server forgot to put in our order so we watched as others came in... ate..... And left. The table was never cleared off and if we were traveling through and hungry we would have walked out. Bob Evans in Sun City is the most inconsistent Resturant in service and food preparation in the world. You never know whether the food will come out prepared as requested. Getting service can also be an issue depending on the server you get. I ordered my scrambled eggs soft and bacon well done. This is what came out! Eggs were overdone and bacon half cooked. You may ask why didn't I return them. Well you have to be asked and neither the waitress or manager stopped by the table. I had to walk up to the counter to get my drinks refilled. Why do we go here? I have resisted going into a Bob Evans since a bad experience many years ago. When my wife had lunch with her son at one, she reported that it was pretty good. So when the breakfast choice was Denny's or B.E. we rolled the dice having nothing to lose. Breakfast is my fav meal and I know exactly what I want, scrambled eggs, sausage and French toast. Anything else is a bonus. We were seated almost immediately and lo and behold their "farmers choice" breakfast hit everything I wanted. Add some grits to the other items along with my own carafe of hot bold coffee and Crankie Frankie is as gentle as a lamb. Service was great, not one thing to complain about. The reason I'm giving a 4 star is because our waitress Karen was busting her butt running all over our side of the place with a boot on her foot. We kept her running and she still had a smile and fixed my order right away. When we left she even offered to get me a peach tea to go w/o ice so it would keep till tomorrow. But it was the most excellent service by our waitress (LA) that really made everything so perfect. She was friendly and prompt and truly enjoyed her job. Went for lunch w a coworker. Waited 20 min just to get soup. When I asked the waitress she later returned with the soup and entre. My chicken was cold so it had been ready for awhile. This place is a joke. Food today was so bad. The roast beef had about 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes with it. It took one hour between ordering & finally receiving our food.
