One year later, our neighbors had several trees to get trimmed. Some of them are exotic fruit trees, so not just anyone could do the job -- correctly. We reached out to Bob Loft, a certified arborist, who clearly knows his craft. The cost estimate was very fair, and my elderly neighbors were elated with the mastery and speed that the crew worked. Bob, himself, was right there directing and pruning the numerous trees. Afterwards, Bob called to offer a couple workers to come by and dispose of some other trimming that I did to help my neighbors -- work that was not a part of the job. I have not had Bob or his team out to trim any trees... yet. But I will. Bob was referred to me by another tree company as Bob was the 'expert' and certified arborist. I asked Bob if he could come out and evaluate some trees. He said he would be happy to set something up. But then he spent 10 minutes on the phone with me asking and answering questions about my trees. The call ended with him telling me what I needed to do and if that didn't help to give him a call back. I told him I would, and that I would call him back when I was ready to have the trees trimmed. Not very often you come across a company or person with they kind of integrity. He could have come out, made some money with a service fee or consultation but instead was just a good and helpful human being. I will be using them in the future. -Joel read more

We have had Bob Loft and his crew maintain the trees at two homes over 20 years now and we we will not use anyone else, especially after this last experience a week or so ago. We purchased a home with a beautiful, established elm tree in the back yard, albeit one that was a bit overgrown. We had Bob out a year ago and he actually declined the work, letting us know that we didn't need to have the work done then... This year, we both agreed it was time to trim and the aesthetic care an artistic treatment Bob and his crew performed on the elm tree are spectacular... The tree is now shapely, has air space for light and the birds can now easily alight amidst its branches... The palm trees got a nice haircut and the sycamore tree in front got pulled back tastefully from the neighbor's airspace. The crew got to our place right on time and were done and completely cleaned up, chipped and gone in about 3 hours, with precision.. They even moved our yard statuary and decorations to avoid damaging them... This kind of old-school care and professionalism is why Bob Loft is the only arborist/tree trimmer we'll use... The other neighbors have used fly-by-night hack crews that come in and "top" the trees for a rock-bottom price, but their trees look like butchered stumps and frequently don't look good even after they have a year or two to regenerate... With Bob & his crew, your trees look good and healthy from the moment they leave your property... Plus, Bob will tell you some genuinely funny (and CLEAN) jokes while he's on the job with his crew... We had such a great experience with Bob! We recently purchased a new home and it was very overgrown and had several trees that were problematic to the foundation. Bob did a thorough walk through of the property and identified the trees for us, and gave his recommendation on what to do with them. There were several that we thought would need to be removed, but he advised to just trim them up. Once hired, his team was quick, efficient, and were all very friendly. We had Bob and his team out to our house to remove two trees, including stumps and roots so i could replant a new tree in the same spot. His team of 7 showed up promptly and got to work. I've never seen anybody get so much done so quickly. In 1.5 hours they said they were done and packed up. I expressed my concern that there was no way they could have removed all the roots so quickly and since my intent was to replant in the same spot I asked him if I would have a problem with the remaining roots of my 25 yr old tree. He said my gardener shouldn't have a problem but if he does Bob will come back. Well sure enough my gardener came the following day and said all the roots are remaining and it would cost $350 to dig them out. I called Bob to let him know and the following week his crew came back out spent another 45 min grinding down the roots. Based on the amount I paid I expected them to spend some time digging out the roots so I could plant a new tree as the grinder only goes down about a foot. read more

When I called Bob, he called me back the same day (Friday) and called me today to say his guys had time to do the job today. I was happy to be able to get it all done so quickly. I called him to trim my mulberry trees, and pines, and he really knows his business. He told me to just clean out the canopy of the mulberry trees occasionally, as cutting them back really makes them grow. On the other hand the pines need trimming every two to three years to encourage them to stay healthy and not get too tall. I've done business with Bob for many years. The last time he was here was 7 years ago, and did a great job then. He and his guys were in and out in a couple of hours, and did a great job again. read more

We had Bob and his team come in and take out five mid size trees and grind out the stumps. They were very professional and very fast. Much faster than I would have anticipated. Probably would have been a most of a day process for me and my father to do it. It didn't take his team much time at all. The had everything cleaned up before they left. I did not have a positive experience. Bob quickly returned my phone call and gave me an estimate. Really high for the work, so we scaled things back. Crew of four arrived (around 8:30) and worked very quickly with their chain saws to trim and "remove" the trees and shrubs (left at 2:30ish). Then things went south. They hit an auxiliary gas line - it wasn't well placed or marked, so I don't fault them for that. But, we shut off the gas and they wanted to leave very quickly. Bob said, "we're not doing any more work here and we just want to get paid (for the two days they were there - $4k). I paid, even though it was clear they were not going to finish. That is when I started to notice issues. They cut through my sprinkler system in 6 places! And I discovered that they merely cut trees and shrubs to the ground, but left all the roots in almost half of the job. I decided not to call them back to remove the roots. I worked with another company who was amazing - polite, clean and actually did all that was promised for almost half Bob's rates. read more

My favorite tree in my yard needed trimming and I was very particular about how I wanted it trimmed. I had a few different companies come out but right when Bob looked at the tree he was the only one able to explain exactly which branches had to go, he had the most knowledge of the type of tree and best price. I met with Bob on Tuesday after work and we reviewed a bunch of work. He had a crew of four guys over there the next day and they took care of it. We had him reshape significantly an large Indian Laurel (Ficus microcarpa), completely remove a 25' Carrotwood (Cupaniopsis anacardioides), prune aggressively an Australian Willow (Geijera parviflora), and trim back three Alders. They did exactly the work we discussed, and I had some pretty specific requests on my beloved Indian Laurel. Very professional and cleaned up the site well. Cost seemed very fair.
