I know nothing about fishing. But my family and I were about to head to Sequoia and my son wanted so badly to finally catch a fish. We hadn't been successful doing so like 2 or 3 times we tried. I'm pregnant, and they offered me a chair while the boys looked around for their rods so considerate! I've been sitting all day, but I appreciate it so much! 2. If you're standing around looking for your rods someone that works here will come up to you and make sure you're taken care of. Really though, such great service. They put the line on the reel that my husband chose, the worker gave his advice on what would be best on the type of fishing he's doing, and they set him up with everything he needed for his new rod! 3. Mike helped me so much the other day! I inherited a ton of fishing poles when my grandfather passed away and instead of making me lug them all in the store he walked all the way out to my car to teach me what each pole was used for and which ones were useable/not useable. He helped me string up all my fishing poles and answered my tons of scattered questions with so much patience. He helped me pick out weights and hooks and everything I needed for a day of pier fishing. He even pushed my baby stroller out the front door as I was leaving when I had too many things in my hand and needed help. I did not know we had this little gem in the valley. This beats going to Target/Walmart for generic gear. You have a whole shop full of hobbyists to help you! Our first visit, the boss helped us out. He explained everything from which rod is best, to which bait to use. They even provided sheets on how to tie knots and some fishing spots in the valley. The prices are so reasonable (lake fishing rod for $30!) and they also sell fishing licenses in store. The best part of this was the experience - I was shy because I'm new to the hobby, but everyone was so kind and welcoming to the sport. Thanks again, and see you all soon! read more

I'm a long time customer and I called in advance to let them know I was coming in but GPS said I would arrive 7 minutes after closing. I called asked if they could wait up. The man on the phone asked me what I needed and I told him. He then said "Try your best." I ended up getting here at 5:28 and they closed. This is extremely frustrating because I live really far and I was here before closing AND I called in advance. I understand closing at 5:30, but you closed early knowing someone was on their way.
