I popped in to this charming little spot in old town Pasadena with a few friends when they first opened, and I've been coming (roughly) monthly since! When you first walk in, you're welcomed to a wide open space with ample and varied seating, with couches, traditional chairs and tables, and little clusters of two chairs and an end table for parties of 2. There is also a massive selfie wall to the left, perfect for your Instagram moment. The jasmine tea and delicious boba are both freshly made. The price is a bit high for just boba, but you're paying in part for real estate. Service varies wildly. The older gentleman is gruff and unhelpful. The young ladies who man the front desk are far friendlier, and much more helpful. There is plenty of street and structure parking in old town Pasadena, and this is a short walk from a number of them. read more

This place has really gone downhill. It's right in old town and I would say best to park at the structure off Green and Fair Oaks to walk over. Most recent visit was on a Tuesday late Jan 2026. I've been here a few times and liked it, I remember they had a mazapán drink that was super good so was looking forward to that again. Walking in the decor and menu generally the same. The kiosk was not working so had to place order upfront and it looked like only one girl was staffed there and she gave off the vibe that she did not want to be there. The mazapan drink was still up on the menu but the employee said they no longer make that, no explanation why it was still up there. Then seemed really impatient cuz I had to think about what to get instead. Ended up ordering a taro milk tea size 16 oz which took almost 10 minutes to make which I thought was way too long considering no one else was there. When I finally got it, it looked like a kids size there's no way that was 16 oz and tasted completely mediocre. Also cost $7 before tip which I regret giving an extra $1 too. Yikes with all the other boba and coffee shops in Pasadena they cannot afford to offer such low quality and poor service. Will not be back again. read more

There is a parking structure nearby and one thing I must say that they do not make drinks quick. The ambiance is a very chill, calm, and tranquil place. Has a few chairs, tables, and lounge area. They have a sign that says they don't rush making their drinks. If you're in a time crunch, this is not a place for you to go. It took over 20 minutes to get 3 drinks made. I had really high expectations since this place had such high ratings and when you walk in, there's a strong aroma of freshly brewed tea. Boy was I fooled! This was probably the worst black milk tea I've ever had! It was so watered down and diluted. No sweetness at all and no milk or tea flavors either! My boyfriend and i took one sip, gagged, and then took another sip to make sure we weren't trippin. We could not believe what we were tasting! Total sips: 4 before dumping it in the trash. Boba ChaCha's strong points are its super cute aesthetics and friendly worker. It has a variety of seating arrangements making it a good setting for duos and medium sized groups. The boba balls were nice and chewy. Unfortunately, the drink itself tasted watered down, possibly due to my alterations. I got a Lavender milk tea with 75% sweetness, 100% ice and soy milk. If you're planning to go maybe order the drinks at 100% sweetness with regular milk and less ice. The strawberry cheesecake had cute plating, but flavor wise was a bit lacking. I'm willing to give them another try in the future, but I'll probably try different menu items next time around. read more

This is our go-to boba shop in old town. Not fancy or fun cool flavors like others in the area but you can always count on them to make it right. Their boba is mostly fresh but we have had instances where their jelly is a bit off. There is no "service" as you order on a screen but you can always catch the eye of the worker making them. I got promoted an ad on Facebook for BOGO drink here so decided to give it a shot. Personally I thought the customization here stood out to me. You get any two toppings per drink and pretty much every drink is whatever you want it to be. I got a strawberry green tea with blueberry and kiwi added as my topping. 25% sweet was pretty good though I probably could've went down to 0%. Favorize it was good, I enjoyed it a lot they also had chocolate popping boba which was interesting but also pretty good. The lychee oolong was really good but very sweet, I got it with 75% sweetness but it was still a little too sweet for me. The boba was soft and chewy! I'd rate that drink a 4/5. On the other hand the house black milk tea was really bad. I'd give it a 0 - it gone thrown out when I got back home. It was bland and tasted off. I got it in 50% sweet like I typically do with any boba place. And also got a thai milk tea with boba with regular sweetness but it seems to be watered down. My brother who got this said that it wasnt sweet at all and the taste was very bland. I guess we will not be back here. As it is parking is hard since it is in downtown Pasadena. Ordered at the kiosk and got a hibiscus black tea with lychee and mixed fruit jelly and an oolong milk tea with boba. The oolong with boba was really good - the boba had the perfect chewy fresh texture. The fruit tea was also good but on the sweeter side. I got 0% sweetness and it still tasted pretty sweet. Found a deal on Facebook which prompted me to come try boba chacha. The closest parking structure is a more expensive lot and there are cheaper ones across Colorado and at DeLacey. We walked over and this boba cafe is super cute. I really appreciated all the little touches put into the decor. It automatically gives it a very relaxing and chill vibe. They even have coloring pages in their coffee table which was fun. Staff was friendly overall and they have fresh fruit as toppings. 2 toppings are included in their drinks. They also have delicious looking desserts including a rainbow crepe cake and mango sticky rice. I'd definitely want to come back and hang out with friends or just study. Parking can be a limiting factor is what I can see but worth a try. They have basil seeds as a topping which I love. They also have oat or almond milk. read more

Very nicely decorated place with beautiful jazz music playing. I gave it 4 stars because prices are very high for just a drink. And we waited about 15min when there was only one other person in there. If I am paying that much for a drink (it was $9), I would think it would also be ready faster! I ordered a hojicha with crystal boba&pudding. And because I am lactose sensitive, I needed almond milk. Who knew that would make the total come out to almost $10!
