Fika Fika is a great shop to get a fragrant floral tea and a small bite to eat. The menu has adjusted slowly over time, but they maintain a solid coffee and tea selection, with some food options and (at the Pasadena location) about 16 flavors of gelato. On this weekday I came for the Jasmine Milk Tea. Last time this was under the Tea Latte section, but they menu changed and there is now a dedicated Milk Tea section. And also there is a Jasmine Latte with Espresso in it, but that is under the Espresso section. I was able to get it chilled but without ice. The lowest sweetness level was 50%, but I asked nicely and they estimated they could make a 25% for me. It turned out wonderfully, extremely floral, barely any sweetness so the Jasmine aroma and taste were the dominant ones. In the food side I selected the popcorn chicken. I can take some heat but only a small bit, so I asked for the spice powder in the side. I just looove the texture of the popcorn chicken. You can see in the picture that it's a very thin breading, almost not there, but the texture seems almost as if an invisible rice flour was tossed in the outside. Still juicy in the inside, and small pieces to make every bite pop-able. The chicken comes with a ranch sauce, though to me it's a second thought. Add a hint of spice or even have the chicken as is, no ranch is needed. read more

TL;DR: I've been here a handful of times and keep coming back for the work-friendly atmosphere, solid rewards program, and flavored lattes. Traditional espresso drinks, however, aren't their strong suit. Pros: Plenty of seating, lots of outlets, reliable Wi-Fi, and a comfortable space to work or study. They also have a solid rewards program if you visit regularly, plus various avocado toast options and Asian-inspired ice cream if you're looking for more than coffee. My favorite drink is the brown sugar latte (I'd recommend 25% or 50% sweetness), followed by the Thai tea latte. Cons: Traditional espresso drinks feel more modernized than authentic. On my most recent visit (Friday around 10:20 a.m.), I ordered a cappuccino that took 15 minutes to receive and was surprised it only came in 12 oz or 16 oz. I was expecting a smaller cup like other places. The 12 oz tasted more like a latte with extra steamed milk than a classic cappuccino. This coffee spot was really good! The tabby brown sugar latte genuinely tasted like I was drinking a tiger milk tea or a brown sugar milk tea, but as a coffee latte! I liked it because yoy could actually taste the rose and it wasnt sweet. I choose the melloe wave roast as it was lighter and had stronger caffeine compared to the fikafika blend which is a dark roast. They have ice cream as well and food. Ice cream is $5/scoop or 8.5 for double. Love the decor in here. A really good study spot. They have extra tables in the back room as well. Whaa they have little adoption days for kitties. Today 6/13 they had adoption from 3 -? But sadly couldnt be there. They set up the cages and didnt have the kitties in there yet, which is good cause it was hot. This place is great for studying and grabbing a quick drink. A decent amount of tables and some chargers here and there. It is usually fairly empty but sometimes it can be pretty packed at times. The drinks and food is pretty average nothing amazing or out there. Its all average priced with drinks between 6-8.50 and the snack food is alright. Definitely recommend the popcorn chicken over the fries. The actual plate foods are good but i think slightly too pricy in my opinion. The one thing that bothered me was the ice cream. Drinks: Kyoto Cherry Rose - Potent rose floral flavor without being overbearing. You taste and know it's there but it's not sickening and doesn't punch you in the face. This coffee shop is fairly small and conveniently located right across from Pasadena City College. It's nice that they are dog-friendly so I saw some customers with their dogs inside the cafe! There is a huge variety of coffee and tea drinks. Prices are pretty reasonable and most drinks are ~$6-7. They also have a few food options, like tots, fries, toast, and mini desserts. The lady that took my order was friendly and helpful. However, it would have been nice if the staff did something about a homeless guy that came in and just started bothering all the customers. He kept approaching customers but not in a nice way and the staff just ignored him being there so all the customers slowly started to leave, including myself. The Ube Latte was just ok. The coffee was strong and tasted pretty good but the ube tasted flavorless unfortunately. This was 3/5 The Mochi Paw Cake ($7.75) came with 3 flavors and I chose ube, matcha, and black sesame. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes if you order this because it takes awhile to make! Loved how crispy it was in the outside and how chewy it was on the inside! I came in the mood to have my usual rose latte but was tempted by an array of ice creams. On such a warm day it was the perfect treat and I'm glad I finally gave them a try. FOOD 5/5 I sampled almost all of the ice creams before I picked out my favorite flavors. Do you know that EVERY SINGE FLAVOR I tasted tasted exactly like the flavor it was. The Thai tea was spot on, the lychee flavor was spot on , the Hokkaido flavor was spot on, the cereal and milk was to die for, and the strawberry matcha was delicious. I finally went with the split scoop of milk & cereal and Hokkaido with the rose cone and it was the perfect combination. I also got the small "So Matcha So Cloudy" with oat milk made as is. SERVICE 5/5 The service was A1 top tier. Emily was so patient, helpful, and kind while providing me the best customer service while I decided what I wanted to order. Also when I got my matcha the lavender sweetness wasn't as prominent as I'd like, so I went back to the counter and once again Emily was happy to help me decide if I needed more vanilla or more lavender to make it a bit sweeter. I ended up getting 2 more lavender pumps and it put the flavor right where I liked it. I like my drinks a little more on the sweeter side. AMBIANCE 5/5 It was a welcoming space with plenty of places to sit. There were plants and music that brought a nice vibe. There was even an area to sit out front if I was in the mood to soak up a little sun. All in all a 5/5 for the entire experience as a whole. This is the second Fika Fika location I've visited and I always leave happy. Came here for a quick meet as I was a few doors down eating lunch. There's parking on the street but looks like maybe an hour limit usually except Sundays which is the day I'm here :) I tried to order the Thai latte but that only comes ice cold and it's freezing today so instead I ordered the mocha latte. It was ok. After having a few solid ones, the mocha latte here had nothing that stood out. Service was friendly. The tables here are close together so not good for meetings that require privacy. i popped by here on a whim when i was in the pasadena area a while back, and this little shop was such a fun coffee stop. i had tried the rose latte along with a bunch of the mochi paw cakes, and the paw cakes were SO CUTE! the texture/flavor of the dough reminded me a lot of those asian egg waffles, but the inside of them had a nice balance of filling. it made me wish there was one closer! it's a bit on the smaller side in terms of space, but there was still plenty of seating available the day i went. the workers were really sweet too!! I was impressed by the flavor and aroma of the 16 oz black no creamer sugar coffee with the espresso. Definitely a pick-me-up for the middle of the day. The avocado toast came with a well-organized and artfully displayed avocado toast with a side salad. Presentation here definitely matters. The tables and chairs are sturdy and reflect a Scandinavian influence. Decorations and wall pictures help create a peaceful atmosphere. There are a few tables outside covered with umbrellas, for those wanting to enjoy the patio adjacent to Colorado Boulevard. There is plenty of side street parking as well as a parking lot behind this small shopping area. I've never had a problem finding a parking space. It's also a great area to walk. Located between Allen Avenue and Pasadena City College, it is popular with the neighborhood families, as well as students. I think I found out about Fika Fika through Instagram Reels! Originally we tried going to the Arcadia location, since it looked bigger, but this location is way less busy. (Not that it's not busy -- it definitely still is.) I got the Kyoto green rose tea unsweetened and it honestly grew a lot on me. It's very floral; the kind that feels a little odd at first but becomes sweeter the more you drink it. They have a lot of good options for both tea and coffee and if you like cream top, the cream top cold brew is pretty solid. My friend doesn't like the lavender buds they put on the lavender cream, so if you're the same, make sure to ask to take them off! Their popcorn chicken is also pretty good -- juicy without too much breading. I really want to try their ice cream at some point! It's a good study and work space but it might take a little bit before you're able to sit down. WiFi is pretty good, and the parking lot in the back isn't really time-enforced! read more

My friend had the coffees tho and said the flavors matched well with the coffees not too sweet or overpowering for the uba and butterfly pea. But man the ice creams are where it's at!
