I was ready for something yummy and delicious. So I thought I would try this place. But this was terrible. I got their taro milk tea. It was very powdery like it wasn't the right ratio for the recipe. And I did ask for less ice, but it was hardly any ice in there. There was so much mix of the taro that it, sunk to the bottom of my cup, which I've never experienced before drinking taro milk tea. Also, the store just looks pretty dingy and unkept. My husband and I really like this boba place so I'm sad to make this review. Whether this is on purpose or not-- I am still disappointed. I told my husband that the large and medium size looked very similar. I kept them to compare sizing with water, and they are not different in size. I've attached a video to show this as well. I like that you can customize each drink with toppings & choose your sweetness level and amount of ice. I tried the Tiger Milk Tea with honey boba and 50% sweetness. It was pretty good. I visited this boba place today for the first time. I waited forever to have somebody wait on me. The water from the sink was running full force and it kept running and running and running the entire time I waited. So I had to go near the back I told him we're going and ask for somebody in the back to come and help me. He finally came out. I wish I would've gotten his name. He spoke Rude. He had purple (or some color blue or purple in his hair and he was tall & skinny.) He told me I needed to order on the tablet. So I did but needed help. He was gone to the back again. Used to visit this spot a lot and I loved it but never tried it after they relocated. I'm glad I did today because I was not disappointed, both drinks were so refreshing and weren't too surgery either ! We got size small and it was more than enough . Here's an idea: Move to a new location with worse air conditioning and giant windows that face the southwest making the sitting area a greenhouse. Then make sure there is no parking because this is a busy shopping center and fool yourself that you will get all this foot traffic when in reality everyone just drives to the store they want and goes in that one place because no one walks this shopping center. Next, dial down the speed to about 1/10 of what it was at the old location, even with three people in there it took it nearly 20 minutes to get our drinks and there were like 3 groups ahead of us waiting. At the old store they would have my Tiger or Thai tea ready before I was done with paying and signing my credit card receipt. Boba Fiend really biffed it with this move and whoever is manning the ship now. read more

For the regular size "like", it would would be best to get the larger "fiend" size for an extra $1 since a regular is already close to $6. Don't forget to check in for a free topping! I ordered a regular sized trifecta that was milk tea, Thai tea, and taro. It was good, but I did finish relatively quick due to the ice. Next I tried the fiend size matcha jasmine milk tea. This definitely took my friend longer to finish, but the matcha made his tongue have a dry aftertaste for some reason. This was a cozy place with several tables. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, yes they get busy but the longest you'll wait for your drinks is 10mins not 40mins like some people say. Sly slush is amazing. Krypteanite is stunning as a color but it's giving "Brat" and I'm here for it. I came for red bean slush and it was sold out. Then I wanted agar boba and that was also sold out. I was a little bummed because some of the drinks you can't order with dairy-free milk. I wanted one of the popular drinks but was told that they couldn't do it with almond milk. So, I ended up ordering a mango slushie with boba in the bottom. My friend ordered a milk tea with boba. He enjoyed his drink. The boba was yummy. It's kind of hard to sit inside and have a conversation because the blender keeps going off. We had to keep pausing out conversation when the blender was so loud. I've been here dozens of times each and every year since I moved to Rancho. Probably spent thousands of dollars here throughout the years. But I came by last Wednesday Oct 4 and was just thoroughly appalled and shocked at the current state of affairs here at Boba Fiend. The high school kid working the counter was flat out rude. No smile, said the minimum amount of words, was very short in his comments and conversation, and you could just tell he didn't want to be there or cared to be there. They had signs all over the place that they were out of brown sugar boba. Ok that's fine, then give me the regular boba. He looks at me like I'm stupid then looking at the sign says with an incredulous voice, "we're out of boba." Oh ok.... how am I suppose to know that when you write out of brown sugar boba, you meant to say all boba? Or that your standard boba is made of brown sugar. While waiting for my drink the next 2 groups also asked for boba, only for this high school kid to give them the same stare and bad customer service saying "were out of boba." Maybe the problem isn't the customers maybe you should've been clearer that your out of all boba. Hmmmmm.... that's a thought. Or even if all boba in the world is made out of brown sugar, pretend like I don't work in a boba shop, and just write all boba. Save yourself the aggravation and attitude. And that leads to another problem. How is a boba place out of its main ingredient? It's like a Chinese restaurant being out of rice. Or a pizza place out of dough. Or a taco place out of tacos. Or a gas station out of gas. Now that is absurd!! You might as well close down for the rest of the day!! Why are you even open when you don't have your bread and butter? Let me tell you how mad I was. I was so mad that after I ordered, he asked if I wanted a stamp card. And you know me. Anything that I can do to eventually get a free drink, I'm all for it!! But on this occasion, I was so disgusted by this kid that I declined a stamp card!! Isn't that crazy!?!? The whole experience here was just terrible. If it wasn't for all the years and experiences I've had here throughout the decade, thru the ups and the downs, I would definitely give this place 1 star. But because of our long-standing history, I'll give it 3 stars. But please do something about that kid's attitude. Put him in the back or something, anywhere but the front. Send him to a customer service class. Something!!! Because with so many boba shops opening every month in Rancho, you need to adapt or risk going out of business. And having this kid work the front is a quick and easy way to drive customers to your competition. And if that happens and you guys close, remember this kid's attitude. The flavor of the almond coffee milk tea was stronger, but we enjoyed both and would come back to try other flavors.
