Tasty food freshly made not too spicy, prices are a bit high and the meals should have more variety for sides. Service was good not too long of a wait time. I have heard rumors about how tasty the food was at Boba House. I thought it was just Boba. Wrong. "Don't forget to order a chicken bowl," they said. Really?I ok. So I did, only I didn't order a bowl. I ordered a FEAST: Broccoli Chicken. Beef Lo Mein. Shrimp Kung Pao. Mongolian Beef. All A LA CARTE SIZE with steamed rice on the side. These are VERY nice portions. HUGE portions ok. I love it. The smell was intoxicating. I waited 12-15 minutes. No problem. When it comes to food, you want to wait a bit - not too fast or it's suspect, - not too slow or you think twice about going back. The food is delicious. I measure every Chinese Food restaurant with my favorite dish: MONGOLIAN BEEF. This place is good, really good. The MG is SPICY! Just the way I like it though it's usually just sweet elsewhere. So why not 5 stars? Hmmm. Two small reasons. This place is small so you can't bring a big group here. It's meant more for to-go than to eat your feast there. AND...I don't like styrofoam. The food was mediocre for the price. For 3 people it cost almost $100 and we got only a couple dishes. The fried rice was bland and the orange chicken was just okay. I frequent this place every week like an addiction to boba, hence the name of this place. The owner knows all her customers well and it is always a delight visiting this place! My recommendations are: Beef Broccoli A La carte, King Pao Chicken Rice Bowl, Mongolian Beef Ala Carte. I call in my orders and always ask if the food is spicy, they can make it less spicy or no spice at all. Favorite drink is Iced Cappuccino! The food here was pretty good, we ordered Kung Pao bowl with fried rice, it was spicy enough for my taste, the chicken was tender, then had orange chicken bowl, usually we've had the chicken coated with flour and deep fried but this wasn't, so it was a little different but tasty. And we ordered fried shrimp, this was real good with their shrimp sweet sauce which was real good, next time I'll ask for 2 containers of this sauce. I've never been disappointed here! Even the customer service exceeds my expectations. They are genuinely nice. On my visit 02/27/2022 I placed an order to-go, was told it would be ready in 15 minutes so I went outside to wait in my car and put the timer on my phone. I was going to go back in, but at about 10 minutes the owner brought my order out to my car. That was so nice of her and I totally didn't expect it. I also like that they just give you the food in their supplier boxes instead of bags, you can use it as a tray while eating in the car and it feels less wasteful because they're repurposing what they already have from their supply orders. The menu is clear and straight-forward. They have bowl and plate options for the same dishes. The food is tasty, and I do prefer this place over other local asian food take-out restaurants. I believe it is a family-run business as I never really see employees aside from the owners, so please support and be kind :). read more

Usually service and food are very good. This trip was horrible. Not sure if it's Covid and they are just over whelmed or what but they are a hot mess. Called in order. They said 40 min. I said never mind can't wait. She said oh no your order is small so 20 min. I said are you sure??? Still waiting and been over an hour I went back in to check and they hadn't even started on it. They've got all the typical Chinese fast food meat n rice dishes like broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef, etc. I went for the orange chicken which was dark meat pieces of fried chicken in a light sauce, a couple pieces of broccoli and some carrot over short grain white rice. Next time I'll ask for it spicy cuz it's pretty plain. It's still very good though, not overly salty or drenched in sticky sauce. Plus it seems that the place is very clean and the owners/chefs? The best boba in Santa Maria, which does not say much at all but it is a great place to go nonetheless. The people here are very friendly, and service is good, wait time is excellent. I'm going to breakdown the review by boba and food. The boba drinks are solid, delicious and like I said the best you will find in Santa Maria. I am a fan of Taro but I wish there was more variety of drinks here. If you're local you won't be disappointed. If you're used to LA or Bay Area type boba places, you might need to relax and accept the limitations of the area. Boba House isn't a bad option at all with all this in mind. Food is hit or miss depending on what you like to eat. Pot Stickers are excellent here, I almost always order them. Rice Bowls are an affordable option but don't expect too much here, go with the a la carte options if you want to actually eat a full meal. read more
