I was driving by and I literally did a double take when I saw the chalkboard that was advertising boba outside. Boba? In Downey? No...we just have one Boba Loca and that's pretty much it for tea shops. Intrigued, I turned around and parked in the lot of what previously was an innocuous donut shop. They've transformed the space into a chic little boba shop, with cute decor and inviting seating. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and what you get is a super chunky cup a la Half and Half. I balled out with one of their Creations, but normal milk teas are just $3.25 and INCLUDES the first topping for free! That's more than what I can say for a lot of shops now. Additional toppings are a standard $0.50. Their menu is vast, and carries a lot of inventive mixes, but there is also the normal tea flavors. I tried the Polka Dots, which is Horchata snow milk, red bean, and boba. So good! It wasn't too sweet, and the red beans added an interesting texture to the drink. The boba was firm and chewy, just the way I like it. I absolutely cannot wait to tell everyone I know in Downey about this place. I really hope their business thrives, especially since they are in between a high school and an elementary school. Super cute little dessert/boba location! We were casually looking on Yelp to go get a treat after dinner, and stumbled across Boba Indeed's menu. What really Hooke did in was the Honey Toasts they offered. Upon arrival, about 8:25 pm on a Tuesday- it was pretty crowded- and the location itself is somewhat small and limited seating. There is outdoor seating from what it seems, however, it was a cold evening so we stayed inside. Once we looked at the menu, the Honey Toasts that we initially came for, had an asterisk next to it- saying that it took at least 25 minutes to make and get served. So, we passed on that. Instead we each got our own dessert cup. I got the strawberry cheesecake. Angel food cake on the bottom, topped with ice cream, strawberries, cheesecake pieces, Pocky, and whip cream. Super delicious! I can't remember the exact price, but it was around the $6-$7.50 range. Pretty fair pricing for the amount you get. Overall, it was a great experience. I've driven past this place numerous times and never thought to stop by until I had a serious craving for milk tea! Cute design concept: modern rustic boba shop in Downey with plenty of sweet options. They have everything from flavored teas, milk teas, blended ice drinks, ice cream floats, flavored sodas, slushies, lemonades, and hot drinks. There's also a variety of toppings from red beans, regular boba, flavored popping bobas, jellies, and pudding. At the counter they have another menu with small bites and desserts such as waffles and brick toast! Oh, did I mention that their menus are enormous?! Holy moly! Two friends and I were looking for a boba spot in Lynwood. Drove to Downey. Didn't find what we were looking for at the first stop. Then, found this place on Yelp. We liked the photos and reviews so we made the trip south from where we were. At first, we almost missed it because the Donut Shop sign is still up. BUT we saw the sandwich board and came inside. Pretty awesome place they have here. It seems like they opened not too long ago. They still have the donut sign right where there old donut shop use to be. The inside looks roomy with plenty of room to sit. The business is right near a Mcds so you can pick up their wifi if you need it. That said, their drinks are delicious. I've tried their horchata, polka dot and green tea blended boba drinks. I would without a doubt get them again but would consider trying a few more so that a get a taste of everything else. The staff is great. They don't rush you at all and the menu itself is simple in the sense that everything is categorized nicely. Heard about this new and local boba spot, so decided to give it a try. Wow, the drinks here were amazing! Decor: the inside of the boba place has a nice, modern chic look to it. There is sufficient amount of tables and chairs if you do decide to enjoy your drink there. The outside of the place still has the donut sign up which confused me at first, but I've read that they are working on getting the license to remove it. That will definitely help out this establishment and garner the attention it needs. Service: the staff here is pretty friendly and knowledgeable, which is great when trying to decide on what drink to order. Usually doesn't take long for your drinks to be made either. Parking: there is parking on the side of the location, so no hassle there. Drinks: I've tried multiple drinks here and liked all of them! My favorite one as of this moment is the vanilla oreo; it's not too slushy, actual bits and pieces of oreo, and the not too sweet. The boba here is perfect; not too soft, not too hard. It has a perfect texture and doesn't get hard so easily. I would definitely like to come back and explore more of their options. This location served the pinnacle of boba tea. Their Thai tea is on the perfection scale between too sweet and not sweet enough. Just perfect. However, when I placed my order on Friday through UberEats I didn't receive that perfect Thai Tea along with the crispy heart warming chicken dumplings. The driver had marked the order as being picked up and on the way. Happily I gazed at the screen as it notified me "they're on the way" all too sudden it took a turn. The driver message me and said "Your order has been canceled" quickly I replied that the app said they have it. No response then suddenly the app says they ran into issues. I thought it was odd. If they truly did run into issues why accept the order? Since I have had drivers steal my order before I thought I should contact the store directly to confirm if the driver did pick it up. I call and ask what happened to the order I placed? Did the driver really pick it up? They said that the driver did not actually pick it up which restored my confidence in the driver for not stealing my order. Then I ask why was it canceled? They responded "We tried calling to tell you that we don't accept food orders after 9:30 pm." I said to them that I placed the order at 9:29 pm. They countered and said "No. You placed it at 9:32 pm." Their argument was untrue. Since when is it good customer service to debate with a customer on who is right? Sounds like ordering here means joining the debate club. I would like to note that I took a screenshot of the app as soon as I placed my order and it was 9:29 pm. Additionally, it is impossible to place an order after 9:30 pm since the app automatically shows it as closed as soon as it hits 9:30 pm and I know this since I tried making another order for my dad after I placed my order but wasn't able to. Following this unpleasant experience I ordered two more times on days to follow by screenshooting my order time and comparing it to the receipt. From this experiment I learned that the order time is accurate. When I ordered at 8:26 the receipt showed 8:26, when I ordered at 12:43 it showed 12:43. In conclusion, I never got the late night snack from heaven I was craving that Friday night. I have also learned that the employee I spoke to on the phone was a liar and now all I have now is to write this review in hopes I will feel better by exposing their integrity. read more

After a day spent swimming and eating pizza me and my girlfriend decided to get some dessert. We did the typical routine, we hopped on Yelp and went in search of a place we've never tried before with great reviews. We came across Boba Indeed and after looking at the pictures we just had to try it! Local- Driving down the street it's very hard to miss it since there's a huge boba indeed sign! The business has a very simple design, there's not much on the walls except this very cool looking flower thing. Has a very modern and hipster feel to it. Customer Service- The customer service was great, since it was our first time we didn't really know what to pick but the cashier was very helpful in explaining to us the different drinks. We got our order in and it was out in a couple of minutes! (P.s keep your receipt number as they as for it back , and there is not public restrooms) Our Order- After receiving our order I had to wait a minute or so since my girlfriend had to run across the street to use the restroom at the McDonalds. Waiting was hard, as what was in front of me looked delicious!!! I ordered the Green Tea Parfait and my girlfriend ordered the Horchata Slushie with boba. The looks matches the taste as both of our choices were really good 5/5 for both. Definitely recommend both. Overall- Overall this place is a great place to visit, their menu is HUGE so there is something for everyone. When this place first opened it was good but sadly it seems they have gotten LAZY and CHEAP. I hate having to worry that I'm being OVERCHARGED and this place will do just that. The prices had increased some time ago and they have yet to update it anywhere. Instead what u get is FALSE ADVERTISING! I dont mind dishing out the money for the things I want but at least properly inform me of the cost before hand. If your gonna increase the prices then show me you respect my money by at least investing in a menu with the correct prices. During my visit I tried their lavender milk tea with boba and my boyfriend got the matcha milk tea with boba as well. When we got our drinks the boba was so soft and squishy, I loved it! The drinks were very delicious as well. My lavender tea had a perfect floral taste and wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. My boyfriend's tea was also very delicious, once again, not super sweet which I LOVED! However, the service is not that good. The girl that helped us seemed distracted and wasn't very friendly. Went here when I needed a boba fix. This did not hit. I ordered a seasalt jasmine tea and a jasmine milk tea. I feel like these were the most basic drinks you could order at a boba shop but somehow they managed to mess it up. They both tasted like watery nothing and the line was long too!
