Came here today around 1pm. I placed my order via the self order kiosk. As I was ordering, I had a question regarding one of the special drinks "Anything for Selena." There was no description on the kiosk as to what was in the drink, so I asked the gentleman inside what was in the drink. He seemed a little flustered and too busy, answering my question as he was doing something. As I continued to order, I saw him leave. It looked like he went out to grab some supplies. I completed my order and continued to wait. Five, 10 minutes passed by and I went to go check on my drink. Still there was no one inside. My husband had to go there and wait for someone to come back and was asking where my order was. When the gentleman came back, he seemed rude and gave my husband an attitude saying, "I know, I know." I think it is a little unprofessional to not be fully stocked, when you open at 11:30 AM and it's already been a few hours past and still you don't have any supplies. I enjoyed the drink, but my husband and I didn't really like the texture of the boba. We felt like it could have been a little softer in texture. It seemed a little chewy to. Ordering takes place through a tablet in front of their shop and we got our drink in a reasonable time frame. I think that the drinks we ordered were good and I'd rate it as 3 stars: A-OK (per yelp's scale). I mean that I would definitely buy a drink here again as it does the job if you are craving a tea to go with your meal at Steelcraft; however, it didn't impress on me that I should come to Bellflower to specifically have a drink here. It's the perfect combination of brown sugar and matcha. If you're not big on sugar, 75% might be a good cap. Stopped by after dinner during a weeknight and there wasn't a line. We ordered the brown sugar milk and the brown sugar matcha. Boba consistency was good and tasted even better. I had been to the Steelcraft in Garden Grove and Long Beach before, but not Bellflower. I was planning on stopping by Smart & Final just up the street, and so I wanted to check out Steelcraft, which is on the southeast corner of Oak St and Bellflower Blvd. When I arrived, I was trying to find a parking spot on the east side of Bellflower Blvd, but all the spots were taken! I was aimlessly driving around the lots on either side of Oak St, and I didn't know where the other public parking lots were. Since Smart & Final wasn't too far from Steelcraft, I figured I'd just park in front of Smart & Final and walk over to Steelcraft. After about a 5-10 minute walk, I arrived at Steelcraft. I didn't have much time because I had to be somewhere else shortly after, and I wasn't too hungry since I had eaten a burrito somewhere else, so I chose Brown Cup Boba. A few of the eateries offered some pretty tasty food, but alas I will have to save them for another day. This boba shop has ordering windows on both sides of its assigned shipping container, and I only remember seeing as many employees inside said container. Since I wasn't planning to go back inside Steelcraft, I ordered on the streetside window. There wasn't anyone in line, but the employees were busy preparing drinks for customers at the other window, so it took about a minute before one rang me up. I didn't mind that short wait, especially since I had spent about 5 minutes studying the menu between the order and pickup windows. On the menu, they have milk teas, smoothies, frappuccinos, iced teas, and Brown Sugar. Brown Sugar seemed like the odd one out amongst these five, and there were three choices for Brown Sugar: Milk, Matcha, and Creme Brulee. I recalled having a similar Creme Brulee drink at The Alley in Fountain Valley, and I loved it! Therefore, I was sold on the Brown Sugar Creme Brulee hoping that it would be up to par with The Alley. Drinks at Brown Cup Boba come in 2 sizes: 16 oz and 24 oz. The 24 oz drinks are at most $1 more expensive than the 16 oz drinks, so the 24 oz is definitely the better buy regardless of which drink you order. When the male employee was ready to take my order, I told him I wanted the 24 oz Brown Sugar Creme Brulee. To my surprise, he mentioned boba was included at no additional cost. I didn't see an order tablet anywhere except for a handheld Clover device in his hand, which resembled an old-school phone the size of a brick. He was using that brick-sized device to take my order, and then placed it in front of me so I could pay. I was wondering where the receipt would come from, but the device also prints the receipt. After paying, he handed me a small buzzer as well as a stamp card with one stamp on it. If I purchase 5 more drinks, my next small drink would be free. Not bad considering other counterpart stamp cards would need almost twice as many stamps for the free drink. The wait wasn't too long; I think I spent more time deciding what drink to get than I did waiting for my Brown Sugar Creme Brulee. I saw him seal a drink, but I didn't think it was mine because the buzzer didn't go off. He motioned to me it was indeed my drink and that he didn't signal for that buzzer to go off. Seemed pointless to hand me the buzzer, but I'm sure it would come in handy during peak hours. When he handed me the drink, he specifically said *not* to shake the drink since it could mess up the pudding inside. Interesting he specified this because I remember at Sunright Tea Studio, a sign on their wall tells you to shake 17 times. However, he told me to shake 0 times lol. I picked up a boba straw next to the display of macarons, and I poked the straw through the lid. I only took one sip and started to walk away until he asked me if I liked the drink. I remembered most of the creme brulee was stuck on the bottom and the sides of the cup, but there was enough flavor for me to say, "first sip tasted good!" I don't know if that meant he would have been willing to remake the drink if I didn't like it, but there was no need. I was confident enough that I'd enjoy the drink well enough to save him that trouble. Did I say I enjoyed the drink? Yeah? Well apparently, I enjoyed it so much that by the time I got back to my car, I was pretty much done with it lol. I did have to stir the drink quite a lot since, like I said, the creme brulee wasn't mixed well with the drink, but in spite of that, I enjoyed the drink well enough to give 5 stars. I liked the boba in this drink as well. Nice and QQ. If I really had to be choosy, I would choose The Alley's Creme Brulee drink over this one, but the difference is definitely not enough to drop my rating down to a 4. Short wait + tasty drink = happy me. And next time I visit Steelcraft Bellflower for a bite at any of the other vendors, I'm definitely stopping by Brown Cup Boba afterwards for a drink on the road. Highly recommend! Looking forward to my next drink here! :) read more

Nice to know there's a legit boba place in Bellflower and the menu is pretty unique compared to many other boba places that we frequent in Cerritos. I had the house milk with half sugar and it had a strong but pleasant tea flavor and a creamy sweetness that reminded me of Hong Kong milk tea, which is one of my favorites. My wife wanted decaf and had the coconut milk tea with half sugar and we forgot to switch to alt milk, so we'll try it again with either almond or coconut. Alt milks are only 50 cents which is reasonable. I'm just glad to see so many decaf options so we can enjoy a late night boba run. Oh! Quick stop by Steelcraft, and saw this boba spot opened. Got to try their brown sugar creme brûlée boba and matcha milk tea. Both were delicious! The boba was cooked just perfectly, chewy and soft. They whisk the matcha (not powder base) a hint of sweetness. If you like fruit tea, they also have a variety of fruit teas. Substitution on milk also available. You can adjust your sweetness and ice levels to your liking. The staff there was really friendly and explained to us how to properly drink the brown sugar to get the full experience! I've tried brown sugar milk tea at other places, but they just don't compare to the one at Brown cup boba! The added crème brûlée adds an amazing texture and taste! The service here is always pleasant, the staff is always nice and efficient.
