I like this Boba King as it is typically the most consistent location on the North side despite how small it is. My go-to order is a large horchata slush with triple boba and the drink next to it is a large wintermelon with triple boba as well. Both the drinks and service are very good. I usually come here all the time & tip. Never had any complaints about the service or drinks. Going through some difficult times and couldn't afford to tip this 1 time. Today was very upsetting to hear the cashier tell the guy that was making my drinks to only put one scoop (just because I didn't give a tip). I had to take my MIL to run an errand and she wanted Boba on the way home, so we stopped by here, since it's by her house. Upon entering, I noticed there were no tables and chairs available for sit down and there were only a few people standing around, waiting for their orders on a Saturday late noon. The only 2 chairs I did see were behind/by the order counter (for employees?) I can't say much about this place, except it's a "typical" boba spot that offer your classic drinks and toppings. They do offer a stamp card, which is always a plus for boba lovers. My son ordered a mango slush which ended up looking like a mango milk tea after about 20 minutes. Lol the matcha milk tea I had with lychee coco jelly and boba was too sweet, even with the amount of ice in it that fully melted w/i 20 minutes. My MIL, had a taro milk tea that she, I guess was ok with, as she didn't comment on it. Overall, there isn't much to rave about as far as drinks go, but the lady who took our order was nice. :) I suppose this place could satisfy a boba craving that one may have? Idk. It was tasty, but a heavy hand was used with the cinnamon. Ordered a cookies and cream smoothie and it was tasty. Tasted the cookies. The menu was digital and easy to see. Prices were high compared to other boba restaurants, but I understand small businesses are struggling during this difficult time. I would return to try something else. Had my fiancé pick me up some boba from here. I got a rose milk tea with boba and OMG it was soo good. First off, I really like the texture of their boba. It was the perfect consistency and on the softer side which I love. The rose milk tea flavor was a bit on the sweeter side so next time I'll get it less sweetened but overall I really enjoyed the taste. Terrible customer service. The manager (definitely on the actual manager, at best employee covering for the manager) is horrible. She tried to gaslight me into telling me she didn't make my drink incorrectly. I showed her a video of the same drink, from the same location, and she tried to tell me it was a different drink. The drink I've been ordering and drink from 3 different locations for years! She then tried to say the straw being put in. Make it look the same. I put the straw in and magically it wasn't the same. *Shocker * Then she tried to "match it" to my photo by pouring it 3/4 out and filling it with milk. I told her it was definitely not correct and she said well at least try it. I did and ended up with tea all over me because it was over filled and the lid wasn't on all the way. After being frustrated and needing to leave to avoid staining my silk shirt (unsuccessfully)... I told her just keep it. She offered me a free card to get a new drink later. So, not only did I not get my drink. I also not have a wrecked silk shirt that's been worn ONE FREAKING TIME! I have receipt for both and photos. Maybe corporate will see this and make it right with the proof I have and will happily send in! I'm not holding my breath but don't go here if a female "manager" is on duty. So yummy! We have tried the regular, Hokkaido, coffee, and horchata milk tea, all except the horchata was a hit for us. The horchata was fine, just wasn't for me. The honey boba is also soft and has that nice honey taste unlike some boba spots. We also have gotten the honey dew in both water and milk blended, lychee with lychee jelly and strawberry with kychee and my daughter loves them all. Been waiting for this location to open for months! Been a fan of Boba King on Ann, and I was excited to hear this location was going to open soon because I live closer to this one! Once I saw they were open I went on grand opening day for sure! My go to is always Black Milk Tea, so I ordered that and another 2 for my parents as well.
