Short and sweet review. Plenty of parking, the boba was pretty good. Service was nice too. They actually greeted me when I came in. They've got a small seating area and have these claw machines at the corner. I love that you can write notes on their chalkboard. I love their logo and their cup designs. My gauge for good boba places is if their signature milk tea, earl grey/black tea is good. Not too milky, I can taste the tea and their drink was pretty good. When I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back to try more.

Finally got to try this boba shop as my mom was getting a haircut nearby! It's a cute shop with a small interior for 3 seats by the window and two table tops for gaming! They also have a claw machine with Labubu keychains. I ordered on their self service kiosk and got two drinks of mango passion and strawberry passion. Took about 5 minutes for our orders to be done. Refreshing, made exactly like we needed, and it was so fun to pass the time while playing monopoly on their gaming table tops. Would come here again!

Stopped by this new boba spot today around 4pm and had such a great experience! The staff working at the time were incredibly helpful, patient and attentive. One of the team members noticed my son trying to use the claw machine and needing change and before I could even say anything, she kindly asked if we needed some. That level of thoughtfulness really stood out to me. I also tried the banana matcha for the first time and it was AMAZING. So perfectly balanced and refreshing. Our drinks came out super fast, and the added bonus of being able to play games while we were there made it even more fun. Great service, great drinks, and such a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I've been waiting for this spot to open since I was really excited to have a new boba shop open nearby without having to drive too far. It's finally opened and I knew I had to come right away. The store is very cute inside and I love how customers can write on the walls with the pens. I think that's a very unique touch. The store only has 2 tables that you can play games on which is very fun and a definite plus if you're hanging out with friends. I ordered a total of 3 drinks which was the Oreo Milk Tea, Ube Horchata, and the Guava Blush w/ Lychee Bits and Aloe Vera. Points: * The Oreo Milk Tea was mediocre. The tea inside was more overpowering and had a bit of Oreo crumbs. It listed that there was Oreo cold foam on the drink but we didn't taste as many Oreos as we were anticipating. * Ube Horchata was decent. I enjoyed the Ube but I feel like there was no hint of Horchata whatsoever. The prescience of horchata was lacking. I was a bit disappointed with the drink. * Guava Blush is okay as well. I feel like it was refreshing and I like how it came with the lychee bits and aloe vera. Final Verdict: Solid 3.8/5. I like the interior of the store, I find it very cute and I like how it comes with the table games. There's also a claw machine in the corner of the store filled with cute plushies and even Labubus! I found the drinks decent since it didn't stick out. If I visit again, I do want to try their other signature drinks to see if those are better to enjoy since I didn't enjoy the ones I ordered as much which is okay!

Ordering counter

I was a little disappointed at the first impression...I walked in and they didn't even say hello. I walked up to place my order and he just stared at me. He didn't ask if I was ready to order or anything. Just stared at me. It was a bit uncomfortable and awkward. I placed my order and asked questions since it was my first time and he (the clerk) was just uninterested and even looked annoyed. I was a little shocked by this since my order was over 80 dollars at a boba shop for god sake hahaha. We had never been here and wanted to try everything. I am praying the food and boba is as amazing as the yelpers indicated because if not then I just blew 80 bucks for nothing. Also, the price on the board is different from what they charge on my receipt which is concerning. When I asked about it they stated it's because I was using a card to pay, but they don't list anywhere that there was a different price for cash or card. I think that definitely needs to be posted somewhere. I looked all over and didn't see that posted anywhere. The store was tiny but cute. They had seats with table tops that had video games on it. Super fun for my daughter since we were waiting over 30 minutes or more for our drinks and food. The drink had a good flavor but the boba balls were overcooked which is very disappointing. I asked for mine to be less sweet but I guess maybe with matcha horchata that's not possible. I thought the flavor was pretty good but too sweet for my liking. My daughter and husband liked their drinks. Super disappointed with the Korean corn dogs. It was definitely not the Korean corn dogs we usually get. All it had was cheese. Usually Korean corn dogs have the hot dog in the middle and cheese around it and then the cornbread around that and fried. They definitely shouldn't advertise as a Korean corn dog because it wasn't. And they charged a lot for a small lfried cheese on a stick. Super dissatisfied by that. The calamari was over 14 dollars each yet the tray small and not very full. Super expensive for the quantity given. Plus it was undercooked. They had a batter around calamari that wasn't cooked through and was almost gooey. That was not pleasant. The popcorn chicken, I am shocked at how little the serving was compared to the 14 dollars each yet price. I think I counted maybe 10-12 tiny tiny pieces of chicken that they meticulously spread out and put tons of seasoning to make it appear to be more hahaha Wow! This place is a total rip off. The one GOOD thing about this place was that everything was made to order. They didn't have fried calamari or chicken lying around under a heat lamp. The food was all made once it was ordered which was the cause for the long wait time. I don't mind waiting when it's made to order and hot. I was really hoping it would be amazing! Had been craving calamari. Oh well. I guess it ended up being a waste of 85 dollars. That's unfortunate!!!

#1 Brown Sugar (Boba)

So happy to have a boba place open up nearby! This was my first time going and I was really excited to try it. My usual go-to at any boba place is brown sugar, so I decided to go with that for my first drink. Overall, I found it tasty and the boba was warm and fresh! They have a strawberry matcha drink that looks really good so I think I'll try that next. The inside of the shop was cute and clean. They have big chalk board walls that you can write on. My friends and I also really liked their free digital game tables. We ended up hanging out with our drinks and playing a round of CandyLand and Scrabble. Excited to try this place again!

Great new boba place. Drinks took a bit longer bff we to make but they've only been open a couple of weeks. Service was good and friendly. They have a couple of table top video games you can play while you wait or if you're just lounging there which is nice. Forgot to take pictures of the drinks but they were good. We got a couple of mango creams, Guava blush and honeydew electric butterfly. All were really good. Got no ice in the guava blush and honeydew electric butterfly and they didn't skimp which was great. We'll definitely be back.

Good spot for boba drinks! I especially like them offering free video games to play while enjoying our order. The decor is very minimal as is the norm for this type of business. The team there was very knowledgeable and quick to fulfill our order.

A new place for us, will definitely come back and try more things. Kids really like strawberry smoothie and the tiger tea. I like the mango passionfruit tea.

Per birthday boy request; the kids wanted to come back to Boba pub! They love the drinks, and I have to get the popcorn chicken. Juicy, crunchy, and spicyyy The kids love the environment. Very family friendly with game tables, claw machine that actually works, and their drawing board is a hit! The employee, Jenny was very sweet, patient, and welcoming with all the kids. Definitely will be back!

I had got a jasmine milk tea and I hated it, it had a really strong tea flavor and nothing else, not much milk or sugar. But maybe that was just preference. The oreo coffee my friend got was good though!! It was kinda small. The area looks nice and there was a table to play games! The servers were nice too. Not sure if I'd come back...

#16 Mangonada

Boba Pub opened not too long ago and I've already been here multiple times! It's an adorable boba shop tucked away in a small plaza/strip mall. Parking can be a little tricky but definitely not impossible. I have tried their mangonada and matcha latte with oat milk. The matcha latte is on the bitter end and not too sweet, which was nice in my opinion. Mangonada is delicious and rich in flavor. I love the refreshing mango slushy consistency. I introduced this drink to my mom and she's in love! It satisfies mangonada cravings. There's a cute claw machine inside the store with labubus occasionally. The store also has cool tables that you can play games on and I believe this place is pet friendly too. Drinks come out fast and cashier was helpful when I didn't know what to order the first time I came here. I'll come back again just to get their mangonada

Boba Pub is the BEST thing that's ever opened in South San Jose! I come here every single week and it just keeps getting better. The magonada is out of this world. My family and I love it so much, super refreshing, packed with flavor, and always hits the spot. The calamari is perfectly crispy and seasoned, seriously addictive! And I have to give a special shoutout to Zane. He is so sweet, welcoming, and always goes out of his way to make customers feel appreciated. You can tell he genuinely cares and it makes every visit even more enjoyable. Everyone at Boba Pub is filled with kindness and has great energy it is a huge part of what makes Boba Pub feel like a community spot, not just a place to grab a drink. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out. Boba Pub is a must-visit, I recommend it to everyone!

Anyways regarding the drinks I actually think they tasted quite good, I got a "Wendy" and it didn't feel overly sweet or powdery which was really impressive. I also got the eggrolls which were pretty solid. One thing I found interesting was how they labelled everything very well - vegan, dairy, caffeinated, etc. Honestly more places should do that! Overall I definitely would be interested to come back and try out this place again. Their OJ Aloe Vera thing looks pretty interesting, it's on my commute to the gym so definitely happy to drop by.

The experience here used to be something special. About a year ago, I was a regular, and what kept…read moreme coming back was the freshness. The donuts were made to order, and I still remember the two young employees who worked there. They'd happily let you know it might take a few minutes because they wanted you to experience the product the way it was meant to taste. That kind of pride in what you're serving is rare, and it made a real impression. There's something different about that kind of enthusiasm coming from employees versus an owner. An owner has an obvious stake in selling you on something, but when the people making your food are genuinely excited for you to try it, that energy is contagious. You can't help but feed off of it. Fast forward to this year. My daughter loves coming here since we frequently visit the amazing Chinese restaurant next door (China Delight-highly recommend), so I've brought her a few times. Unfortunately, it's been a different experience. The donuts are always pre-made, and the focus seems to be more on cleaning and closing down than on having a fresh product ready for customers. To be fair, the staff is always friendly and I do appreciate a clean shop , but when I'm choosing between a spotless floor and a donut worth eating, I'd rather have the latter. I'll note that I usually come a bit after dinnertime, so maybe timing plays a role. But after a few visits with the same result, it feels more like a shift in priorities than bad luck. I genuinely hope this place finds its way back to what made it great. The bones are there. The location is great, the staff is kind, and clearly there's a customer base that wants to love this place. Bring back the fresh donuts and you'll earn those stars back!!

In addition to mochi donuts they sell hot dogs, coffee, and fruity tea. I was in the neighborhood so I stopped in for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. The shop was empty of customers; they must be busy in the mornings. They sell three donuts for $10.50, but they seemed to be out of quite a few flavors, so I ordered two chocolate and one Nutella. They are pre-made and stored in a glass case, unlike other places like Modo Hawaii that make them when you order. The donuts come in a nice box. They are large and dense and chewy, but weren't to my taste as I like them smaller and lighter, but that's just a personal preference. I'm not sure if I will go back, but I hope they do well at the Cottle location.
