I'm so glad this shop opened up! There are just a handful of good vietnamese drinks and sandwich places between Little Saigon and my home. I'm so happy this place is so close to me. I'm glad I stopped in during soft opening on May 1st. The space was totally remodeled. The previous restaurants here were dark and didn't fully utilize the space. It is now bright and wide opened and just a refreshing feeling walking in. I love the full window of fresh baked pastries as you walk in. They offered a free drink with sandwich so I tried the pho beef with added pate' with a mixed fruit drink. The sandwich was definitely full of shredded beef and a wonderful delicious taste of the pate' in a crispy baked bread roll. Great job all around. Friendly staff and beautiful decor. Ordered a combo and pork bahn mi. It was the soft opening special where you get a free drink so I got the coffee and fruit tea. Coffee had too much hazelnut flavor but the fruit tea was pretty good. When I got home I noticed they gave me a chicken bahn mi instead of my combo bahn mi. The chicken was good but I wanted to try their combo. The pork was more like char siu bbq pork but tasty. The veggie portion was on the short end so I wish they gave more pickled daikon/carrots. Nice interior design. Since it's a soft opening I won't count the mistakes against them. read more

Boban is a solid spot overall, but definitely not perfect. Drinks are on the pricey side, and their tablet ordering system is a bit clunky to use. The food itself is tasty -- the meat is flavorful -- but it's a little tough to bite into (I even ended up with some gum scrapes). For the price point, I'm not totally sure it's worth it. Service was okay -- not super slow, but not as fast as I expected either. I came in when the place was completely empty, and it still took a while for my order to be ready. The place is very minimalistic pretty and clean which is nice and welcoming, so there's that. Boban exceeded my expectations by a landslide when it comes to authentic AND fusion Vietnamese sandwiches. Not only was their bread fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside but their meat quality is top tier! We tried their beef pho, au jus, bbq pork and pate sandwiches with mixed fruit tea to wash them down. Absolutely delicious! My favorite was the au jus and beef pho. Packed with so much flavor and tender meat with crispy, fresh veggies! Can't believe it's only $8-$10 for a sandwich. That's a steal! The combo banh mi was delicious. My toddlers typically do not like banh mi baguettes but they both ate their entire sandwiches with no complaints! Baguette, meat, and veggies ratios were great. I ordered the Banh Mi and matcha banana latte! The Banh Mi is always so good. The matcha was a little bit bitter, but the banana added a sweet flavor. I would recommend the sea salt coffee over the matcha. read more

Have u ever tried to save a boba drink by putting it in the fridge overnight? Well, if you have, then this is what their boba is like- not soft and chewy delights, but more like days-old licorice left sitting in an air fryer. And the milk tea was the same experience. No flavor, watered down and just not worthy of being a drink. I couldn't bring myself to finish it- it felt like torture. The mixed fruit tea was also watered down with little flavor. Just not worth drinking- even my young niece was gravely disappointed. I had to apologize to her after I tasted it. The banh mi (bbq pork) was decent. Bread seemed fresh. Meat was generous. Smaller bread sizes, which doesn't bother me, but letting you know. Honestly, I don't know how this place has 4.5 stars?!?! Maybe people that have never ever had boba before frequent here? On the positives: the place is cute and would be a nice little hangout for youth. The service is amicable and they do appear to not be fully up-and-running... The ac still has that new plastics smell. But if that menu does not improve, I'm not sure how long they will be around. read more

Also,two banh mi sandwiches- bbq pork and combination with extra mayo and pate. I rate the Coffee 4.5 and banh mi get 3 because the baguette needs work. It was served dry and stale. I hope Boban's grand opening is different from its current soft opening because it's disappointing. It seems like a lot of their items are from Costco. When I saw the cookies in the glass, they looked very familiar. They looked like they were from Costco. We had a friend who is a fan of Costco's cookies taste test the cookies and she confirmed that he cookies sold at Boban were from Costco.
