    Tom Yum noodle soup (chicken)
    YY W.

Craving for noodle soup and found this on Yelp. Really wanted to love it since it is close to home; unfortunately it was quite disappointing. I ordered Tom Yum chicken noodle soup. Although it came in dark meat, chicken were tasteless and rough. Soup base was nothing like TY at all, it was exactly the same as their regular chicken noodle soup (my sister ordered) with a hint of spicy/tarty favor added but it was $3 more. Not worth it. Dining area was clean, the cashier was friendly, the guy who brought food to our table was polite hence 3 stars. I probably wont go back again. But if you want a quick lunch and a clean place to sit in, I suggest you to give it a try.

After three years, I'm back ! I don't live in the area so I didn't have a chance to come by until today. This place really has good prices ( in my opinion) I really enjoyed the bbq pork Bahn mi $7 ! The egg rolls were yummy ! I didn't have a chance to try the sesame balls or drinks, maybe next time. I love the buy two get one free on the Bahn mi. I bought a container of roasted peanuts for $3 and my Aunt enjoyed the peanuts. She loves nuts, so she knows her nuts. The ingredients were fresh ! I asked for the sandwiches to be cut in half. No problem. The service was super friendly ! The place was clean what more can you ask for.

BMC Pho is a fast-casual Vietnamese restaurant. Came here for an early lunch on a weekday and it was not busy. We were greeted by a staff member upon entering. It is a bit dated inside, but it is clean and there are several tables to sit and eat at. I ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup (essentially chicken pho) and my partner ordered the Chicken Curry with Vermicelli. After ordering, we were given a number to take to our table. Our food was brought out to us pretty quickly. Portion sizes for both items are great for the price. The Chicken Noodle Soup was packed with a lot of chicken. The broth is light and the chicken is tender. It came with bean sprouts, mint, and lime on the side. The Chicken Curry with Vermicelli had a tasty broth. There was a good Curry flavor although the broth was as thin as the Chicken Noodle Soup one. The carrots were cooked really well. They were soft but not mushy. There was also a lot of chicken in this dish. Overall, giving BMC Pho a 4/5. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. Prices are good and service is quick. This is a good spot for a quick lunch. Would recommend to others and would return tk try other items on the menu.

I've been coming here since they first opened. The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly. The price is right and the portions are generous. We'll keep coming back :)

Good Vietnamese dishes on the go! Great portions, good prices, and consistent quality. The service is always quick and friendly, and the place is clean and inviting with plenty of seating. You won't be disappointed, I promise. :)

Love this local. The food is amazing and the prices are fair. We've been going to this local since it opened and it never disappoints. Love coming here with my kids because there's always a variety to choose from no matter the weather BMC never disappoints. Tastes like home cooked meals! Their service is always very welcoming and when you done in they take your food to your table. Honestly 100% recommend !

    Large fried noodle party tray.
    Sherwyn H.

I was looking for a party tray of noodles for a potluck and BMC had it. I called in for an order of fried noodles a day before and they had it ready by the time I needed it . Since I called in , it was a tiny bit of a challenge to communicate on the phone since the accents were strong but still managed. They got my order correct and ready by the time I needed which was very important . The large fried noodle tray was good and fed about 15+ people . They do have a website you can order ahead of time , I suggest you order that way . I will definitely order from this location again in the near future for other party tray items .

Plain noodle soup with wide noodles
    Jasmine R.

I wanted to try this place since it's so close to my house. I got the plain noodle soup and the flavor was all right but not aromatic. They also forgot to give me bean sprouts which is unfortunate since I tipped. One last thing, there was no option online to change the noodle type. I like the thin noodles but this place apparently only serves the wide noodles which I do not like. Sadly will not be coming back.

    Menu as of 11/19/2024
    Jason S.

I ordered the special beef noodle soup, M1, based off the cashier's recommendation. The broth was solid, the noodles were flat and wide which I liked. They don't give as much meat as some other places I've gone to. I also prefer the beef that is served at other places. The tendon was solid though. The restaurant isn't that big but it does have a lot of booth seating around the perimeter of the restaurant. The cost to eat out has gotten noticeably higher the last few years. I would consider BMC's prices to be on the affordable side. I will be coming back to try their spring rolls and other noodle dishes. I love noodles and they have a menu with lots of noodle options. Hoping I find some that I really like.

    Marie T.

Good food, reasonable prices. Really really good eggsrolls! Another reason to like them. Great catering choices for pot luck style get together. Got the "kicker" platter, has pate chaud, sesame balls, eggrolls and shrimp rolls. $37! Great dish to bring and share without breaking the bank!

    Happy hour menu.

I did end up trying the lomo saltado with another protein (filet) and it was excellent. The meat was so tender and flavorful. I also discovered that you can get free noodles if you're still hungry for your pho, which I have opted to do a few times when I just want one (or two) more bites. The other thing is that it does get super busy during peak time, so I would definitely try to check in when you're closer to the restaurant and maybe run an errand or two if it the wait is long. Bad timing for lunch, too many people were waiting in line, dining inside. We waited for 20 mins at Daiso, another 20 mins outside restaurant. First, the service was awful. Nobody paid attention to us to bring us some iced water, forks, and extra noodles. Normally the servers asked us to refill the noodles, or served fast but today was disaster for us. Other people came later than us but the server served them iced water and took their orders not ours. What happened to us today? We sat at the tiny table in the corner and we barely moved to eat our foods, we ordered 3 items which were 2 beef belly phos and fried rice w shrimps. There was not any rooms available for all the foods including pho toppings, sauces, and other entree. We were not comfortable at all. And also, my wife and I couldn't eat the fried rice w shrimps. How can we eat w chopsticks or deep scoop shaped soup spoon? How hard is everything today? We tried to call the server for 2 forks but no one paid attention. Wow...wow.... I felt bad feeling about this restaurant for the first time. The service, attention, everything was not normal. Waiting time was 15 to 20 mins but we had to wait for 40 mins. Barely sat soooo tiny table. My wife got really upset at the service. She got an email about the lunch special, beef belly pho Mon to Fri 2 days ago. That is why we decided to go to eat today. We regretted to hit the rush hour and got badly treated by the servers. What can I say? Can I say "Do not send an email for promo event?" Really Bad day for us. No respect, no relaxation, no comfort foods.....

Anyways I saw that they had plenty of noodle dishes to choose from so decided to give it a go. Ordered the yukkaejang (spicy braised beef soup) with the rolling dumplings (both kalbi and kimchi). The dumplings were called rolling because I assume they were rolled out and shaped into balls - spherical meat stuffing balls covered with a thin dumpling wrapper. I've eaten dumplings my entire life but this type of dumpling was a first for me so I was very interested in trying this out. Turns out the dumplings were pretty good. It does fall apart pretty easily when picking them up with chopsticks to dip into the sauce which was a bit annoying, so you should be mindful and careful of that if ordering them. The yukkaejang was not the best I've had but it was still pretty good. Prices were fair and the quality of food was solid. I wish they served free water as they make you buy bottles of water if you ask them for water. But with all that being said, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

Unfortunately, while the food was great, the service was offputting to say the least. I understand we are in a strip mall, and I have very low expectations, but the girl serving us was surly and gave the vibe that are very presence was an annoyance to her. Any question we asked was responded with the an exasperated exhale. It clearly angered her that we didn't know how to use her point of service machine and was angry that we tried to order fried chicken, which is apparently not available anymore, but still on the menu so we got yelled at about that too. We tried to pay with the card, but apparently didn't do it right so it got scolded for that too. If the food wasn't so crazy kid, I would not come back but their front staff could take a long walk off a short pier.

The kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and gat kimchi are absolutely delicious. I heard that the owner makes everything in-house, and you can really tell how much care and skill go into the food. The staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming every time I visit. Galbitang (Beef Short Rib Soup) - This is honestly the best galbitang I've had in both OC and LA. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is always fresh and tender. Whenever I'm craving galbitang in the OC/LA area, this is the only place I go. Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. It's perfectly seasoned, and has just the right level of spice. As much as I love the galbitang, I think I actually enjoy the yukgaejang even more. Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu) - This place is known for its galbitang and seolleongtang, so I wasn't expecting much from the donkatsu... but why is it this good? The cabbage salad dressing that comes on the side is seriously addictive. The portion size is huge, there's no way I could finish it by myself. It has the crispy texture of Japanese katsu, while still having a great pork flavor of its own. I honestly think this could be considered one of their signature dishes. The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.
