I've been coming here since they've opened and hands down my favorite place to get high quality milk tea! It's a place needed after the over saturation boba chains. Even with reliable popular chains like Dings and Kung Fu Tea close by, I still prefer their boba. For me, you can really taste the quality of the tea. They have displays of the tea infront of the register you can smell. The owners are always excited and present and really love and care about this business. I tend to favor standard milk tea and matcha lattes. In their BobaPOP milk tea, they use Ceylon tea and it's just so so good and creamy. They have cheese foam and their boba is always perfect. They have a kiosk also inside to browse if you don't want to order with someone. I also REALLY recommend all their matcha milk teas. I always love matcha latte with oat milk. Worth coming in for. It's a small business, that is usually quiet in a bit busy area. Great place to work quietly if you need a place to chill and work (yes they have wifi!) Or just have intimate conversation. I ordered the Tie Guan Yin Fresh Tea with 70% sweetness, normal ice, and black pearls. It was perfect--smooth, aromatic, and not overly sweet. The boba was fresh and chewy, just the way I like it! The staff were friendly and efficient, even with a line forming from the opening buzz. You can tell they care about quality and customer experience. Definitely a new go-to boba spot in San Marcos! Went to the grand opening yesterday and split a buy one get one offer with my friend! I got the tornado Vietnamese coffee, which is the closest thing I've found to egg coffee in North County! It was good, although not as strong as I'm used to from other places. The flavor is there though, so I'm not mad about it! One feedback I'd offer is for the tornado or anything with a type of cream at the top, I would put the open lid instead of the sealed lid so customers can really enjoy the flavors! My friend's drink with the cheese cream had the right lid, but I had to try to sip my tornado cream with the straw through the sealed lid. The staff was nice, but you could tell they're still kinda new, which is expected. It also takes a little longer to make the drinks still, so make sure you're not in a rush when you go. The shop is tucked away in a little plaza but parking is easy and the decor is simple. I'm excited to go back and try their oolong milk tea and jasmine milk tea! read more

I absolutely love the environment and atmosphere of BoBaPoP. It's a great study spot for students, and an even greater place to get boba. Has great selections of milk teas, slushies, and if you are a matcha enthusiast like me, their matchas are one of my favorites around the San Marcos. The quality of their drinks are very well cared for, and once you get your order they offer adjustments if you aren't satisfied with the original drink. The interior has a very zen and minimalist design, the music they play adds to the calm, cafe ambiance. I come every Monday with my friends to study, I do however feel bad over the fact that we take the only big table that seats 6 in a group. Other that one big table, there are 4 more smaller round tables that seat 2-4 people. I can't wait to come again next week, great staff and a very wholesome owner. Cute boba shop with very slick ordering system. I got their standard black tea boba with regular milk, half sweet, regular ice. I'm from out of state and I can't say this is the best I've had and it was honestly very mediocre at best for boba but I didn't get a chance to try other places in the area so can't speak to comparisons based on boba availability in the area. I did drive very out of the way to come check it out due to the high ratings but it wasn't necessarily memorable and I was kinda disappointed with my drink. At the least, the pearls were over cooked past Al-dente and definitely too soft. The milk to tea ratio also seemed a little off where it was a little too much milk and so my drink tasted kinda like more milk than boba, but mostly the tea didn't taste super fresh to me but again, could have just been an off day which totally happens. I know this place is new so I'm sure I may have just come on an off day. It didn't seem like there were all that many choices for boba between Vista and Oceanside and this one was rated the best so would be worth giving it a shot and trying it out for yourself. Regardless service was absolutely excellent, loved the simplicity and slick ordering system, the staff and owner were super nice and helpful, and ambience/parking were on point. read more

This place was great! The interior is very minimalist lots of shades of grey but there is a good amount of seating and free WiFi, this could be a could study spot. The service was good the man at the register was really nice and offered to explain the menu items to us and help answer any of our questions. They have an assortment of flavors that I haven't seen in other boba shops so I was excited to try them. My friend got the green Thai tea she said it was good but couldn't discern a difference between regular Thai tea. I got the Tornado which is a coffee drink and it was amazing! The worker mentioned that they brew the coffee stronger and you could tell it was such a great coffee taste but still the best level of sweetness to be able to have a sweet treat. Had a chance to do some remote work and the atmosphere + drink was great to have. Great little boba shop right here in San Marcos. Had the Fresh Jasmine Green Tea with boba and the pearls were soft and chewy. Adjusted the sweetness to 50% but it was still plenty sweet without any of the bitterness. Loved this place! Delicious fruit teas, a variety of boba options, and the mango and marble matcha slushies were really good and very kid friendly. My mom got the Vietnamese coffee and said she loved how strong it was. It was super nice and aesthetically minimalist inside and the staff were very kind and accommodating. Sadly my family isn't from the area and just happened to get boba for the roadtrip home so we can't visit often, but if it was close to my house I'd definitely be a regular! I really enjoyed the brown sugar milk tea that I got here. The manager was working and was very knowledgeable on all the products and answered as many questions as I had so that was lovely. It's such a bright space that it would be perfect for studying or just sitting back and enjoying your sweet drink and maybe reading a book.
