Let's start with this: I have never given a favorable review to B&S. Typically my experiences have been unfavorable. Customer service is usually lack luster & lack serviceable. Lol This time, from just pumping gas, has always been friendly. The ladies at the register have consistently been warm & personable. Upon entering the service center, still warm & personable. Plus, the service manager is a WOMAN! WHAAAAAT?! So ot felt "safer," with noone "mansplaining. " Even the man that worked at the service center wasn't doing that, just explaining everything & kind. He even offered a ride back to work, so I didn't need to Uber back. They may become my new "car guy," since I haven't found one yet. I was rear ended and needed a tow after significant damage to my car. I specified that a flat bed would be required. While they were quick to arrive, a flat bed tow truck did not arrive and they left me stranded without a tow. I had to call a different tow company which cost $70 less than what Bobby and Steve quoted, so while it all worked out in the end, their lack of reliability made a stressful situation worse. read more

Avoid Bobby and Thieves! They don't stand by their parts and labor warranties. I had a ball joint replaced at this location. After 10,000 the ball joint almost completely failed. They warrantied the ball joint. 18,000 miles later the ball joint failed again! When I called they said it was pass the warranty for When I first did the ball joint not when they Redid the work! So two ball joints lasted 28,000! What a joke! The corporate manager told me to stop whining! read more

I brought my vehicle into Steven Bobby's auto shop with a breaking and grinding issue on my vehicle. They return my vehicle to me with the rotors locking had my vehicle returned to them three times and they still could not assess the issue. They endanger the life of me and my roommate who drives with me consistently every day. They stated that my E brake cable was snapped, but in all their evaluations said nothing aboutmy E break. charged me $643 and had my car towed three times on the final tow. I watch them drag my car with no dolly or flatbed truck while my car smoked behind the truck. The front desk team is very helpful, but their technicians are a very low quality and have no idea what they're doing. It took them four times to receive my vehicle before they found a liable issue in my eyes which they tried to charge me $700 to replace a $57 part. They are thieves and I really don't recommend going to them if I could do a negative review I would. I requested a refund for the damages they caused to my car because I'm going to have to pay another mechanic to fix all the issues that they caused they had my vehicle for over a week read more

Its been months now and i cant get over how disrepected I felt at this place. I bought a used vehicle for my business and took it here to get a used veh check. The results they gave were everything is in excellent condition but the rack & pinion had to be replaced. Said could not be repaired it was too broken. They gave a price of $1300 to fix it. I told them I couldnt afford at that moment but had another veh that i needed to sell. Was having an issue with the power steering and needed them to check if that needed to be replaced. (This is a $4k car in good condition. Just needed to get rid of it. They told me no problem bring it in. Theyll check it out and get it fixed cheap as possible so i could sell and then have them do the rack and pinion. When I brought car in there was a different guy named darren. When I told him the car wasnt worth much and just needed the bare minimum to get it sold he wanted me out of there. He told me that if they look at it its gonna cost $265 no matter what. Even if the only thing wrong is what i already knew. I was getting ready to leave and another guy stepped in and said no thats not right well look at and if its just power steering they would charge me around $100. I said ok. They had my car for 3 or 4 days. Then called me with 3k of repairs that you would never perform on a 4k car your trying to sell. They were charging me $265 again for diagnosis and told me that i should either do the repairs they said or nothing. Throw my car away. Heres where it gets good...i took my car back. In the same condition it was in. Wasted my time. Well after that i decided to take my other vehicle to another mechanic to replace the rack and pinion. The mechanic told me it had already been replaced and was in perfect condition. What they should me was staining from the previous repair. Ive driven the veh over 20k miles as it is a fleet veh. Has t lost a drop of fluid and is in great condition. They literally tried to rob me. Unless you have the money to do thousands in unneeded repairs this is t the place for you. I still feel so disrespected every time it crosses my mind. read more

It's always hard to write a review about the place that's fixing your car, because you end up spending a ton of money and feel bitter about the whole thing. Putting that aside, I was impressed with the level of service during my last visit. After an unfortunate incident involving a mouse and wires and chewing, I brought my car here to get checked out. The price tag nearly brought tears to my eyes, but they explained the repairs very thoroughly, even showed me the damage and explained how the repairs would be made, and the estimate matched the billed amount, so there were no surprises. I have always heard wonderful things about Bobby and Steve' s. My sister loves the one in Eden Prairie and she shared with me, the owner's philosophy on how they treat employees and that is enough for me to give it Five Stars. They believe by treating employees well, the end result will be happy, satisfied customers, and I applaud that! I have to be honest, I only stopped by to pick up my Living Social deal for car washes but the Clerk, and I hesitate to call Fabian a clerk, because he was so professional, well dressed, polite and well spoken, that I want to call him an Associate or something more. I had trouble getting my car situated in the car wash, and he actually came into the wash, and guided me. I also saw him go to the pumps and make sure the garbage was not overflowing and things were neat or that's what I think he was doing. My experience could have not have been any better. YES, I KNOW...I just went in to get my car washes but on that experience alone, I actually can't wait to go back and get an oil change or something. P.S. I heard they were really honest about the repairs/maintenance your car needs too! read more

Let's start with the fact that I am not a car person and have the actual worst luck in that dept. going about my day like normal when my check engine light comes on and I figure okay I'll figure that out later(I know), then it started flashing red and I was just close enough to get here! I obviously didn't have an apt and was worried about that, but the manager Erik was SO accommodating! He stopped what he was doing and totally saved my day. Turns out it was just a weird computer malfunction but I now have a favorite car dude and location. He was beyond nice and professional, the inside of the shop was clean and bright. I drove all the way to the cities from my hometown (I split my time betwen my hometown and the twincities.) It had already been a long trip and was excited to relax when I started to notice my tire pressure sensor showing my right-rear tire losing pressure at a very rapid rate. I stopped at multiple gas stations to fill my tire to make sure I did no further damage, got home, and immediately pulled the tire from my SUV and brought the tire in to BSAW West Saint Paul. Upon arrival, I was told the service center was closed for the day. Seeing that I was probably travel weary and a little frustrated, Melissa took immediate action. She called every tech in her service department! Thankfully, a tech named Javier answered the call, and came in on a Saturday night! All-the-while, Melissa made small talk with me, and really helped eliminate being stressed. Both Melissa and Javier were very patient, kind, and curteous! Huge props for a place that will RE-OPEN the service department to help a travel-weary customer! I highly recommend BSAW, the West Saint Paul location specifically (although my past dealings with the other locations have always been amazing). This has to be the worst shop I have ever taken a vehicle to. The engine died in my truck, so I have it towed in to get it looked at. They confirm the engine is blown and it will take a week to get the replacement in and another week to get it replaced. This was not an issue and they even finished it up when they said they would. Get the truck home and it didn't even make it one day before it was leaking oil. I bring it back to them and they say they see the leak, but want me to drive it around for a while and see if it stops. So sure, I do just that, only to see a larger puddle of oil under the truck each day. I bring it back in and they say they will get to it the next day. Here are where the lies begin. My truck sat there, unmoved from where I parked it, for almost a week. They say they added dye to the oil and found it is leaking at the rear seal. They say they can't get to it until the following Monday, so I take it home for the weekend. Drop it back off Sunday evening so they can start on it right away in the morning. So it sits, again, for three days. When they finally get to it, they tell me it is not the rear main seal (after they had "torn it all apart"), but another gasket near the intake manifold (if they actually used dye, shouldn't this have been obvious?). At any rate, they tell me they were "hoping" to have that fixed in a day or two. Fast forward almost another week and it is finally ready. Well fellas, it is still leaking a fair amount of oil. And there is no way in hell I am bringing it back to this shop. I am already out $10k from your terrible work and do not plan to be out another penny, at least to you. I will bring the truck to the dealer and whatever they find, I will send a bill directly to Bobby and Steve. For anyone looking to get their vehicle serviced by this shop, you will be better off doing it yourself, even if you have no clue how to do so. read more

Outstanding customer service and workmanship. I was extremely frustrated with a number of issues I was having with my car, and the lack of support / resolve I was getting from the dealership. I had a tow service issued through Verizon's Hum service, with the car broken down off the side of 494 near Saint Paul. I recently had the car checked out at the dealership and "no issues were specifically found" but for about $200 they had offered to do a more comprehensive diagnosis. The tow truck driver that showed up (at 2 or 3 am) was with this company. He asked what was going on with the car and where I wanted it towed. I told him that it would shut down on me after running for a couple seconds, etc. Requesting he tow it back to the dealership for further review. He took a quick look under the car after getting it secured to his rig, and pointed out that there was a sensor hanging (not connected), as well as some other visual inspection cues that could be causing the behavior. All things that were apparently overlooked by the dealership the day before. I asked him if he was a mechanic or if his shop would be able to take a look... Very glad I did. These guys got the problem figured out where others had failed, for a reasonable price and with great communication/support. I'll be back, and I highly recommend. read more

I brought a used car to them for a 2nd opinion before buying. They spent less than 20 minutes looking over it and told me everything was great other than the windshield wiper needed replacing. I told the owner and she said, "Well you're gonna need new shocks put in soon and the CD player is broken." But of course they didn't tell me anything about that. THEN I found out that very night, after purchasing, that there was a break light out. So I'm pretty sure they didn't really check anything at all. I am having the car looked at by a different professional and once I have that, I'll be demanding my money back. Larsen Motors will actually check everything for $10 less and in the same amount of time (they weren't open when I needed the car looked at,) and AAMCO will do a 1+ hour inspection for $10 more. So obviously I made the wrong choice. What a waste of my time and money. VERY upset. read more

I had my car for 9 years in great condition and I takes care of it myself knows if anything wrong with it aside those couple things service done, have it checked up at a honest shop 2 weeks ago that I know of someone works there "I do have the random check-up list what not if I need done..everything is clear according to it at other shop before I brought it in at Bobby&Steve's shop, unfortunately he's on vacation otherwise I would get it done other shop and but would be on a waiting list, but needed my own car for work asap. These guys were great! From the start, Nate tried to figure out the problem that multiple mechanics haven't yet figured out. He was clear, talked to me with respect and didn't condescend because I was a woman new to the area, and in general was very professional. They took me quickly and got an estimate quickly too. He quoted costs for more expensive things but said that they weren't necessary and then we settled on replacing the smallest thing first to see how it would do. It's the first time in a year and a half my car hasn't felt loose or like it would fall apart at the next pothole. All due to these bushings! What a huge difference and I'm grateful they were honest and decent and didn't try to push a 1400 set of shocks and struts that I just didn't need. Great service, I'll be back! read more

I got my vehicle's oil changed her a few months ago. I called ahead of time to schedule an appointment, but they said it wouldn't be a problem if I just walked in. I dropped my vehicle off the same day and it took much longer than they said it would to get my oil changed. I ran a few errands and came back and still sat for a half an hour waiting for my vehicle while no one let me know it was actually done and ready for me to go. Once I finally got my vehicle back I realized the service guys moved my seat and didn't bother to move it back. They completely read my speedometer wrong and printed the sticker saying there were 37K miles on the vehicle when really there was about 116K. In addition to these issues there was grease on the cloth near my door handle that they also didn't bother to clean up. I drove the vehicle away feeling bothered by the lack of quality service. Three weeks later my check oil light came on and I opened up my hood to see they never put the cover to where you pour the oil in back on. I drove my vehicle for 3 weeks with hot oil bubbling up all over the engine and everything else under the hood. My alternator and battery have recently quit working and when I brought it into a different trust worthy shop they had to spend a couple hours power washing and degreasing everything under the hood to get all the oil off of it. I do not recommend this Bobby & Steve's Auto World location nor will I ever return back to it. read more

I don't even know that this auto shop has 5 stars... I am an unsatisfied customer, but hesitate to complaint because I don't like to say bad things or complain. That's why I awaited almost a year to write a review about their service. I had Nissan Maxima which accelerate by itself. First they said, changing hose somewhere will fix it. I spent over 100 to have them fix it. However it was not fix... I had to go back their shop multiple times and their answer would be we are busy, please come tomorrow..After several visit, they asked me to leave my car and promised to fix by next day. They didn't call me next day. I had to call them, and answer was it can't be fixed, I need to take it to dealer. I went back to shop and drove car back home, found out that engine cover and some bolts were was missing..I had to go back to get them installed. All I had was hassles. so Big No to Steve and bobby.... Finally I had that fixed in Paul auto and tires, Inver grove in first visit. Then I sold my car. read more

Been having a hard time finding a local shop I feel that is trustworthy. These guys seemed decent enough. Had to get my car towed in because it wouldn't stay running. They were able to figure out the problem & replace the part. There were only a couple things I was not happy with, one of which was not in their control. The first was that I was told it would be done around lunch, but the part hadn't even gotten there yet so it took a few hours more. Again, not something they could really do much about. & after the part go there, they finished it up quickly. So I appreciated that. The second thing I was not too happy about was when I called to tell them my car was being towed in, they didn't ask for any of my information or anything. When I went to pay for the bill it was under "Tom Smith." Not even close. But aside from that, the work they did seems to be good thus far. & I'm extremely happy they were able to get me in as fast as they did & they were really nice. Oh! & they also gave me a free car wash receipt which was nice. read more

went in on 3/8 to have my windshield wipers checked as they were not working. did a diagnosis and found it was the switch. they had to order the part so I left without making and appointment. went back 3/11 at 7 am and had them order the part. said it a "one day out" part which means it will take an extra day to get the part. he expected to get the part on 3/12 or 3/13 and would call when it came in so I could come in and have the work done. well, here it is 10 pm on 3/15. never heard from them. no courtesy call to give me an update. I really did like this place but it seems the last couple of times I've been there, things have changed. went in for an oil change in 2017 and the told me I needed rear brakes so I got them done. went in for another oil change in 2018 and guess what? they told me I needed rear brakes. what? after 1 year? hmm. my confidence and trust level in this place has really gone down. read more
