this is one of our go to places. This experience didn't quite live up to the rest. We had a group of six and the service was extremely slow. We were also given the wrong order however, the waitress did make it right by taking it off, so I will definitely give her credit for that. The steak was very tough and not worth the price. The food is average, but sometimes they have good drink specials which is fun. The service is kind and helpful, but definitely incredibly show. I waited over 20 minutes just in between getting my drink and getting my order, and I was only a party of 2. It was another almost hour before actually getting my food. Very average place. read more

If I could give this place a 0/5 I would. Firstly I will say. The filet tips were cooked fine. Very bland and could have been seasoned better. They didn't give me my bread it was supposed to come with. That's not even what I'm upset about. They have an appetizer of shrimp that comes with 8 pieces and it was awful. Not to mention it is just shrimp that has been doused in preserved garlic... $16 for 8 shrimp that comes from a frozen bag of 50 that in total is probably worth about $11 total. What a rip off for $67 I could have gotten way better food. Also ordered a deep dish pizza they gave us a thin crust and that was awful as well. Very disappointed in dinner tonight. Placed an order online and it was not good at all. 1 - they forgot to cook and pack the kids meal with our order. 2 - when I called to tell about the missing items before I could finish my sentence the girl passed me to another girl without telling me, super rude. 3 - the sweet potato fries tasted microwaved and the burger was soggy and not cooked all the way since it's obviously a frozen patty with no seasoning. 3 - we got the sesame chicken rice bowl and they forgot to put the rice with the chicken. I'd been here once before and had a good experience so I decided to take a chance again. Came in waited 3-4 mins due to no one being at the matre d area. We were initially shown to a table but I requested a booth so we waited an additional 4-5 mins. Our waitress Abigail took our order, brought our drinks, silverware, plates, and pizza rack to the table. Right away I took my granddaughter to the restroom and returned within 3 mins to find a family of 4 sitting at our table. This was very disturbing. How did this happen. We then had to be seated at another area. I was very disappointed. As I looked around I could that there were fragments of food on tables and chairs and even we were initially set at the booth there was a crumbled napkin between the seat cushion and the backrest. The food was mediocre. The chicken tenders tasted as if the oil was ready to be exchanged and the thin pizza barely had any sauce applied to it. This was not the service that I previously recalled. I've been staying at my mom's in Canton for a few days as we deal with some family stuff and, too pooped to make any food, we decided to order delivery from Shakers. I hate to admit I didn't have high expectations, but it was actually pretty darn good! During times of stress I totally regress to basically only wanting to eat kid foods so I got the chicken tenders platter and it came with a generous two sides. I ordered the fries and what I THOUGHT was the baked potato soup but was actually a straight up baked potato (totally my bad but a blessing in disguise because that baked potato was stacked! It was huge and smothered with cheese and bacon. I saved it for lunch the next day and it reheated really well). The fries had a nice seasoning on them and the chicken fingers were very juicy, crispy on the outside, and were a HUGE portion to boot. My mom was in more of a salad mood and got the Michigan spring salad and she said it was excellent. The grilled chicken that came with it was packaged separately so it didn't make the salad soggy, which I thought was a smart move. It was also a generous portion of chicken which was nice to see. We both said we'd definitely order from them again. Next time I'll definitely try the soup! read more

The $2 domestic drafts are a great deal but the drinks took quite a while to come out. They also forgot my toddler's kids meal and my husband's side of fries, and both showed up when we were almost done eating. Forgetting food happens, but forgetting a child's entire meal is tough -- I can't sit and eat while my kid is hungry and waiting. We didn't have a manager check in, nothing was taken off the bill, and our server automatically added gratuity even though we were only a party of four. We might stop in again just for the $2 beers, but probably not for dinner. read more

Dined at Shakers Bar & Grill today, primarily because it's in very close proximity to an office I was visiting. After checking out the reviews and menu on Yelp, we decided to give it a try. I ordered a Peach Crown. There wasn't much whiskey in it, but I didn't take exception because the drink was inexpensive. It was tasty, however, didn't do much for me. The service was ok, nothing extraordinary to note. I ordered steak tips. They were cooked a little over, but weren't overcooked to the point where I couldn't eat them. I usually enjoy steak tips or bites because they are generally served in a zip sauce or something close to it. They're usually a great bar food item. These, however were in a gravy and served with mashed potatoes. Instead of a bar-food feel, I'd liken the dish to pot roast and potatoes. I wasn't in the mood for comfort food, so though tasty enough, I wasn't satisfied. My date ordered nachos with beef. The order didn't come with much in the way of toppings. Instead of queso, thick shredded cheese was melted over top the dish, which as it cooled, became difficult to eat. The ground beef was flavored with taco seasoning. Reminded me of the McCormick packaged seasoning. Honestly, we could've made better at home. My overall impression is that there are far too many items on the menu, therefore no item is specialized. It was after the lunch rush that I came. I sat at the bar which is huge and fully stocked. They have an extensive drink menu. I opted for the pineapple upside down martini which had whipped vodka and pineapple rum. I was really looking forward to it but sadly it wasn't that good. I was expecting a strong but sweet martini and while strong it did not have too much sweetness and definitely did not give pineapple upside down. It had a somewhat bitter undertone that just couldn't quite place. I also ordered the steak bites which come with zip sauce, mashed potatoes and bread wedges. I asked for my potatoes to be upgraded to loaded. My phone service was horrid in here. I did ask for the wifi password which I rarely need to do and the bartender told it to me twice but for whatever reason it was not working so I had to enjoy my meal and drink with a busted phone and my thoughts lol, probably for the best! My steak bites were ok, only after I received them did I realize he didn't ask how I wanted them cooked. They seemed to be well done which is not my preference and were barely seasoned. I'm a bread girl and the bread was amazing. The potatoes were very good, nice and loaded and seasoned very well. I asked for extra zip sauce for my steak bites because they were very dry but it did not help because the zip sauce was super thin, had no flavor or seasonings and wasn't the most appetizing in looks. Overall my meal and drink were probably a 2.5. But there are other drinks and food items on the menu that sounded promising so I will be back and give them another try read more

Shakers is a spacious restaurant with a large parking lot in front. The business is decorated with Michigan themed decor. There are tables and booths inside of the business. We were seated right away. Our server, Addison, came over right away and took our drink orders but didn't introduce herself at all during the visit. She later asked if we had any questions about the menu. I asked a question about an item on the menu and she didn't know the answer and didn't try to figure out the answer so I just chose to get something else. While at our table, Addison, didn't have a mask on and was extremely close to my face while talking to me during our interaction. It made me feel uncomfortable due to Covid concerns. I ordered the beef nachos. The nachos were prepared with four cheeses, tomatoes, and Shakers sauce drizzle. Salsa and sour cream were served on the side. I chose not to get the jalapeños and black olives that come on the nachos. Our food was brought out quickly. The nachos were ok. Nothing really spectacular. The meat was a little dry and I could have opted out of the sauce for this particular dish. The French fries were not served hot either. read more

My husband and I eat here once a week. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Krista, is an awesome manager! I have seen some excellent changes since Krista become manager. She has brought back some of the favorites from the old menu such as Lobster Ravioli and my favorite gluten free cauliflower crust pizza, and she has added a scrumptious, gluten-free chocolate cake to the menu. 5 stars all around!! New (I think??) Restaurant in canton before the madness of Ford Rd (when you're heading east). Welcomed at the hostess stand with a smile and excited to sit us. We were a group of 4 and needed a high chair. She said, "I have the perfect spot for you." She wasn't kidding. It was a great location. Anywho, it was a Thursday evening at 630. Maybe half the dining area was filled? Not too busy or a wait!....might be related to snow but I was excited. Happy hour was until 7 so $5 glasses of wine! Wahoo! This place feels formulaic. A huge menu, ambitious but just standard fare. Something to attract everyone. Goodish but nothing special or great. We were seated at a clearly dirty table. Plenty of others were available so very puzzling. Luckily our server Raveena was a doll and immediately cleaned it. She also was quick to get us some chicken nachos and diet pepsis. She was easily the best part of our experience here. The nachos were nice enough. Less chips would be better as all toppings are generous but only found on the top layer. Reducing the amount of chips would have made for a better ratio. We enjoyed it enough but took a ton home. For mains I went with a jalapeno popper burger, adding bacon while the hubs got a bbq bacon burger. Mine was way better. Hubs was annoyed by clearly preformed patties which he thought were likely frozen type. I still enjoyed all the toppings. I especially appreciated the fresh jalapeños and cream cheese. We both liked that our bacon was cooked perfectly. The buns are also very fresh and soft. The restaurant atmosphere is just off. Lots of employees but a nearby table was also seen wiping off their table as it was less that clean when they were seated. The temperature was chilly. I cannot imagine how the servers in tank tops and shorts weren't freezing. The music was 70s classic rock yet the crowd did not suit. I was rather put off. Sorry but no. I had a headache from bad 50 yr old music. Just not my kind of vibe, I cannot imagine whose it is. We got to go for the old folks. Ahi tuna bowl, steak tips and calamari. Their verdict? Just ok. My mom was disappointed with the ahi tuna bowl which was mostly spinach. My dad was happier with the steak tips but not overjoyed. I've been to the Shakers in Wixom and Canton several times over the years and neither have really wowed me. I guess I keep going because I keep hoping it's going to improve, but also because it's the only place in Wixom with a little nicer atmosphere. The food is ok at best. I can't say it's bad but I also can't say I've ever had a meal or appetizer that is thought was awesome. Usually when I go the place is almost empty too. Not sure if that is a common thing or not. I will say that the last time I went (Canton location), my server was awesome. He was attentive, friendly but not overbearing, knew the menu well and was able to make recommendations. Having been to their Wixom location and been pleased, we stopped here twice recently with friends from Canton. Gotta say, it's good here too! Whoever does the hiring is good. I repeat: Delicious. A blend of cheese baked on to creamy noodles, topped with bacon and chives...coupled with the Honey Heat Dry Rub Wings? Heavenly. We also tried the Shakers Shrimp on a bed of spinach, drizzled with Zip sauce. I could do or do without them. Not the greatest but good enough. For our mains, Honey had the bacon burger, with fries. I had the cod tacos (3) with brussel sprouts and loaded potato soup. The burger was flavorful. My cod tacos, crisp and loaded with slaw. Tip: I'd get the slaw on the side, especially if you're taking your uneaten portion. It will get soggy. The brussel sprouts w/ parmesan needed a little more balsamic vinaigrette but hey! Our food was really where we had the issue. Mom's fish n' chips - the fish was great according to her, but the baked potato and veggie side were a little undercooked. Mom offered me some of her veggies but I could see it sitting in a pool of oil, and declined. I got chicken nachos and...was really disappointed. They were doused in sauces - bbq and 'shakers' sauce. Too much sauce. Not enough legit toppings. The bbq sauce was over powering and I maybe ate 1/4th of my nachos. It got to the point it was cloyingly sweet bbq sauce. Plus paying a buck extra just for lettuce? Nah. Unfortunately, the first and likely the last time I'll ever be here. A nice space inside, and a lot of potential. But just wasn't delivered on. The Tennessee hot chicken was phenomenal and I wish there was a third on the plate. The Brussel sprouts were so crispy, a little too greasy but still I finished them all.
