The best burritos and tacos in Tehachapi really do come from a gas station!

All the servers are super friendly and helpful. The chips and salas is sooo good! I'll stop by just for that! My favorite dish is the chicken bandarillas. So tender and juicy! Don't forget to try their deep fried ice cream!

The Chile Verde has shrunk in both size flavor and increased in price. It is simply not the same it is too mild; if you want it more spicy they have an up charge, which is nuts. The tacos were extra greasy and the enchilada sauce was bland. Even the two salsas are literally like nearly tasteless. According to the waiter, the owners like it watered down because they think the community doesn't appreciate spicy foods. This is insane. Tonight, I thought things couldn't get worse, but of course I was wrong as another server, not the waiter brought the meals and literally knocked a full glass of water across the table, soaking me and my partner. Other than bring us extra napkins there was no other comps. The place seemed slower than normal for a Saturday night, so maybe the town is noticing the same thing we are. The bathrooms are disgusting. I hope they fix this stuff because it has really given us pause about even coming back.

Most of the restaurants I was interested in on YELP were closed on Sunday nights, so we took this reco from a local and ran with it. The restaurant is set back from the street in a little shopping area just off the main street from the first exit going East. It is worth a stop even if you are just driving through town. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. I had heard that the shrimp tacos were good, and I was hungry, so I ordered the dinner. My husband got the Carne Asada dinner. I got a very reasonably priced glass of Chardonnay, which I sipped as I studied the selection of tequilas lined up behind the bar. We were also brought chips and salsa right away. The chips are good, but more like packaged chips than fried chips. I sipped my wine, and enjoyed the ambience of this "local's" restaurant. It is the kind of place that your small office goes to for a celebration lunch, or for casual drinks after work. It has that casual vibe combined with affordable pricing that makes it popular. Our dinners came quickly and we enjoyed the hearty dishes. The food is kind of American-Mexican, as there was tartar sauce on my shrimp tacos. The shrimp were plump and there were plenty of them. My husbands Carne Asada was tender and there was a rolled up cheese enchilada with his meal that was just yummy!! It all tasted good and home-made, and we went away satisfied and refreshed, with lots of take-out leftover!

Never had that before ‍ and it wasn't good. Throw away the season salt! Red Robin and Lawry's themselves (Lawry's The Prime Rib) do not use season salt in everything! People who don't know how to cook only use Lawry's Seasoned Salt. lol It also felt like a loud cheap Casio because of the big group of people playing Bunco in the back. Loud dice rolling and cursing was not a good place for my kids.
