I haven't eaten at Domingo's since 2005. I won't go into details about why we stopped, because it could totally be new owners now. My friends told me I need to give it another chance. We decided to go today for their brunch. It was really good, I would definitely return. Items on buffet ( they serve you) Rice & Beans Cheese enchiladas Eggs & potatoes Chili relleno Chicken fajitas Chili verde Ribs Chicken & mushrooms Omelette bar Waffles & fruit Churros & Flan I don't think we will eat the rest of the day. We ate very well. **We received excellent customer service from Pedro 6/29/25

This place is typically a pretty good place to dine at; with good food and good service. The place is dingy and pretty run-down looking but usually we can look past that. However, what this review is about is their lackadaisical lazy treatment of customers and their false advertising. They claim to be open until 9:00 PM. I called ahead to be certain as I knew I would be getting there at 8:45. The person who answered said the won't take new people after 9:00 but if you get there in time they will serve you. They also said if they are busy they will even take people later. I had a 20 minute drive, from Bear Valley, but made it there by 8:50, with 10 minutes to spare. When we walked in the host said sorry we are closed. They got the rude manager out to tell us that he sent the cook home early and that they are closed. When I brought up the call and all their posted hours, he laughed and said too bad we are closed. I am posting this as a warning to those that are ever faced with having to be at this place past 8:30 PM.

Great local family Mexican restaurant. Great service and super friendly. We always visit when we're in town. Food is great - authentic! My go to is a chicken chimichanga. Spot on each time. Traditional making you feel right at home. Plenty of parking. See you again soon!

I absolutely love Domingo's. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Love the food, love all the guys and gals working the bar and love the Micheladas!! Pork Verde Burrito is amazing.

We had dinner here tonight right next to the haunted section. I ate a whole fish, it was delicious. I took a moment, to wonder where the fish's ghost is. It was delicious. The quesadilla reminds me of my dad. It was hot and fresh. 7/10

Domingo has consistently good food, drinks and service. Needs a bit of a face lift inside and out and there's and dirty mop water smell.

Ask the Community - Domingo's Bar & Grill

What are the beans cooked in? Are they cooked with Lard?

in the restaurant we do not use lard, we use soybean or vegetable oil

Is this the same Domingo that was in Boron and Lancaster? Is the one in Boron open again?

Yes it is the same one as in Boron. I don't know about Lancaster. We have several co-workers that go to the one in Boron.

Somehow, one of the very best is hiding right here in little old Tehachapi. The chicken tikka masala is so good I'd consider putting it in a thermos and taking it on my next flight. The biryani? Let's just say if loving it is wrong, I don't want to be naan-right. Everything we've tried has been packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and served with the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you're eating at a friend's house--if your friend happened to be an incredible chef. Prime Bar & Grill may have "bar" in the name, but don't let that fool you. This place is quietly serving Indian food that could go toe-to-toe with restaurants in much bigger cities and come home wearing the championship belt. If you're driving through Tehachapi and skip this place, that's a curry-ous decision. Five stars. I'd give it six if they'd let me lick the tikka masala bowl in public.

My wife and I wanted a lighter lunch so we split the butter chicken and the spinach naan. All was excellent. Service was friendly, the restaurant was very clean and I'm sure the fireplace would lend a quaint atmosphere in the winter. My wife mentioned that the women's room was nice, I would say the men's room could use some work.

Whether it's the rich, creamy curries, the incredible soups, perfectly balanced Pad Thai, or just about anything else on the menu, I've yet to have a meal that disappointed. Every dish tastes like someone actually cares about what's coming out of the kitchen--which, unfortunately, isn't something you can say about every restaurant these days. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, the ingredients are fresh, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. It's the kind of place where you tell yourself you'll try something new... and then end up ordering your favorite because it's just that good. Thai Hachapi is proof that you don't have to drive to Los Angeles to find outstanding Thai food. Sometimes the best meals are hiding in plain sight. If you're in Tehachapi and craving Thai, don't overthink it. Just go. Your taste buds will be doing the wai while you're still asking for a to-go box.

The restaurant was overwhelmed by a very large party and the service of other parties severely suffered. There was barely any checking in with other tables as the larger party was served by all the staff. I couldn't even get a refill on water the entire time of my very long stay due to patiently waiting for my order to come out. The Mongolian beef was underwhelming and I won't return to this place on my next visit to Tehachapi.

After doing a quick Yelp search i found Red House BBQ. From the being to end the whole experience was great, we were greeted promptly and sat down just as fast. We opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day with great weather. The patio and outside seating is huge, the inside is a bit smaller but still has plenty of seating and it's nice I love the decor. I went with the Tri Tip sandwich and added hot-links which was a great choice I also got a side of fries. The Tri Tip was well seasoned it had the crack peppercorn taste that I personally love. Served on a soft Brioche bun I believe. They give you 3 bbq sauces on the side to choose from Sweet and mild , mild and spicy all three were delicious. My wife and daughter went with the pulled pork sandwich which I tried an it was delicious, especially the little pieces of Bark. My wife had a side of Mac and cheese and my daughter a side salad. They said the Mac and cheese was delicious and so was the side salad it was fresh. They do have a small bar nothing big and offer beer, wine and some mixed drinks. Overall it was great experience and I say even better BBQ than most of the spots I've tried in Bakersfield. It's a shame it's about 45 mins away but I'll be definitely making the trip back soon to try something else on the menu.
