This is my favorite Mexican food spot. Been coming here for years. The seating is comfortable. Always smells amazing. The service is top notch. All the servers are super friendly and helpful. This place is really hit and miss. The service is great. The waiter is super friendly and professional. The food has seemed to really diminish over the past few years. The Chile Verde has shrunk in both size flavor and increased in price. It is simply not the same it is too mild; if you want it more spicy they have an up charge, which is nuts. The tacos were extra greasy and the enchilada sauce was bland. Even the two salsas are literally like nearly tasteless. According to the waiter, the owners like it watered down because they think the community doesn't appreciate spicy foods. This is insane. Tonight, I thought things couldn't get worse, but of course I was wrong as another server, not the waiter brought the meals and literally knocked a full glass of water across the table, soaking me and my partner. Other than bring us extra napkins there was no other comps. The place seemed slower than normal for a Saturday night, so maybe the town is noticing the same thing we are. I haven't eaten at Domingo's since 2005. I won't go into details about why we stopped, because it could totally be new owners now. My friends told me I need to give it another chance. We decided to go today for their brunch. It was really good, I would definitely return. The restaurant has a very open area for seating and dining. It's got a great bar area with friendly staff who are there to serve the guests with kindness and consistency. We had a wonderful time at Domingo's!! We were visiting some friends and decided to stop by for dinner on a Sunday evening. Our server was a gentleman and he was so kind to us, especially with our kids. The chips were warm and the salsa had the perfect level of spice. My husband ordered chile Colorado, the pork was so tender and the sauce was delicious. I ordered the steak fajitas, honestly the best I have had in a long time. I recommend ordering the pot beans, instead of refried. They are made fresh, with strips of bacon on them. The rice was tasty and fluffy. I also wanted to mention that we really enjoyed the Albondigas soup. The Albondigas were very tender and well seasoned. The ambiance was so relaxing and a very nice environment a enjoy a dinner with our kids. Our kids loved the quarter machines up front, gave them something to do while we waited for our food. We had been eating at Domingo's for three years, but that won't happen again. The service is so-so now that the best staff members have quit and gone elsewhere. The chile relleno is not made in house, it's frozen and tastes awful. The food was not what we ordered and upon mentioning both issues were totally blown off by server. The Sunday brunch isn't good anymore either. We were told they had been using water from the soda machine to made pancakes. When we have driven by recently - and we keep driving - we see very few cars in the parking lot. It's really a shame. read more

We were soooooo disappointed! We were passing through on 10-12-25 and always enjoyed Domingos in Boron so our group of four was excited to try this one. It was a Sunday and football was on. There was a large group but the waiter & wait staff did a great job. They were hustling! It was the food. Not the deliciousness that we'd hoped for. The chips were not even fried all the way. Half the chip was cooked, the other was chewy. My carnitas was not flavorful. My husband's first bite of his taco was a mouthful of fat (yuck!). The others with us also were not pleased. The girl at the front desk just didn't seem like she wanted to be there AT ALL. Not friendly or welcoming. But again, the waiter & wait staff were busting their butts to get food out as best they could. Kuddos to the waiter and wait staff! It's hard to imagine giving a bar & grill five stars, but I have to say: I was in town because a family member was in the hospital, and I needed a place with the right vibe to help me over my sad mood. Domingos was just the place. It has a great menu with lots of vegan/vegetarian options (you've got to try their veggie fajitas!) and a nice selection of draft beers. The food was pretty good, but the service absolutely fantastic. They refilled our chips and salsa as quickly as we ate it up, and they made sure our beers never ran dry. Unlimited free chips and salsa and bomb food. The waiter we usually get is SO nice and funny. Love coming here when we visit our family.

Domingo's is practically an institution in the Tehachapi area. This and the location in Boron have been around for so long. I was in Tehachapi recently and craving some chips and salsa. Coming to Domingo's was a no brainer. The prices here are still "affordable" when compared to similar restaurants and in the face of inflation. It was more of a bargain to get a combo than it was to go a la carte which is what my original plan was. I saw a combo that came with a taco, enchilada, rice and beans and a salad or soup. I went with a chicken taco and beef enchilada. Its summer time so I had the salad instead of soup. Everything I ate was pretty solid. Not the best I've had but it certainly hit the spot. I ate the taco and enchilada. Plus some of the rice and beans. I took the rest of those home for later. They were just as good the next day. There are two main areas that give me pause on this 4 star review and make it really more of a 3.5 star experience. While service was friendly enough, there were moments that I felt ignored. Specifically when I was waiting to order. Food came quickly after that. The other "issue" which is not really a big deal, the salsa was not hot enough. It was ok but lacking in spice and overall flavor. A salsa for the sensitive pallet. Having originally come in on a craving for chips and salsa, it was a of a let down. I have to agree with fellow yelpers on this place. I was getting takeout here when I was craving Mexican food due to the lack of options in the area. The first couple of times were okay nothing special compared to what I'm used to but okay and this last time was utterly unacceptable. I ordered the tremendous trio and was told when ordering, my usual order, that there would be a $3 up charge for the chile verse mini burrito which I've never been told or charged before. I understand prices going up etc but that changes the price of it to almost a full size burrito price but I digress. I ordered a cheese enchilada and tamale as the other two options. When I got my food the cheese in the enchilada wasn't even melted as you can see in pictures I've provided, the tamale tasted frozen and the mini burrito had almost no meat in it. I Love this place! They are an authentic, generous, OG Mexican restaurant with great, helpful and fast employees who remember what you like! Their salsa is so delicious, try their green salsa too, i Love it! The salsa always varies in its heat pain (hot/mild...) but its always good. They get 5 stars for today. Had the best Fajita meal. Everything tasted fresh and the flavor on the chicken and beef was delicious. Not spicy, not too salty, not over done, just right. I was super excited to try this buffet and to say we were all disappointed was an understatement. We called to ask what time the buffet was til, they said 2. We get there at 12:55 when the girl says I may not want to do the buffet because they stop bringing food out at 1:30. I probably should of taken the hint to not eat it. There wasn't much of anything. The food was beyond dry and bland, they messed up the waffle machine by not spraying it. The young guys serving the food were distracted and literally gave me one slice of bacon. Ask for extra and you get two more. The salad was brown .... The service was terrible! We had to order a beer three different times, one person in our group ordered from the menu and it looked and tasted just as terrible as the buffet. Also my favorite thing on their salads are the croutons, they seem to forget to put them on, now they tell me you have to request them. How the heck is the public supposed to known of this change unless they tell you when you place the order ( and they don't )So lastly I ask for fajitas for one and I was asked if I wanted chicken or beef and I said I wanted beef, chicken and shrimp. Well there was no shrimp , girl at counter stated " combo comes only with chicken and steak " , combo ? Excellent table service. The pricing I think was very reasonable too. The food quality I'm not sure of because I only ate there once so far, but definitely will go back. My food was decent, but not great. I had a chili reano rice and beans. The chili reano was a good size one but the flavor was just OK. The beans were very bland and looked watered down, as if the pot of beans were kept warm on the stove for a very very very long time and water was added because of them drying out. I used to live in Tehachapi and my Family and I used to go To Domingo's for Sunday Brunch and special Occasions and just to eat on fridays. I haven't been to this restaurant in years I decided to stop and eat there due freeway conditions from snow wind major traffic. I can say this place has really changed in quality the service was excellent as always but the quality of the food and menu have gone down Tremendously and it was cold in the restaurant they didn't have the heat on it was 34 degrees outside I guess it's a sign of the times that this small town treasure has gone down hill. If you are ever in the area you could go check this restaurant out but you may be disappointed so be prepared. read more

One of the worst meals I've had in a long time. The refried beans were a separated oily mess that slid off my husband's plate when brought to the table. The enchiladas were half cooked and the soup had an after taste like I've never experienced before. I was shocked to see it packed and wondered how many of the customers had eaten there before. Got a Togo order. They were very friendly. The food for the adults was fantastic! I asked for two burritos for kids, with just beans and cheese. I got two bean and cheese burritos covered in the red sauce. This caused a great meltdown. Not sure why it was covered in sauce. Needless to say due to that sauce they went uneaten. Ended up having to make the kids dinner after all. Pretty disappointed. read more

One of the two enchiladas was hotter so I ate half of one and left the other alone. The taste was blah.
