Placed mobile order & the ladies couldn't figure out their system. Got to window and they said they don't do mobile orders...they said they couldn't provide me a refund and my order would take about an hour to finish, I ordered 3 tacos, two value combos..quite ridiculous. Spoke to 2 different people & instead of offering me a solution they just said they best they can do is have me wait at curbside until my orders ready. Poor poor way of running a restaurant. Went through drive through thinking we could swing by and order a few tacos. First mistake. The drive through line only had 2 people ahead of us but we were waiting for 15 minutes. We ordered 5 tacos. The guy who took the order must not have listened at all even though we repeated the order. After waiting that long, we get to the window and he hands us a small bag with only 2 tacos. We told him we ordered 5 but he only charged for 3 and insisted that one of the packages had multiple tacos in it. We get home and sure enough, only TWO out of the 5 we ordered were there. The tacos weren't even the ones we ordered and after waiting that long, we didn't have the patience to fix it so we left with only half of an incorrect order. Lately I've been driving around and trying tacos at different places, trying to find the best in the area. Today I visited Tehachapi and decided to try one of those local tacos establishments while I was there. Sadly I stopped at Tacos El Superior.... I should have looked at the other ratings before trying as they gave a huge number of negative 1 star ratings for this place... Ordered Al Pastor, Carne Asada and Carnitas tacos, getting chips and salsa with additional red and green salsa as well. So tacos first...Not a single taco was good. Definitely Mexican seasoned, but every one of them was the absolutely most basic version of each flavor you could have. Minimal flavor and definitely not complete flavors at all! If those meats are what is served on every other food type, this place is a complete bust!!! Not one taco was worth what it costs. Even cheaper than other places I've been, but not good at all!!! Waste of money. Next, order of chips was literally JUST chips!! What Mexican restaurant EVER doesn't give you chips AND salsa?!?! Then on top of that...the oil used to cook them hasn't been changed in a while, every bite was just a nasty bitter attempt at a Mexican food favorite. Oh did I mention it was just chips?!?! Yeah.... Oh wait you say, did you get some salsa? Well of course, I paid extra for salsa, but another waste of money! Red and green salsas were both awful!!! 3 different people sampled this food and not a single person would EVER eat this food again! Red salsa tasted like bitter dry red chilies, no flavor, just hot and nasty! Green was acceptable, but didn't really elevate the flavor of the tacos at all. Both these salsas had the least amount of flavor I've maybe ever had at a taco place! Salsa is used to enhance the flavor of the food, but instead it WAY hindered the flavors presented. Sadly I'm surprised this place is still open!! I'm sorry but I, nor the others will be returning to this restaurant!!! I gave this place 2 stars specifically because the staff member I spoke with was absolutely astonishing! She was nice, greeted appropriately and helped to get everything I needed. We have had tacos from the food truck before and they were good. Unfortunately, this meal was a total waste of money. We encountered three employees and they were all very nice and that is why the 3 stars. We branched out today and ordered a couple different things. Bean and cheese burrito, if my 11 year old won't eat a bean and cheese burrito something is really wrong. Chicken quesadilla, the top looked okay but soon as you lift a piece you see the grease all over. So unappetizing, I don't eat this way anymore so it was just too much. It doesn't come with anything, sour cream or guacamole. It honestly was not edible. Threw in the trash right away. Now for the limp chips and cheese, they are exactly what you get at a game. Chips with the liquid cheese, the chips were limp and disgusting. Again, in the trash. My son is young and usually will eat anything, he wasn't having it. The tacos we got he liked, small street tacos. Good place to go if you just want tacos. The red hot sauce is good but they were out of containers. Service is always slow. Food has definitely gone down hill. And it's very expensive for what you get.

We stopped here on our way home from phoenix. My husband ordered the three taco plate and I got a burrito of carnitas. The service was quick and friendly and the food was really tasty. Definitely a long write line right now as it is a new location. I do think that the price of tacos is OK for one the mill street taco. But the burritos and fries are a little bit pricey. For 3 of us to eat and each order 1 item it was almost $30 So yeah you can say that the price is a bit high here overall quality and taste of food was very good. Their chips are fresh and crisp and they have a really yummy seasoning on them the salsa is hot and I really like it. I ordered the price would know me and it was delicious I love the avacado drizzle! I called the street tacos are really good! And the cornea saw the has great seasoning to it. Sometimes they forget your onions and cilantro but as long as you have it all it is on point! My daughter ordered the carnesale burrito and it is fair sized. It is also quite spicy! So if you do not like spice you better ask for it with no salsa. The line moved pretty quickly and the young lady that took our order was very friendly as was the young man that gave us our food. Drive thru staff are awesome Ashlyn sure is nice & service with a smile. I did come through few days ago and ordered two chicken tacos when I got home and opened up my tacos picked one up my hand was so greasy that I could not eat the other one!! Hate wasting my money and the person at the window was not very friendly made me feel like I did something wrong but all I did was place my order & I must have came at the wrong time perhaps she needed her lunch or 10 minute break to better her service!! Tonight my husband ordered a sope and rice/beans. It is always expected that tacos we superior takes forever, but after 30 mins of waiting for that small order to only be VERY disappointed is extremely irritating. We opened it when he got home and it was literally an old sope with just cold beans smeared on it, but none of the toppings. He drove back to have them fix it, and they refused a refund with a new sope. The fact that they did not want to make it right by refunding just sope and making me a new one is wildly unprofessional. They wasted our time and money! We will not be going back, sadly, cause I did enjoy their food, but poor service ruins their food. read more

I don't understand why all the negative reviews. We came on taco Tuesday at noon, we ordered 3 Al pastor, 1 carne and 1 chorizo taco.. The order was ready in less than 5 minutes. All the tacos were loaded with generous portions of meat and toppings, salsa bar had fresh limes and perfectly pickled onions and jalapeno. Red salsa was spicy! Green was perfect! I came to Tacos El Superiors for lunch as I was passing through Tehachapi on vacation. Street tacos were sounding good and this place was on my way to the freeway. It did not look especially crowded when I walked in. Two guys in front of me. A family sitting in the corner. A couple other people scattered about. BUT, they all seemed have ordered a lot of food because it took a long time to get my food. At least 20 minutes. I had ordered a combo #1- three tacos, fries and a drink. Of course I got my taco trifecta of carne asada, pollo, and al pastor. I tried a piece of meat from each to better taste the quality of the meat. Each was well seasoned and flavorful. The pollo could have used a squeeze of lime or a little salsa just to brighten it up. The carne asada was good as is though maybe a little salsa for the spice would have been nice. The al pastor was sweet and tender. The pineapple on top provided a great freshness. In terms of flavor, these were awesome tacos. I wish they had been warmer. After waiting 20+ minutes I'd hope they would be fresh and hot. Same with the fries which had potential but were just warm and yet over cooked at the same time. Service was friendly on this visit. And I had a reasonble meal. So, why the 3-star rating? The time it took to get my food, the temperature of the food, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The floor was so sticky. And some of the tables had not been wiped down. Were it not for those last couple of issues, I would be bumping this up to a 4-star rating. They did seem to be looking to hire new staff. Maybe they were understaffed when I was there. A few more people to prep, cook and clean would go a long way. read more

It's funny how many of my friends complain about the tiny tacos in the foil. They don't know what a street taco is I guess. But it was enough to make them not go back. Those of you complaining about prices.... That's what happens when gas prices go up! EVERYTHING cost more for the owner. I highly recommend Asada (steak) and Cabeza (cheeks). All of the food was delicious. Don't expect the food to be served on a silver platter. It's a drive thru and it will not be the best presentation. Don't let that take away from what matters...the taste. I'll be back again for sure! Also, go with the mild salsa. With a screaming kiddo in the back, we didn't prioritize checking the bag, our mistake, but they left out multiple items! Superior has great food and friendly service. Love the asada burrito i go at least once a week and have not had any complaints. Blanca and Reina are always friendly and quick. Even when they have a lot of business and are busy (and they get busy which is a good sign at any restaurant ) they tend to b fast and efficient. Cant go wrong with superior Superior tiene buena comida y buena clientela aun cuando están ocupados hacen el servicio rápido y sin falla.
