10/10 all around!…read more Customer service was a 10/10, food was a 10/10, honestly everything was a 10/10. For whatever reason, I've been craving fried shrimp tacos even though I had never actually tried them before When I crave something, I have to go get it, and these were EXACTLY what I was looking for. The shrimp was super crunchy, the tacos were really good, and the salsa was so good too. I also got a ceviche tostada and was going to take a picture of it for this review...but I'm not gonna lie, I finished it before I even got in the car I hadn't eaten all day, so there was no saving it for a picture. I poured the salsa all over it, squeezed some lemon on top, mixed everything together and ate it with the tostadas they gave me. SO GOOD. The shrimp tacos were $3 each and I ordered 15 It was about $45 before tax and around $49 after tax. Definitely worth it. Great food, great service, and I'll definitely be coming back when the next craving hits. 10/10! No, I did not eat all those 15 tacos it was for me and my family just to let you know lol

There's even hella avocado and it's not extra lol. Just a perfect combination of vibrant flavor, delicious sauciness, and springy shrimp.... mmmmmm. nothing beats this. On top of all that, I can't believe how cheap it is. I WILL be coming back over and over again Fish tostada: Maybe It's good and by itself this is probably really great but next to the shrimp tacos, it's hard to compete against. This location is just a food truck on the side of a busy road so parking can be a bit tricky but it wasn't so bad when I went. You'll be sitting on the sidewalk but they have a few tables and stools for ya. Food: 9/10 Value: 10/10

A big fan of island -Dominican food although it was overpriced compared to what you Can get it for on the east coast but what ever.. I went back to the counter to ask for hot sauce and the cashier told me it was a 1$ for hot sauce.. I said really? The owner, walked over very politely with a straight face and said we don't eat hot sauce on the island so it's going to cost 1$ What does one have anything to do with the other? I didn't understand her logic. I paused for a second and she said so would u like some hot sauce? It was some bottled generic hot sauce not even house made. I declined to order. The food was pre cooked , set in a steamer. Fast casual restaurant with a few tables Food was bland and subpar.

When I got on Yelp, I saw mixed reviews, especially comments about a woman being rude or having a bad attitude. Thankfully, we did not have that experience directly. I did briefly see her come out from the kitchen, we caught eyes, and she walked back inside. The ambiance was ok, good music , no customers at the time, but a few tables were dirty. The young man cleaned it right away . To be fair, I don't think the issue is primarily the young man taking the orders. He was kind, apologetic, and seemed to care, but the overall operation felt unorganized. Our order was incorrect three separate times. First, the drink order was wrong, but he fixed it and apologized. Second, we paid extra for mayo ketchup and garlic sauce in small 1 oz containers, but they were not placed on our tray, so we had to get up and ask for them. Again, he apologized. Then, when we received our tray, he let us know they had run out of lettuce and gave us potato beet salad instead, without offering us an option first. We ordered the goat stew plate and the grilled chicken plate, both served in to-go containers. For the plates, you get your protein, then a choice of green salad or potato beet salad, along with either white rice or moro rice, which is rice cooked with beans. We chose the moro rice. I've had Caribbean/Dominican food many times before, and it is usually packed with flavor, so I was honestly surprised that this was bland. This definitely feels like a coaching opportunity for the cook to taste the food throughout the cooking process, because a little seasoning and balance can make a huge difference. The grilled chicken portion was generous, and the plantains were delicious. The guanábana/soursop drink was also delicious, and the tamarindo had good flavor, though it had a lot of pulp/flesh in the cup. That said, the chicken and onion sauce were very bland and needed salt. For the prices being charged, the guest experience should feel more polished. Our total came out to $78 for two plates, two drinks, a small side of beans, and plantains. Pretty costly for what we received. Another thing that stood out was the napkins. When we asked for more, we were only given two additional napkins, which felt very stingy, especially when eating saucy dishes like goat stew. It just didn't feel like the best way to treat guests. As a chef and food safety professional, I also noticed behaviors that need coaching, including apron use when going into the restroom, lack of visible handwashing afterward, and bare-hand contact after scratching the head before touching food containers. These are important food safety habits that should be reinforced immediately. Overall, Karibbean Cuisine has good flavor potential and generous portions, but they need stronger operational structure, better order accuracy, improved guest communication, and tighter food safety practices. At this time, I personally would not come back, but I do wish them all the best in their business. I hope they take this feedback as constructive criticism and apply it in a way that helps the restaurant grow, improve the guest experience, and build long-term guests. If I see changes in the future, I would gladly give them another try. Until then, I truly wish them success.

Wife and I finally noticed this truck parked on Venice Blvd. and glad we did, too!…read moreFirst off, the people in the truck are super nice. Didn't feel rushed and the guy (sorry, forgot your name :-/ ) was happy to explain whatever we needed. We ordered an asada and a pollo torta, a couple birria (beef) quesatacos, and I also got a vampiro with the same birria. "Veggies" come down to just cilantro and onions, which they will happily add or remove as you like. My wife had been jonseying for a torta for a while and theirs delivered. The asada taco's steak was tender and not chewy, so she said it hit the spot for her. The pollo was equally tasty and there was a lot of meat in both! :-) The quesatacors are crunchy shelled and the birria was delicious with the cheese inside it, as well. The vampiro was basically a corn tostada with the meat on top (and veggies if you want them but, being allergic to onions, I didn't have any). But the meat, again, was super tender and really enjoyable. I regret not taking pictures when I could, but I'll be happy to add pics of the Birria ramen, burrito and a steak torta (our next order), when I can. ;-)

Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? As has been pointed out, the ladies who frequently work the Benten Bowl truck are wonderfully insightful, friendly, and fast when it comes to service. They're passionate about what they do and it shows. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? A standard bowl at Benten Bowl truck will run you $10.00, and while you'll get a decent amount of healthy food I wouldn't call it a large portion, and you still may well find you're hungry after a single serving. That's no too uncommon given food truck prices these days, but it's noteworthy. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? My Spicy Mayo Ponzu Chicken bowl was clearly assembled with precision, and I could tell immediately tell that the ingredients were fresh. The chicken was well trimmed, the peripherals fresh and flavorful, and the sauces a good compliment. Was it the best chicken bowl I've had? No, but it did hit the spot. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Again this is a good truck for a decent healthy food truck option, but my meal didn't blow me away. No Star Granted.

I usually visit the truck parked on the LaCienega near the Target store, and the parking lot is almost always packed. Despite the constant line of customers, the service is surprisingly fast. My favorite menu item is the Carne Asada Super Burrito with avocado, beans, crema, and cheese. I skip the rice and salsa, and it's still incredibly filling. The burrito is so hefty that I usually split it into two meals. The prices have definitely gone up over the years, but the quality, generous portions, and great flavor make it well worth it.

Nah, not any better. Parking wasn't easy, big lot, but hardly any open spaces. No prices on the menu. What the heck? Just go ahead and be surprised when you pay I guess. I ordered the California Burrito. $13.50. It had french fries in it. Nice try, but, NO! Allegedly there was avocado in it but I forgot my microscope to see if there might be a trace of it. Not at all worth the money. There were pictures of the canned and bottled drinks, but not of the other drinks so I just had to guess about what I wanted to drink. Why make it so difficult? I don't even feel like writing anymore about this place. If you're a fan of Leo's, more power to you. Continue to enjoy and support them. For me, one and done with this Leo's and any other.
