Thursday 9/4/25 afternoon on my 30 minute alto/uber meal break: I returned to SDO. I was thoroughly impressed with the quickly delivered veggie burrito from a pleasant server hostess. There is an art to a delicious burrito: the rice has to be savory and tender, the bean plump and tasty, the pico de gallo fresh and the guac fresh. All were achieved with a quiet mastery. Mole was super good and had a nice slight sweetness to it. The Sabores de Oaxaca was great. Nice to sample 3 different meats. Beans were delicious and rice was good. The side salad was surprisingly good as well for how simple it was. We had their horchata Oaxaca and that was super good as well. Refreshing and sweet. Most dishes are under $20 and portions are huge. I'm a big eater and I only finished half of my plate. Definitely recommend if you want authentic Oaxacan food. read more

Experience: Went during the week around 6pm. No issue with parking and only a few people in the restaurant. This was my first time trying Oaxacan food it was fantastic. Food: I ordered the more popular intro dishes to become familiar. Memelas, so good, a tamal de mole, amazing rich flavor!, and a loaded tlayuda, tasty and refreshing. I expected it to be heavy and dense, but it wasn't, which made it easy to eat. All the dishes tasted fresh and packed with intense flavors. It was different from other Mexican dishes I'm used to eating, but goes to show how diverse the country is. For dessert I ordered arroz con leche, which I grew up eating, thinking it would be different in flavor, but it wasn't. It was a bit bland and wasn't thick like a pudding. Everything else though, wonderful. Service: There was one lady helping us. She was very attentive. Parking: They have a very small lot and or side parking in the neighborhood street close by. The great thing about google maps is I can find places I walked by but forgot to write down the address. I'm in love with their mole sauces here especially the chicken in the dark mole - pollo mole negro. It doesn't look like much, at first, but the minute your fork goes from plate to mouth -- Nirvana! When you start with the best tasting black mole chicken, every other dish you try elsewhere pales by comparison. I'm not really familiar with the regional differences in Mexican cuisine, but I do know it is far wider than the Tex-Mex variety. I wanted to explore more widely the range of moles they made here but we moved from the nearby neighbourhood. So on a future trip, I have a "must eat here again" spot to stop in. read more
