Very cute plate, colorful and full of Oaxacan colors and decor. Food was decent but nothing to write home about, although the chapulin (grasshoppers) is probably the best I've had in a while if you're feeling adventurous. Service was pretty quick considering we came for lunch midday on a Sunday.

Great place! Stoped here for dinner and got the Burrito Mojado Mole with Al Pastor and Menudo. A tad noisy being next the Venice, but good food

Mole was super good and had a nice slight sweetness to it. The Sabores de Oaxaca was great. Nice to sample 3 different meats. Beans were delicious and rice was good. The side salad was surprisingly good as well for how simple it was. We had their horchata Oaxaca and that was super good as well. Refreshing and sweet. Most dishes are under $20 and portions are huge. I'm a big eater and I only finished half of my plate. Definitely recommend if you want authentic Oaxacan food.

Experience: Went during the week around 6pm. No issue with parking and only a few people in the restaurant. This was my first time trying Oaxacan food it was fantastic. Food: I ordered the more popular intro dishes to become familiar. Memelas, so good, a tamal de mole, amazing rich flavor!, and a loaded tlayuda, tasty and refreshing. I expected it to be heavy and dense, but it wasn't, which made it easy to eat. All the dishes tasted fresh and packed with intense flavors. It was different from other Mexican dishes I'm used to eating, but goes to show how diverse the country is. For dessert I ordered arroz con leche, which I grew up eating, thinking it would be different in flavor, but it wasn't. It was a bit bland and wasn't thick like a pudding. Everything else though, wonderful. Service: There was one lady helping us. She was very attentive. Parking: They have a very small lot and or side parking in the neighborhood street close by. Verdict: Despite the low ratings, not sure why they are so low, I wanted to try this out since it was so close to home. Wonderful place to sample regional Mexican food.

If you gave this place less than 5 stars, you might want to give it another chance! I found this hidden gem like this: "Make a u-turn, I just saw a completely empty patio!" Score! This place has it all. Social distancing? 5 stars. Price? Very affordable. Family owned business. Food, service, patio, check this place out. Breakfast, served till 11 am, choose from pancakes, french toast, with bacon, sausage or chorizo and eggs, all less than $10. Lunch or dinner, choose from ala cart items like tacos, enchiladas, tamales, about $3. each, or mole, soups, stews, or whole fried fish, $13. or less. The shrimp tostada, is substantial, with big slices of avocado, and ripe tomatoes. Handmade tortillas are available. The house salsa is muy caliente (very spicy) 5 stars. If you have a delicate constitution, the chicken tacos are for you. Grilled white meat chicken, mildly seasoned, and substantial. I bought a beautiful handmade embroidered blouse at the register $25. It would make a great gift. The food was very good, the service was excellent, but the highlight was truly the patio, during the pandemic, and all the safety precautions this charming restaurant has taken to keep customers safe. Hidden gem. If you had a bad experience in the past, your feedback might have inspired positive changes? If you're looking for an affordable, authentic, inexpensive place with a five star pandemic patio, check this place out.

Wow! an egg & sausage breakfast burrito needs to cook in this much oil? My bag is DRIPPING, literally, drops of oil onto the floor. & to think I almost put this in my purse! A carnitas burrito doesn't drip this much, geez!

Good for a group. Well priced. We came here after looking at some Culver City art galleries and it was a short walk away. I got the mixed seafood tostada and it was plentiful, pretty fresh and well flavored. Also ordered the yellow mole with chicken. Good quality chicken.

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Located between Koreatown and Pico-Union, this restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience from the moment you're seated. My wife and I both ordered the Mole Coloradito with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. For those feeling adventurous, give the Chapulines (grasshoppers) a try. They may sound intimidating, but they were surprisingly enjoyable and added to the authentic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and patient with those of us who are not fluent in Spanish. Their hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout our visit. Great food, authentic flavors, and wonderful service make Guelaguetza a restaurant we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

As soon as you walk up the stairwell you'll be transported into this super cute place with an outdoor-indoor feel, almost like an elegant treehouse. We were seated on the second level which provided a Birds Eye view of the restaurant. We ordered a few items to share: Cameron ceviche, flautas and for our sweet tooth, French toast paired with a mango sorbet surprise with a candle for our birthdays (tip: we drizzled the melted sorbet on our French toast and took small scoops with each bite - game changer!). Everything was so delicious! We also ordered mocktails, a miche-nada for him and a lemony drink for me. This experience wouldn't have been as great without the exceptional service we had. Our waters were always refilled without asking, our tables were cleaned with every dish, honestly top-notch service! My only real bummer was discovering they took the vegan ceviche off the menu--that was actually the whole reason I came back! I'm sure they have their reasons, but I was pretty disheartened to see it go. Overall, the menu doesn't have a ton of vegan items, but they do have some room for adjustments if you ask. Despite the menu change, the incredible atmosphere and unique menu still make it a must-try.

They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen.
