Mariscos Jalisco is my new seafood obsession. Food here taste fresh, light and is award winning too. Earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand, recognized by LA Times "101 Best Restaurants" critic Jonathan Gold and won the LA Time Gold Award. Yes, it's a casual food truck with pretty janky table and chair seating on the sidewalk (reflecting: I should just be thankful it's provided), but with that said, I'd still drive all the way here to eat here again. Everything taste amazing with reasonable prices (see my pic). My favorites is the fish tostada, mix tostada and the tacos (see my pics). Food gets messy, but sooo good (bring your own hand wipes for after -you'll thank me for this reminder). There are two other locations, besides this one. Seems to always be a line -but moves pretty quickly. Limited hours of operation, so give them a call or check their IG.

Went here since I was craving some mariscos. I tried the aguachile, shrimp ceviche, ceviche mixto and shrimp taco. My favorite was the shrimp ceviche. Food: 3/5 The shrimp ceviche is the only thing I really enjoyed. Everyone hyped the tacos but I didn't find them to be all that great. I also didn't really like the aguachile. It was very different than the traditional green aguachile with cucumber and onions that I was anticipating. This one was like raw shrimp in tapatio hot sauce. Service 5/5 They were very nice and I got my food quick! Ambiance 5/5 Everything was clean for a food truck and there were little tables and seats to enjoy the food.

The hype for this place is absolutely real! It's easy to see why they earned Bib Gourmand recognition, everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. I ordered the ceviche tostadas and the shrimp tacos, and surprisingly, the ceviche tostadas were my favorite. The tacos stayed crunchy even with the salsa on top, and every bite tasted super fresh. Next time I'll definitely follow the online recommendations and ask for the salsa on the side, but honestly, everything was delicious regardless!

I've heard so many good things about this spot and I was so excited to finally try it. My boyfriend and I ordered shrimp tacos, shrimp ceviche, aguachile, and ceviche mixta. The shrimp tacos were delicious with the salsa, avocado, and hot sauce. However, eaten by themselves, they lacked flavor and did not really taste like shrimp. The shrimp ceviche was the best item we ordered. The ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors were balanced. The aguachile had a good flavor but it wasn't the best aguachile we've had by far. Personally, I don't think it lived up to the hype. I wouldn't return as it is quite far from where I live, but I'd be happy to visit this spot occasionally if I lived very close to it. The woman taking orders at the window was very kind and service was fast. There is limited seating along the wall.

First time trying this kind of shrimp taco and it wont be the last! Amazing!!!!! So freshhhh sooooo sooo good!!! I already want to go back. Shrimp tacos 10/10 The poseidon tostada 9/10 Shrimp cocktail 8/10 All the food was soooo good! Service was quick. Limited seating because of how popular this truck is.

Have heard so many good things about this taco truck and finally today was the day we made our way here! They're very busy throughout the whole time we were there. It's Saturday lunch time so prolly indeed peak hour as well. Few seats by the curbside and almost always fully occupied with new coming guests replacing prior ones. Nothing fancy with the dining space, but that's how you know it's good when it successfully drew the crowd. Worry not, ordering process and waiting time were both relatively easy and quick. They had plenty of menu but they're very helpful in explaining. We got their Mixta Tostada, Shrimp Tacos, and Ceviche Tostada. For first timer I'd say try the mixta as it enabled you trying all their shrimp, octopus, and fish! Toppings were all abundantly served and so so tasty and fresh. You could certainly tell how great was the seafood quality! Their signature shrimp tacos were the crowd's favorite, which was more saucy with cooked stuffing.

Mariscos Jalisco what a delicious place! First visited their Boyle Heights years ago and that's when I first fell in love. The tacos de camarón/shrimp tacos are so good! And, what makes them even more delicious is the sauce they put on top of them. Squeeze a bit of lemon maybe some salsa and you are golden. Also had their campechana which is a cocktail with a mix of fish : octopus, fish, shrimp. 3 is plenty, 4 if you are totally hungry. The service at this location was fast when we visited on an early Sunday morning. It is a food truck so you eat standing, or on the few tables/chairs they have or you must order to go. Overall great friendly service and even better food!

Wow! I wanted shrimp tacos and tacos dorado while in Los Angeles on vacation. Do NOT miss this stop. While it's just a truck and you may have to eat in your car, the food is delicious and an amazing value.

Came to Mariscos Jalisco around 1pm on a Saturday during a weekend visit with friends in Culver. It's one of their go-to spots, and I can see why! The tacos de camaron are SO crispy and flavorful, just the right amount of spice. Friends said that they also package part separately for to-go orders to preserve crispness. There were 3-4 small tables and street parking when we arrived. The staff are fast, and you can tell it's beloved by locals. Wish we had a place like Mariscos Jalisco in my neighborhood!

This has been my go-to seafood taco truck because of how amazingly yummy their crispy shrimp tacos are! Chef's kiss! The flavor = perfection. Their specialty habanero sauce = firee! The portion = 5 stars! Why I gave it a 4 today... they changed the ingredients of the crispy shrimp tacos.. noooo! It tasted like seafood stuffing, as if they were skimping out on the original seafood ingredients and adding more filler ingredients. I'm not sure when they changed it up but I was pretty bummed about it. Not a huge fan with the flavor now but despite all that, don't let that deter you from trying this place! Give it a shot. You'll probably love it. Support your small businesses!

Mariscos Jalisco is a legendary spot, but the experience depends a lot on what you order. The wait at this location isn't too bad, though the wind can make eating outside a bit of a struggle with napkins and plates flying around. The shrimp ceviche is fresh, but the texture of uncooked shrimp isn't for everyone. On the other hand, the shrimp taco is the real star here. It's crispy, flavorful, and lives up to the reputation this place has built over the years. I definitely want to try the botana next time. It's a cooked shrimp ceviche plate and at 40 dollars, it's a bigger investment, but it's a signature dish that many people swear by.

One of LA's best taco trucks - Marisco's shrimp tacos are sooo delicious. It's a fried shrimp taco dressed in a spicy salsa and avocado ; the tostada shell is crispy and crunchy! Mixto is great for sharing - loaded with juicy octopus , ceviche and refreshing salsa. Enjoy it with the tostada shell!

Excellent as always. My undisputed favorite taco in Los Angeles. Get the tacos with a side of aguachile to dip or pour on top. This location is great because they take cards and parking is usually pretty easy.

Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? As has been pointed out, the ladies who frequently work the Benten Bowl truck are wonderfully insightful, friendly, and fast when it comes to service. They're passionate about what they do and it shows. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? A standard bowl at Benten Bowl truck will run you $10.00, and while you'll get a decent amount of healthy food I wouldn't call it a large portion, and you still may well find you're hungry after a single serving. That's no too uncommon given food truck prices these days, but it's noteworthy. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? My Spicy Mayo Ponzu Chicken bowl was clearly assembled with precision, and I could tell immediately tell that the ingredients were fresh. The chicken was well trimmed, the peripherals fresh and flavorful, and the sauces a good compliment. Was it the best chicken bowl I've had? No, but it did hit the spot. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Again this is a good truck for a decent healthy food truck option, but my meal didn't blow me away. No Star Granted.

The ambiance was…read morecertainly novel and interesting to experience, like a fantastical Santorini with Spy Kids elements. The food, on the other hand, was a letdown. I appreciated that the bar seats were cushioned, although they were still not particularly comfortable. There was an odd area of bar tables jutting out from the wall (is this a club masquerading as a restaurant? I guess they are open until 11 on the weekend...) that were meant to be a standing-only eating space. The only other option indoors was an area of coffee-table style seating. They obviously had no intention of making this a relaxing environment, as it looked like there were absolutely no comfortable seats to be found in the entire restaurant. I suppose that's fine if you just set your expectations appropriately ‍ The food was lacking, to say the least. We ordered the three tier seafood tower and the Uni and Crab rice for two of us to share. The waitress assured us this would be enough food for two, but I gotta say, for the exorbitant price, there was barely any food at all...and most of it was underwhelming. The oysters were fine with lemon but had a bland and one-dimensional mignonette sauce. The seafood tower had prawns with their shells fully on, which, while tasty, was annoying as hell and messy af to peel. The scallop had the most complex and complementary flavors out of the whole tower. It'd be nice if there were more than two scallops per tower. The uni with shiso piqued my interest but ultimately was disappointing to experience. The uni was wrapped in a whole shiso leaf, and as much as I love shiso, this was not a good way to experience it. There was too much shiso for the uni, and this was an inelegant means of transportation to my mouth. The texture of so much shiso leaf against uni was also highly unpleasant. ALSO, I just realized after perusing photos of the three-tier, we only had 2 uni+leaf pieces in our tower while other photos have 3. Some photos from recent months have 3 and some photos from many months ago have 2, so it doesn't seem like a systematic change. There is only 1 price listed for the three-tier, so now I just wonder if some people are discriminated against... I would have definitely brought this up had I noticed while I was there! As for the uni and crab rice, it tasted okay but wasn't anything to write home about. I think I expected more of a fried rice or warm dish and what we got was more like a tossed rice salad (?) that was half warm with the rice and half cold with the uni and crab and greens, leading to a lukewarm dish that wasn't particularly satisfying. The portion was also quite small and the presentation unremarkable. As for drinks, we ordered the piña colada (lemme tell you, this had a BOLD *canned*-pineapple flavor) and the melon spritz (fine, I guess). For $20, it would have been nice to have a piña colada with fresh pineapple juice (or at least not so obviously canned juice gd!). Maybe this restaurant was designed for one-time guests that would come for the insta-pics but would inevitably be so disappointed by the food as to never return again (?). If so, mission accomplished. In general, if you HAD to come here, I would recommend just getting drinks (I suppose that is the largest revenue source for any restaurant with a bar). And do not order the piña colada under any circumstances! Friendly service though!
