Nestled in Key West across the street from The Green Parrot and the courthouse is Bobby's Shop. This barber/beuaty shop is itty bitty, but gives great service. My stylist du jour, Liz, rocks and is incredibly fun. I saw her for some hair luv and she did a great job. As for services, don't be afraid to ask if something isn't on the menu. On our first visit to Key West we stayed at a great little Bed and Breakfast with not so great water pressure. So halfway through our stay I contacted the Bobbyshop for an impromptu wash and blowout. They were kind enough to squeeze me in that afternoon. Milan not only gave me a beautiful blowout (I wish I could take him home with me!), but he also had great recommendations for for dining and happy hours in the neighborhood. Bobby and Tallie came through for my daughter in a split second for her senior prom hair style. Earlier in the day she got her hair done somewhere else and the guy did a horrible job. I put a cry for help on Facebook that we were in desperate need of a hairdresser. Bobby immediately contacted me and hooked my daughter up with Tallie. Tallie did exactly what my daughter wanted and it mirrored the photo my daughter had of the hairstyle. Not only did she do an excellent job she got it done in just 20 minutes. Becky does my color and cuts and her skills are fantastic. She always brings her "A game" when it comes to trends, style, color, and new tools - like the Dyson pro dryer or new products like the temperature changing highlights. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The haircut I received is probably the WORST one I've ever got. I had pictures with me how I usually have it and told the barber to keep the length at the top and just clean up the sides. He cut it way too short and my bangs are terribly uneven. He was in such a hurry that he cut me in my neck and I had a small bleeding, which has never happened me before, ever. Never have I been this disappointed. Oh and it cost 25USD. I am hair handicapped - seriously - moved here from W Palm Beach in October, 2014 - finding a good shop and a great hairstylist was almost impossible in W Palm - so I never figured I'd find one in Key West - Tried almost all the top "5 star rated ones on trip advisor" - disappointing- then I was referred to Bobby's Shop and in particular Liz - All I can say is what a GREAT experience - the atmosphere of the shop is uplifting and Liz is amazing - I get the workis - color/cut/style - in W Palm I had three different beauticians - never found one that could do it all - Liz can - she does it all - my color hasn't looked this good in 14 years - style / cut is great - I can actually handle it between appointments myself - What ever it is you need whether you are visiting, live here or want to treat yourself to a great expererience - Bobby's Shop is it and Liz does it all - read more

First Thanks, Becky for squeezing in awalk in out of towners over the Memorial weekend! We happened upon the barbershop on our way to Fort Zachary. They were very nice and provided good service. They provide service for men and women from waxing to hair styling for events and weddings like at the nearby Hemingway house. My boyfriend needed some grooming clean up. I never write bad reviews, but if it saves someone from a terrible experience, then here goes... Liz worked me at the end of the day for color and highlights. I gave her the info for my hair color and it was nothing like what I had (she mentioned calling Bobby for advice - that should have been a hint to leave). The whole process was too rushed, and she didn't wash out the color before applying highlights. I ended up with black roots (versus medium brown) and almost bleached highlights. Didn't realize just how bad until my hair dried out later that night. I've never been more embarrassed to show my hair, and will have it re-colored when I get back home. $150 later, I feel taken advantage of. And yes, I even left 20% tip (call me stupid). Never again... read more

I got a hurried, sloppy haircut that my fiancee had to clean up with a razor in our hotel bathroom...the day before our wedding. In a new town it's usually a safe strategy to choose a barber shop close to the courthouse and lawyers' offices, but I guess this is a case of tourists being considered second-class citizens to be pillaged and sent on their way. Mind you, my haircut is about as simple as they come--a #1 buzz all around--so there's really no excuse for not getting it perfect even if you have minimal experience (or interest). read more

After reading the rave reviews that were given to Candon at Ocean Wellness Spa I called and tried to get an appointment with him. When I called Ocean they told me he no longer worked there and they suggested someone else to cut my hair. I decided not to go. I really wanted Candon to do it. I happened to run into him matter of factly and a bar/restaurant !! It was kismet !! The next day (which happened to be Candons day off) He phoned me at my hotel and we set up to meet at Bobby's. Well, I have had my hair done here in New York by some top salons and paid top dollar. I wouldn't call Candon a hairdresser but a hair artist. He can just look at you and know what to do. He cut my hair with a razor. No clippers or scissors. It falls into place with no dryer and I do not have to put product in it at all if I don't want to. For the price I paid I know I walked out of Bobby's Shop with a New York 300 dollar plus haircut. The place is so cute with all the old record albums on the wall. It's a clean, comfortable neighborhood place. I can see why Candon got the positive reviews. If your thinking about cutting your hair before you go to Key West I would wait and get it done by Candon. It's great coming home with a nice tan and a fabulous haircut. read more

Worst hair cut I've ever had. I asked for a little trim to clean up, and the barber decided to cut my hair how she wanted to. She cut off way more than I wanted and by the time I realized it it was too late. She then said it looks better like this. I think I know my hair and how I look better than some random person. I thought that it wasn't as bad as I really thought it was at the time and was planning on giving them a 2 or a 3, but after getting home and really seeing it, it truly is the worst hair cut I have ever had. I could have cut it better by myself looking in a mirror. If you want an overpriced bad hair cut, this is your place. read more
