I really like this kind of spot and there are a couple of other spots in the Atlanta and Metro Atlanta area that I go to, but generally this kind of food gets my attention. I'm a really big fan of Yakitori and Japanese grilling so all this is great to me. I think that I saw something online to where they were trying to be more authentic. You have special rooms where you can go ahead and sit on the floor while taking your shoes off so it gives it a more authentic Japanese feeling. I thought that was really cool. It's decorated to the tee with a lot of Japanese decor and it feels authentic so I really like that part. It's a lot of wood and a lot of specific Asian decorations that are stunning and beautiful. I got there and was able to sit immediately without a reservation. I ended up sitting at a table and not at one of the places that they had the special rooms. I think that you need a party to do that and that's totally fine so I know for next time. Overall the service was good. They did lack a little bit as far as bringing all the food to the table but I guess just because so much food was ordered I guess I understand that. They were still nice and very friendly and pleasant. Before I get to the food, let me say that they actually have a lot on the menu but I was looking for Yakitori. They have a special where you can get six different skewers and four vegetables and that's what I tried. I believe they said you have to get it all one way, so that's either with sea salt or teriyaki style. I get all mine teriyaki style. When I'm answering below on the specific skewers, just keep that in mind. Gyoza - the gyoza was really good. It wasn't the best but it was very savory and was filled pretty well. You know how you find some of them that feel like they don't actually fill the dumpling up? This was not one of those and I would get these again. The sauce that they gave to it definitely added to it. Shitaki mushrooms - the mushrooms were really good. They were tender and they came about maybe three on a skewer. The teriyaki style helped it along very much. I really enjoyed that. I would get a handful of these next time lol. Asparagus - Asparagus was okay. It wasn't firm nor was it tender. Because of the way asparagus is, it didn't really hold the teriyaki but you did get some flavor on there. It was okay. I probably would try something else next time. Yakitori - this was good. It was a little saltier than I was used to but at the same time it still had a very good flavor to it. My thing is if you get this wrong then I don't know if I trust anything else lol because this is one of the most basic ones you can do since it's only chicken on a skewer. Chicken thigh - the chicken thigh was good and it had a good flavor. It's similar to the yakitori above, a little salty but still had a nice flavor and a nice grilling to it. Bacon and enoki - I'm not gonna lie, I have no idea what this is that was wrapped in bacon lol. I just tried it just because but it was pretty good. The bacon was not as firm but at the same time the center of it was tender so you got to be able to chew the full flavor of it. Chicken and scallions - this one is my go-to, typically. I enjoy the chicken and onion combination and this one was really good. Overall this was a hit to me. Now out of the three places that I enjoyed, this may be the third one on the list but it does not mean that it's bad by any means and I will definitely go back again. read more

Food was fair to good. I had the Sashimi combo with rice and two sides. The menu says the sashimi is $25 but when you order it, you discover that all of it will be salmon unless you pay five dollars extra the picture on the menu shows a combination. The bowl of rice they bought me was room temperature. It was not hot at all. The picture of the sides available showed gyoza with six dumplings, but they came out with only two in a tiny bowl. My partner had the grilled salmon. She wasn't too impressed with it. Service was generally good. We witnessed two of the other waitresses and they seem to be a lot more well informed and personable than the one we had. As of this review time, they have no liquor license, so they will let you bring in a bottle. If you're choosing between this place and Nakata, which is not too far away, definitely go with Nakata although it's a bit more expensive it's a lot better They have a string of private rooms along the side where groups of about 8 to 10 people can gather. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. My friends and I came on a weekday, so we were lucky to grab one of the private rooms which is just gorgeous. As a note, you will need to take off your shoes to enter the room, so I recommend wearing socks unless you want to walk barefoot. They do have wooden sandals to wear, but if you don't like shared shoes, just want to give that warning now. The service was also great! They checked on us consistently and were very kind. The food itself was also good, but I felt like in terms of pricing, for a group of four, we just didn't really get enough food to make us full. We ended up going to a separate place to eat afterwards, and while the sushi is good, I have places I like more so I'm unsure if I would be back. read more

My friend and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. It was quite busy and despite having reservations, there was a short wait. The ambiance is traditional Japanese style, featuring a sushi bar in the back, booths in the main dining area, and private tatami rooms (low tables with floor seating) along the sides. They offer a wide variety of dishes, but I opted for one of the teishiku sets, a meal served on a tray that includes miso soup and two sides of your choice. I chose the assorted sashimi option. You can select either salmon or tuna, or pay an additional $5 for mixed cuts. For my two sides, I picked takowasabi (raw octopus marinated in wasabi) and edamame. While the sushi was not premium quality, it was still good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service by Evan was also a highlight of the evening. This place is really amped up on social media, and the ratings were high, but I was genuinely disappointed by the meal. To be frank, I did not order much (basically just appetizers) because I usually keep a menu and order more as I go, but I had a hard stop after getting the skewers to start off with. The ocean fire jalapeños were decent; you can't really go wrong with stuffed and fried jalapeños. But where it went wrong were the skewers! It looked barely grilled and lacked any sort of seasoning or flavor despite us choosing the teriyaki sauce on it. Whichever chicken option I decided for the skewers was tough. Everything else was mediocre at best. The atmosphere and decor were very nice, though. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the seating arrangement in the restaurant was really unique, and I really liked it. It looked just as aesthetic as it was on social media. The service was okay. Came here on a double date and was super excited to come stop by! It wasn't too busy when we ventured in and we were quick to be seated. The decor and ambiance was absolutely gorgeous and full of amazing colors. Seating was comfy and the private rooms were super nice! Our server Isa was super nice and quick to service us and check in on us! She made sure to serve us water and make sure that we got everything we needed while giving us plenty of time to order. I got a combo plate with shrimp tempura, white rice, miso soup, seaweed salad and gyoza. It was a great value for the price. We also got some tuna tartare appetizers along with some chefs appetizers. We got the teriyaki chicken set as they did not have beef. We also got the squid appetizer and the set of 6 skewers. You get a choice of 4 meats and 2 vegetables. The chicken teriyaki was okay, I thought was the sides were small. And the chicken teriyaki honestly didn't reflect the picture. It wasn't very glazed. The squid appetizer was small, for $8. It also tasted overfried and oily. It also wasn't very hot eventhough it's a fried dish. The skewers were okay, flavor was not quite there and were also small in my opinion. I did enjoy the picture book style menu but felt like the food did not reflect the pictures. Also none of the food was ho except the rice. I visited a couple of weeks ago and had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, but what really made it special was the tatami room. It truly felt like I was dining in Tokyo. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, and the overall experience is very unique compared to typical Japanese restaurants. It's a great place if you want something a little different and more traditional. Definitely worth trying if you appreciate good food and a cultural dining experience! My husband, son, and I came on a Monday evening. Our server, Tu, was friendly and efficient. They opened around December and are waiting on their alcohol license. It is located near the Toco Hill Kroger across from the UPS store. The decor is extremely soothing. They have private tatami rooms which can be reserved on their website. I like the affordable Teishiku menu which gives you an assortment of choices! I chose the teriyaki salmon which comes well done. My son ordered the teriyaki steak which he got medium rare. My husband got the sushi, where he picked the mango roll. The teishiku menu comes with two small sides-I liked the gyoza and seaweed salad. This is one of the best sushi restaurants in Atlanta. It has been open just for a few months. Although there is still working on getting the liquor license, you can bring your own.
