I've done omakase in a lot of places and I came in knowing what it can be. This didn't get there. The part that actually soured it: we were taking photos because we were thrilled to be there, doing exactly what the chefs were encouraging. A nearby guest seemed annoyed that we were enjoying ourselves, and instead of anything being said to her, a server came over and singled me out. I only got the small one, but the flavor was out of this world. The chicken was so unbelievably tender--like, the A5 wagyu of chicken. I can still taste it days later--it was that good. I can already see it becoming my go-to, though I might go bigger next time, depending on my appetite. C= (Fr*Q*q*c) Fr: 9 Q: 8 q: 10 c: 10 C(Yokohama)= 7200 Don't get me wrong - the competition is fierce for delicious sushi (Fudo, MF sushi, Nobu, all the Omakase scenarios popping up in town). What this means is the cost (c) is way too high, giving it a low 1-5 in the equation. Also, quantity (q) is low, about 4-6. So, the resulting coefficient is very low overall. From my understanding, the fish here only comes from Japan, so it's good stuff - and they really load up the rolls (a lot of the time), and they have this deal on weekend for special rolls (25% off I think). So you do get the quality, quantity, and decent price (about $12-15 per specialty roll). The regular rolls are good too, and loaded with fish. E.g. spicy salmon/tuna. So, if you're looking to go crazy on some good sushi without restraint and without breaking the bank completely, this is your spot. family owned I believe, very nice and efficient service. Just let the sushi chef know how many pieces, amount you would like to spend, and types of seafood you like and dislike. Just like a real omakase in Japan. 2 天ぷら Tempura - Any of their tempura items bring me back to some of my favorite spots in Japan. The batter is light, fluffy, and perfectly salted. 3 Desserts ! - Yes!!! This spot is famous for their handmade desserts, like their coffee jelly parfait as well as their rich matcha creme brulee.
