The service, food & interior were all great :) We tried several menu items & were happy with all of them. The fried calamari was delicious! Yummy gyoza, sushi roll, & great truffle fries which were crispy. The yellowtail carpaccios was yummy too but a bit on the thicker side (I prefer thin slices personally).

My friend and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. It was quite busy and despite having reservations, there was a short wait. The ambiance is traditional Japanese style, featuring a sushi bar in the back, booths in the main dining area, and private tatami rooms (low tables with floor seating) along the sides. They offer a wide variety of dishes, but I opted for one of the teishiku sets, a meal served on a tray that includes miso soup and two sides of your choice. I chose the assorted sashimi option. You can select either salmon or tuna, or pay an additional $5 for mixed cuts. For my two sides, I picked takowasabi (raw octopus marinated in wasabi) and edamame. While the sushi was not premium quality, it was still good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service by Evan was also a highlight of the evening. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and look forward to my next visit.

This place is really amped up on social media, and the ratings were high, but I was genuinely disappointed by the meal. To be frank, I did not order much (basically just appetizers) because I usually keep a menu and order more as I go, but I had a hard stop after getting the skewers to start off with. The ocean fire jalapeños were decent; you can't really go wrong with stuffed and fried jalapeños. But where it went wrong were the skewers! It looked barely grilled and lacked any sort of seasoning or flavor despite us choosing the teriyaki sauce on it. Whichever chicken option I decided for the skewers was tough. Everything else was mediocre at best. The atmosphere and decor were very nice, though. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the seating arrangement in the restaurant was really unique, and I really liked it. It looked just as aesthetic as it was on social media. The service was okay. Overall a very mediocre experience, and I wouldn't come here again, nor would I recommend it.

Nice authentic ambiance . They have Japanese style booths with wooden slippers provided , it looked cute. They said it was reserved for party of 5 or more only. The food was ok. Chicken karage : 1/10. It was cold and uncooked inside (center). Salmon teriyaki: 5/10. Decent. Nothing extraordinary. The skin had scales. Sushi rolls: 3/10. too big pieces. I like the more quantity part but please make them bite size . Sashimi: 5/10. Fresh but too thick. Grilled chicken satay: 5/10. Decent, flavorful. Service was really good.

We enjoyed our meal at Bobo Izakaya and were happy with how affordable prices were. I order a simple salmon roll which was delicious and the ginger dressing on the house salad was some of the best I've had. We ordered two skewers which were delicious, the sausage was particularly tasty. The bento box meal had a lot of food but the quality of the steak teriyaki was disappointing, the cut was pretty my bad and it was majority fat. Overall we'd go back and try something different

Came here on a double date and was super excited to come stop by! It wasn't too busy when we ventured in and we were quick to be seated. The decor and ambiance was absolutely gorgeous and full of amazing colors. Seating was comfy and the private rooms were super nice! Our server Isa was super nice and quick to service us and check in on us! She made sure to serve us water and make sure that we got everything we needed while giving us plenty of time to order. I got a combo plate with shrimp tempura, white rice, miso soup, seaweed salad and gyoza. It was a great value for the price. We also got some tuna tartare appetizers along with some chefs appetizers. Everything was really good and the service was really nice. We had a lot of fun and our server was so sweet! Definitely be back once they do a grand opening!

Came for dinner on a weekday and it was not too busy. The interior of this place was beautiful! They also have traditional rooms to dine in with a group. We got the teriyaki chicken set as they did not have beef. We also got the squid appetizer and the set of 6 skewers. You get a choice of 4 meats and 2 vegetables. The chicken teriyaki was okay, I thought was the sides were small. And the chicken teriyaki honestly didn't reflect the picture. It wasn't very glazed. The squid appetizer was small, for $8. It also tasted overfried and oily. It also wasn't very hot eventhough it's a fried dish. The skewers were okay, flavor was not quite there and were also small in my opinion. I did enjoy the picture book style menu but felt like the food did not reflect the pictures. Also none of the food was ho except the rice. Overall, a decent and nice ambiance but the food could've been better.

super cute vibes! value is decent - but the food itself could be be better. it seems like the items in the sampler were all just microwaved up & the skewers didn't taste japanese-like & lacked the grilling flavors that i would've expected. items that i would order again - salmon sushi & bacon/enoki mushroom skewers service was good - waiter was attentive

I visited a couple of weeks ago and had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, but what really made it special was the tatami room. It truly felt like I was dining in Tokyo. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, and the overall experience is very unique compared to typical Japanese restaurants. It's a great place if you want something a little different and more traditional. Definitely worth trying if you appreciate good food and a cultural dining experience! Been back many times, a nice spot for hanging out with great appetizers. The rolls (toco hill/bobo) were very filling/have a great combination of flavors. Will always be back!

My husband, son, and I came on a Monday evening. Our server, Tu, was friendly and efficient. They opened around December and are waiting on their alcohol license. It is located near the Toco Hill Kroger across from the UPS store. The decor is extremely soothing. They have private tatami rooms which can be reserved on their website. I like the affordable Teishiku menu which gives you an assortment of choices! I chose the teriyaki salmon which comes well done. My son ordered the teriyaki steak which he got medium rare. My husband got the sushi, where he picked the mango roll. The teishiku menu comes with two small sides-I liked the gyoza and seaweed salad. It also comes with miso soup and white rice (except for the sushi). I plan to come again and would definitely invite family and friends.

Food was good but what I got didn't reflect what was stated on the menu, and I originally went for sushi but it wasn't a lot of Sushi to pick from

Stopped by for a late dinner with a friend. The place has a cute, casual vibe with really nice décor and a great atmosphere overall. The food was great! We got a variety of things: sushi, hand rolls, skewers, and appetizers. We were surprised by how fresh the fish was, but my favorite thing had to be the scallop appetizer! Our server Evan was also fantastic -- friendly, quick, and really knowledgeable. Would definitely come back!

Sweet, charming space. Were seated in less than 10 minutes after being told 20-30 min wait (on busy Fri evening)-since only 2 of us, we sat at the bar. Very friendly and helpful server and sushi chef guided us through the interesting menu. The food was good (not the best sushi in Atlanta but we also enjoyed the grilled skewers and steamed dumplings). Since no liquor license yet, you can bring your own. Server happily supplies sake cups for us. Will definitely go back.

The short, thin hostess at the front repeatedly rolled her eyes behind our backs while seating us. I didn't notice it at the time, but our friend pointed it out towards the end of our meal, and it left a very negative impression. Our server was also inattentive. He checked on nearly every table around us multiple times but rarely came by ours. We ordered over $150 worth of food for just the two of us, yet received very little service. Despite that, we still left a 20% tip. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing as well. A lot of the food arrived cold. The quality and taste were nowhere near as good as what we remembered from previous visits. After giving this restaurant multiple chances, we can confidently say we will not be returning.

It was busier than usual--probably thanks to the holiday--but the atmosphere was still fantastic, as always. The service was impeccable--attentive, warm, and full of great suggestions. I ordered the chicken okonomiyaki, a miso soup, and, after my last time's mistake, just one negroni--because, wow, that drink hit like a Mike Tyson punch the first time. The miso soup was, as always, a comforting classic--those little tofu cubes floating in that warm broth are just perfect. But the star was the chicken okonomiyaki. I only got the small one, but the flavor was out of this world. The chicken was so unbelievably tender--like, the A5 wagyu of chicken. I can still taste it days later--it was that good. I can already see it becoming my go-to, though I might go bigger next time, depending on my appetite. One of my favorite things is that OK Yaki keeps the kitchen open super late--especially handy on a Saturday night. If you're reading this and you're on the fence--don't second-guess yourself. Get in there, soak in the vibe, and treat yourself to some of the best food around. I can't wait to go back!

Just to be clear this is not a spot you would go to watch a game or bring a large party so don't do that lol. The parking lot that they have is very small so keep that in mind. You can see signs that point to around the neighborhood, which is around the corner. It's in a strip mall so it shares a lot with a few other places. It's not surprising that the lot is going to be full of homeless people if you try to go. When you come in, you have to wait until you're seated and once you get greeted it's usually pretty cool. Everybody else is pretty friendly and they keep coming up to the table to make sure you're good. Well that was my first time experience at least. Handmade gyoza - the gyoza was really good and it had a very savory flavor and taste to it. It felt like they were very fresh and they filled them to the brim and you could taste it. I got the pork ones because I wasn't getting tofu lol and they were really really good and I would actually go back for those when I go back. Okonomiyaki - this one is a weird one so it's a pancake type of situation but it's more cabbage than pancake. I'm not sure how I feel about it but it wasn't terrible but it wasn't really good either. Now I will say that the fact that what sent this over was all the sauces that they put on it. I'm not sure what the brown sauce was but at the same time I know that the mayo was basically drenching it as well. You can get one topping on there and the selected topping was steak. The flavor of the sauces and the steak pretty much carried the pancake because it didn't have a lot on its own. I am glad I tried it but I probably would not rush back for this. Karaage - it's fried chicken. It's not like it's anything earth-changing or somebody's auntie or grandma making it but it was pretty decent fried chicken. It came with mayo that you can dip it in but it wasn't anything life changing to me. Japanese curry (steak) - the Japanese curry was good but it was just curry. It wasn't anything that I couldn't get anywhere else at another type of restaurant but it was good and it was savory and it gave me exactly what I needed. When I ordered curry it came with rice, which was also nice that you could use as part of the meal as well, but it was just pretty good curry. Just if you need options... It comes in vegetarian if you want to do that because they have a tofu version as well but I didn't get that at all LOL! Overall I would give this another go but it wasn't a complete five star thing for me. It wasn't bad but at the same time it wasn't life-changing. I'd have to try a couple more things just to make sure. It was worth my time and effort and it will be worth my time to give it another go when I go on that side of town.

What a great deal - my friends and I decided to check it out and we had a great dinner. Servers were attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the Samurai Roll, as well as the Chicken Karaage appetizer. The chicken was sooo good - perfectly, lightly fried with sauce to dip. Tender and flavorful! The Samurai Roll was substantial and I appreciate the generosity of the roll. It was topped with salmon, and usually when rolls are topped with fish, it's usually a pretty thin slice of fish, but these slices of salmon were quite thick in my opinion. The pieces of sushi themselves are also fairly thick - it was a big bite for me to eat each piece in one. I made a reservation in advance and the staff already had my table ready even though I was a little early. The table was already dressed with menus, chopsticks, and some small plates/sauce dishes. If you are close to Buford Hwy you should try this place. They have parking for a few cars right in front, a smallish restaurant inside with a full sushi bar. Their menu is pretty comprehensive and includes fried rice, noodles, sushi rolls, sashimi, soups etc. As we were a large group we ordered a bunch of things. Most of the entrees are served with a salad and soup making it quite the meal. We ordered the sashimi appetizer, the pork gyoza, shrimp shumai, omelette, combination fried rice, B-52 roll, sunrise roll, crunchy roll I think. Sashimi was fresh - yellowtail, tuna, salmon. The gyoza was delicious and table favorite Honestly, I even enjoyed the pork belly omelette. So flavorful... The fried rice was cooked well but was missing some seasoning/salt. Otherwise good. The rolls were great and we selected ones that had some spice. My favorite was the sunrise roll - a little crunchy inside yet with a slight kick. The staff felt a little overwhelmed with our group but they were polite and helpful. Food was prices reasonably and worth it (for the portion sizes).
