When I come to Atlanta -- this is my first stop. Service is great. Atmosphere is so nice. And the food is immaculate. The pork belly wraps, literally order 2. Fish is the best in the city. Seriously. Come before this place blows up on Tik Tok

Love this place!! The waitstaff, especially Angela, make this experience phenomenal. The food is of the highest quality you can get. They know how to prepare it to enhance all the flavors as well. Ambiance is nice and serene. Highly recommend if this is on your go to list!!

The food was so good! Ambiance was pretty nice, fast service as well I believe they have rebranded since but still worth the trip

When I went in mid-2024 the tasting menu consisted of: San kuchi zensai (3 bite appetizer), A5 Ribeye Cap, Sashimi Moriawase, A5 NY Striploin, Crab rice, and sorbet. (I also ordered the truffle wagyu slider, I mean come on I had to try them) The omakase menu started off great with the small bites to start the appetite going, then hit hard with the A5 Ribeye Cap (literally just melts in the mouth), gives you a little breather with the sashimi... and then hits hard again with the A5 NY Striploin (my favorite). Finally the meal ended with a nice crab rice (great texture, sweet, love carbs), and a nice sorbet to cleanse the pallet. The food was perfect for someone that wants to try an omakase menu that highlights Japanese steak. The ambiance was dark and moody, perfect for a nice date night.

One of the owners for the Okiboro and Nori Fish has opened this new spot that specializes in Wagyu. It's something that I thought ATL was missing although I wanted it to be little less formal or set menu. Prefecture is located across from Buckhead Okiboro that used to be H&F spot. At the time of our visit, they didn't start valet but was told that it would start the week after for parking. Drink wise, the blue bird drink is very tempting for pics but taste wise, not so great. My husband and I both did the omakase and couple off menu items but it ended up being duplicated. Omakase wise, the meat and presentation gets better and better as the course progresses! To my surprise I actually really liked the wagyu slider as that was my least favorite item at Nori Fish and was not looking forward to it. I would definitely just come back just to have couple of the sliders! Great wagyu spot but wish we can just come back to pick and choose and cook in front of us.

Really wanted to try the omoakase experience, but because I don't eat beef it didn't make sense. However the tapas were such a delight, I would still recommend this place highly. The ambiance and service matched the five star cuisine I experienced. Loved the lobster rice and kani avocado maki roll. The hamachi was so fresh and melted in your mouth. I can't wait to try the sister property, Nori Sushi, and will definitely return here.

ultimate dining experience with an unique and delicious dining experience. we ordered the six course chefs choice with the saki accompaniment. we also enjoyed the tempura shrimp and raw oysters. the service was first class with descriptions of each dish along with the saki pairing. the restaurant itself is beautifully lit and the table setting is stunning.

Now called Norifish-- we went last night and it was amazing! All the food was so good we were really impressed. Not cheap but it's good quality. We did the standard Omakase and added on oysters and Wagyu sliders. Both sooo good. They paced the meal well. Will definitely go back.

WOW WOW WOW! I did the Omakase and from the beginning to the end it was exceptional. The staff were warm and welcoming and the vibes were giving luxurious. I will definitely go back next time I'm in the city.

Ok so the sushi here is AMAZING but the drinks are what makes you come back. If you're a little overwhelmed by the menu like I was, just ask the server for recommendations and you'll be glad you did! But honestly, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The ambiance is low key and very dim so it made me feel fancy schmancy Overall, great place for an intimate setting or a posh get together!

Had the pleasure of going to the soft opening for Okiboru's sister restaurant, Prefecture Japanese Steakhouse. They are promoting their omakase, but the steak version. FOOD: The omakase tasting menu offers an 8 course experience for $175. Miso Pork Belly/Braised Short Ribs - They accommodated the pork belly with the braised short ribs if you are unable to eat pork. I loved how soft it was and that it had a kick from the gochujang (red pepper paste) marinade. My bf said he liked the pork belly better though so both seem to be solid choices. Zabuton Chuck Center - The portion size is very generous. Wasn't the most soft, but really enjoyed the flavors. A5 Ribeye - I absolutely love ribeye so was looking forward to this one. It was a little heavy for me after already having a fatty, buttery wagyu and then getting a cut that was even more fatty. I enjoyed the roasted garlic pairing and love the uniqueness of their wasabi relish. Sashimi Moriawase - The sashimi was all incredibly fresh and presented beautifully! It comes with a ponzu trio that includes yuzu ponzu, ponzu with garlic oil, and a last one I unfortunately do not remember. My favorite was the Hokkaido scallops! Absolutely amazing! A5 NY Strip Aburi - I loved the presentation of this dish and the taste was even better. Aburi means to flame-sear, which I believe means they torched the meat to sear it. It added a nice crust and rendered the fat well to keep the meat juicy. Lobster rice - Lobster + rice, what's not to love about these together? They season the lobster and place it on top of sushi rice. Love the rice pearls as they add a nice crunch. Truffle Wagyu Slider - I was super stuffed at this point, but still really enjoyed the slider. I only wished that it had some kind of spice to it, such as jalapeño or gochujang sauce, since everything was very fatty and oily. Raspberry sorbet - I appreciate the fact that they make the sorbet in house. It was a nice refreshing finish to the meal. SERVICE: Andrew was amazing! Super attentive, fun, and not too overbearing but always making sure we had water, had enough salad, etc. VIBE: The inside is pretty dark and intimate, so seems like it would be really nice for a date night dinner or girls night out! OVERALL: It was a 5-star experience, but I docked a star because I enjoyed the seafood entrees a lot more unfortunately. The meat quality and taste are all good and these plates are crafted like art, but it was all too fatty for me. I think there needs to be a side of spicy ramen or some kind of spice/citrus taste in the middle to break up the fattiness. Definitely a personal preference though. I would highly recommend the omakase for a special occasion, but they also have the omakase a la carte which is a great option if you don't want to break the bank.

$50: 3 bites of beef, bland sauce, garlic slice, tweezer-herbs and 1/8 teaspoon of caviar that couldn't be tasted. Dull.

Went to Prefecture for an anniversary dinner. $185 later, the two of us had each had roughly ten small bites of food (no drinks, no dessert). So this is not a place to come for a meal... it's a place for people who have never been to Japan to feel like they've had an "authentic" Japanese meal (with none of the experience that goes along with it). They'd be wrong. First things first: the food is fine, and prepared well enough, though one piece of A5 wagyu had a tough and fatty edge that was quite unpleasant to chew and swallow. At these prices, one has a right to expect better than that. Second, my issue isn't the cost per se -- I have had many far more expensive meals, and some very high-end tasting menu experiences. I'm happy to pay for the extraordinary. But Prefecture is not that. In fact, there's an equally pricey sushi lounge elsewhere in Atlanta that I would gladly give five stars to, because their flavors, inventiveness and preparation are superb. Prefecture is just teensy-tiny pieces of expensive beef and fish prepared in fairly ordinary ways. Service was... equally ordinary. A slightly nervous waiter who appeared to have minimal training other than having memorized some extremely basic facts about each dish, and who seemed ill-suited to what's supposed to be a high-end restaurant. There are numerous steakhouses in town with equally good beef where a meal of the same price will actually be a steak, not a cruel joke on the gullible.

    Liz A.

How does Prefecture not have a Michelin star or a recommendation? It was my favorite sushi and omakase experience of the year! It is perfection! I headed to south Buckhead to see if Prefecture was as good as I've heard. It's better. They are known for their Japanese omakase that heavily features A5 wagyu steak, and they've added a small plate and tapas menu that is just as amazing with everything from sushi rolls to ceviche to chicken wings! Plus, their Japanese inspired cocktail menu really shines when paired with their food. Here's the standouts of my dinner for Tapas and Small plates. The Sake Avocado Maki is "oh my word!!" So soft and melt in your mouth fish, creamy avocado, earthy umami aioli, a crispy garlic on top, surrounded by a spicy chili ponzu. One of the best rolls ever! Plus, the King salmon ceviche is super fresh salmon, a fantastic citrusy sauce with a hint of heat from the jalapeño and a hit of sweet orange and a good crunch on the top. Washed this down with a delicious Shogun cocktail. It is Bright champagne, sweet vermouth, floral gin, and a mint cordial My standouts from the 7-course Omakase. Of the Zensai apps the croquette was my favorite with wagyu beef, Japanese black futsu pumpkin, creamy, sweet, in a super crunchy croquette. Plus, of the wagyu/steak offerings my fave was the Zabuton. It's a delicate wagyu steak cut from the chuck center is so super tender and melts in your mouth. Delicate yet bold meat, buttery flavor, sweet and tangy apple ponzu and fried shallots for a little bit of crunch! The assorted sashimi was also a stunner. Hamachi, Amber Jack, and then red snapper. This beautiful dish is so fresh and served with a variety of ponzus. Favorite is the smokier and heartier red snapper! AND save room for the last meat course, the Wagyu slider! Delectable! It is perfectly cooked Wagyu beef topped with gruyere cheese, rich quail egg, toasted bun and a truffle aioli! Served with "chips and dip," crunchy chips and more truffle aioli! And the service is just top notch, white glove and you feel like a queen or king.

The kicker- my brother in law ended up paying the whole tab at the end anyways! so all of that initial laziness & nastiness for NOTHING! Throughout the night, the service felt incredibly rushed and stressed. While we were still eating our appetizers, the busser was aggressively trying to clear our plates because the mains were coming. Overall experienc: it was really good customer service throughout the restaurant. I do recommend giving this restaurant a try. I'll return to try other items on the menu.
