PERFECT nail salon for ARTSY, ALTERNATIVE, RETRO girlies! I LOVE the vibe of this place! All other nail salons in the area are bordering on clinical with how white and bland their interior is. THEY HAVE COUCHES FOR THE PEDICURES! Incredible. The entire place is SO comfy and they have lovely paintings. Got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Both were done in less than an hour, didn't drag out but didn't rush. Everyone was SO nice, Danny who gave me a massage was FANTASTIC! I would definitely recommend especially if you would like some DIMMED lights (I hate the bright lights in most places) and a nice vibe with lovely people. I went in for a pedicure today and my 13 year old daughter for a manicure. I had made an appointment for both of us, while they took my daughter on time they were not ready for me. My pedicure took all of 15 minutes and it looks like they put one coat on without a top coat. My daughter picked out the long lasting polish and after 4 hours 5 nails were chipped. This is my happy place. I don't even really want to tell people about it and keep it to myself but the Bobo staff deserve recognition. All experiences have been positive for the past 5 years (I am a regular) and they are efficient while still providing a positive, pleasant experience. Bobo Nail Spa has the potential to be a very good salon, but the management needs to change a few things. POSITIVES: 1) the environment is very pretty, open and airy. 2) Bobos has its own parking lot, which always has space, and that's rare in Rye. It's also great when you are walking back to your car with wet nails. NEGATIVES: Now, here is the annoying part, and I found it to be very inappropriate. I went in for a standard pedicure ($25) and the manicurist spent the ENTIRE TIME trying to sell me more services (the special pedicure), and without telling me it was well over half the price ($55+)!! That is just a bad business practice. And honestly, this is Rye. Excellent customer service is expected, as is excellent quality. The lady constantly trying to push more services on me and trick me into paying more money is inappropriate, and frankly, extremely annoying. Bobo, try to keep it classy next time. Overall, I got a nice pedicure, and I may return (though it's definitely wearing off A LOT fast than other pedicures and my own self-done pedicures. This salon has so much potential, but needs a few upgrades to compare to other nail salons in the area. The decor is nice and the salon seems clean. The pedicure area looked very enticing having a sofa for every 2 pedi stations instead of your standard pedi chairs. I went in for a gel mani last week (my usual) and was extremely rushed! At least 3 different nail techs worked on my mani, if not more. This was very bizarre to me. After my mani was finished, i noticed that they didn't even cover the entire nail - there are strips missing polish along the sides of almost all of them! The worst part is, since the mani was so rushed, I didn't even feel comfortable enough to ask them to fix it. Now, less than 4 days later, the gel mani is lifting around all edges. This is very disappointing after spending $40; which is more than other salons in the area. One major upside is the parking lot - that is a rare find in the area. read more

I went to the salon with my sister and friend and we had to wait around 15 minutes. I had a man and my sister had a woman. They rushed and did not do the full and typical routine. My friend had to wait another 10 minutes. For the manicure the station was dirty and the man had to clean up the pedicure stations. My sister was very unpleased and the woman messed up her pedicure and fixed it later(she made it worse). My friend had a man as well and he rushed and did not do a good job. I've been to the salon twice before and overall I was very unsatisfied and will not be going back any time soon. It was not clean or professional. read more

Honestly, the only reason I am even giving 2 stars is because the pedicure my friend and I received was decent. The facility is nice and parking is wonderful. I personally think that, though the love seats were cozy, massaging chairs found in typical salons are better. Also, I was wondering if they really cleaned the foot baths well because they seemed a bit grimy, which always makes me nervous. I went in with two coupons for a manicure & pedicure that I had purchased at a school silent auction. Neither my friend nor I wanted the manicure part of the coupon, so we asked if they could upgrade the pedicure for the same price. They said yes and gave us some options. My friend and I agreed. As I was getting my pedicure and realized how long it was taking (there was a very long leg massage), I started to think that we were going to be charged a little bit in addition, but I was okay with it since it was relaxing and my friend and I were enjoying our bonding time. What I didn't expect was to be charged $49/pedicure in addition to the coupons that we had already given them. I reminded the person at the counter (I believe she was owner or manager, and she was present when I asked about upgrading our pedicure in lieu of the manicures) about the coupons and then she proceeded to condescendingly do the "math" for me. She explained that our pedicures were $85, less the value of the coupon (she said that was $36, even though the value was never written on the coupon), so the difference (she pointed out while pointing to the "minus" sign in her math equation, was obviously $49. I did not see the price of this (or any of their services) posted anywhere in the salon. I was so horrified, that I just paid it. I will never, ever return. I will also never, ever recommend this place to anybody. I felt robbed... and to make matters worse, the pedicure didn't even last as long as most do. I still can't get over it... an $85 pedicure? And it didn't even include a neck massage, much less a massaging chair. Never again! read more

Super bad service, the person who did my nails apparently he is just learning because he did a terrible job and I tried to complain about it but they got all super aggressive so I just left the place. I would not recommend this place AT ALL, and I don't usually write bad reviews about products/places but this I just had to. Bobo has parking. This is the only reason to go there. The salon tries to look retro, but only looks tacky: uncomfortable seating, second-hand furniture, poor lighting and second-rate staff and management. The man gave me an indifferent pedicure, without paying any attention to my requests. (? language barrier) He may have been ill: he kept wiping his nose on his sleeve, and did not wear a mask. Because of the lighting, every time he bent his head, it cast a shadow on my toes. (Not his fault) I felt torn discussing my concerns with the manager who was not the least bit interested in my comments. In brief: the salon is poorly managed, the staff poorly trained, the atmosphere cold and unfriendly, and the hygiene abysmal. Rye and environs have many better choices for the same prices as Bobo; some even have parking! read more

Nice place, nice atmosphere, great massages by the guys (especially), but they always drive me crazy by tricking you into something you didn't ask for. Like you order a facial for $90, they'll give you a facial and then the lady says - Oh, I gave you a different facial by accident, it's actually $120! Or my husband gets a $90 massage, and when we pay it's - Oh, it's $100, because a guy's body is different and you have to pay more! It's so freaking annoying - and I don't care as much about the extra money as I am upset about their dishonesty. Please. And it happens EVERY time. The place even changed managers and a bunch of staff but the bullsh*t continues... Their credit card machine doesn't work, because they don't like to take credit... I have other examples, but maybe this is enough for now. Not going back. If you go, PLEASE, don't pay more than you agreed. Seriously, if they make a mistake and give you a 'better and more expensive' facial or massage, it's their problem, and you shouldn't be liable for that. read more

Ripped off. Asked to have my eyebrows waxed and only got the bottom and part of the middle done. They did not complete it. I needed to tweeze the top and middle myself to complete it. Very disappointed terrible service. Would not recommend at all. read more

I am so disappointed. I went in for a mani/pedi. I received a gift cert for a manicure and thought it would be good to get a medi also. When I was there the guy asked what kind of service would I like. So I did one of the special services asking if it was alot. I was told that it was only $15.00 more for feet and $10.00 for hands. ok great so i went for it. When I went to pay, you can imagine my surprise when i find out that that the pedi was $80 and Mani $50. What ticks me off the most is the color i choose is not the one they put on. They convinced me to change it to another color. The whole time i was there a pushing lady kept asking me about getting a facial. Saying that I could use one. I was starting to look older then I was. So I asked well how old do you think i am. She said late 20's early 30's I really should do something to prevent the wrinkles. I smiled and said thank you but I'm going to turn 40 this summer. So I guess I'm doing good and no thank you. Eyebrows are $30. This place is a ripe off. They did take great care to make my legs soft, massage was great. But I have had whole lot better treatment from salons in NY for that kind of money. read more
