I went on Saturday around Noon and had some fun in the theater, will definitely go again soon. Saturday seems like a good day to go.

I went on a Monday with the intention of visiting for a while. The clerk was obnoxious, so I won't be back.

I only wish I knew when I might find a woman to help me in the theater some time. Want to try sucking some time. :)

Could I get the rundown of Bob's Adult Books?

I suggest you stop in and say hi, the staff can explain anything you have questions about. You can also check out the website which answers most of the basic questions

What is the ratio of men to women in the arcade? Am looking for ladies.

Dante, Bob’s doesn't track customer demographics because everyone deserves privacy during their... personal time. Our arcade is for individual experiences, not social networking.

Are the theaters open during C-19?

Yes but u still have to wear masks

I love the option to buy used books. That being said I think their "we buy books" is pretty bad. I wish they gave more information. I brought in about 48 great condition popular books in. I had an appointment at 1:30pm that was made 3 weeks prior. I got there books in hand and was told the person who values the books to buy them was out but that I should get a call with an offer before 3:30pm. I killed some time around Salem as I wasn't expecting this to be quite the process and still had not gotten a call even though it was almost 4pm. I called them and they said the offer would be told to me in store. These are popular books from Carley Fortune, Tessa Bailey, Freida McFadden, Ali Hazelwood etc, and even some special editions of books with sprayed edges. All probably worth around $500 if you count each book as $10. After I came in to ask about my offer, the person helping me seemed pretty excited about all the books I had. Their offer was $57 in a check or $115 for store credit, it almost felt like a slap in the face to be honest. I told them that I'll think about it as I browsed the store. I took like half a lap through the store and went back to the front counter to let them know that I would be taking my books and declining their offer. As soon as I said that, immediate demeanor change in the employee and they just walked off while I had to put all my books back in the bags. Most of the time the staff are fine, but there is the occasional visit where I have staff a little too relaxed, almost as if they're not working at a bookstore. And there have been a few times I was waiting at the front counter ready to check out and not even looked at until the employees were done with their conversation which was anywhere from 1min to 10min. Prices are a bit high, but that's expected at an independent book store.

If you're thinking about taking one of these tours (and I'd advise against it), then call to make…read moresure you're scheduled to go with a trained guide. The night we attended, the owner had so many people signed up that he pawned half of us off on his teenage son and the son's apparent girlfriend. As the teenager-cum-tour guide led led us to a couple of downtown buildings, he stumbled through a few facts about the area architecture, but there were really no ghost stories, and not much actual information about Salem. When the teen did stop to point out architecture facts, he often got confused and muddled. "That building was constructed ... oh, actually, I forget when." "That's a masonic thing. My dad knows about that, but I don't." Occasionally, he was just totally factually wrong. "180,000 Chinese people lived in Salem in the 1800s. It is said that many of them are maybe buried in downtown." "I've been to the grave of Jack the Ripper in Rochester, NY." (Nobody knows who Jack-the-Ripper was.) Occasionally, the teen would check in with his girlfriend. "I forget what else. [Girl's name], have I missed anything?" Meanwhile, the apparent girlfriend slurped a starbucks frappucino. Occasionally, the apparent girlfriend would pipe up. When she did speak, she was more interesting than the teen -- telling a few Non-Salem anecdotes about Abraham Lincoln. At the end of the evening, we met up with the other tour group, which was guided by the proprietor and his wife. This couple (an actor and a spiritual medium) were actually pretty entertaining -- giving a few colorful ghost stories about actual Salem events. Spending time with this trained couple just showed us how much we were missing by going with the teenager and starbucks slurping girlfriend. So, unless you want to spend 90 minutes following muddled and half-forgotten stories, call ahead to MAKE SURE you are actually going with the adults.

Failed not once but twice on us!…read more This is where this company is based is in Salem OR whether you book for the Reno NV, the Carson City NV, or the Virginia City NV haunted walking tours. First of all, before I even get started with my rant, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY. They do not come through for you. In our case, twice a disappointing no-show of the tour guides! First booking was on April 26, 2014 we tried for the Reno NV haunted tour. Got there early to the location we were supposed to meet, even got a phone confirmation 10 minutes prior to the tour was supposed to start at 8:00p, waited for 30-min but the tour guide never showed up. It was only me and my hubby on this tour so maybe that's why they cancelled on us... but still! We were scheduled and got our phone confirmation. We called the following day to complain and they apologized and we were promised a free tour of any choice city we want aside from the Groupon deal. Yay! So I booked on-line using the Groupon deal and I was supposed to call them to set up the free tour. So, let's try this again... I booked online for the Carson City tour using the Groupon deal which was supposed to be last night, July 19, 2014. Guess what, another no-show! This time there are now 15 people pissed as 13 others showed up for this tour aside from us and some even coming from as far as San Francisco and Bay Area. Furthermore, all of us received email reminders confirming our tour the night before: "reminder about your upcoming activities." and at the end of the email "Have fun!" Just can't believe that this would happen to us twice! I'm sure we would get refunds from Groupon but it's just bad business on their part to not even give us a courtesy phone call that the tour would be cancelled or rescheduled or delayed or SOMETHING! The time and money spent to make it to these places coming from a distance are one thing but to be disappointed twice is even worse! How can we book our free tour if we couldn't even get a first tour! I read all of the reviews given by other Yelpers below and another disappointing thing had we completed one would be that the tour guide would have little or no knowledge of the history he/she would be giving a tour for. FAIL! One star is too nice to rate this establishment... they owe me a couple of stars! Ugh! Review #0217

I can write a whole essay about how grateful I am for Patty and maybe it's the hormones but reflecting to the day I gave birth to my son and the support I received from Patty makes me want to cry. On the day of my induction, Patty was with another client who was also going through an induction as well (this is a super rare case). Even though I know she was 100% present with her other client, she constantly checked in with me and reminded me I can reach out to her at any point during my induction process if I have questions or need support. She also set up a backup doula for "just in case" if I needed it. I was already laboring for 14 hours when Patty arrived, and she brought so much energy to the room and got me up and moving so I can dilate more. Patty was super supportive of my plans to do a natural birth but when I told her I was too tired and really wanted to sleep, she was fully supportive of my decision to get the epidural. I had Patty in the room with me during the epidural process and she guided me through the whole process and kept me calm. Once I got the epidural, I was able to rest but the whole time, Patty would help position my body differently so I can continue to open. She was by my side the rest of the night as I contract so my husband can also rest. As labor progress, we were told my son's heart rate was dropping when I contract and the word "c-section" was mentioned since I was only at 6cm dilated. I never mentally prepared for this so of course I started to spiral but Patty advocated for me and requested to our OBGYN team to give me more time to see if I can dilate more. Patty continues to position me differently but, in the end, c-section was the only way to ensure my son's safety. We only had a short time from the time I said "yes" to C-Section to going into the OR and the whole time, Patty was next to me, reassuring me, reminding me that no matter what the outcome will be that I get to meet my son very soon. My husband and I are extremely grateful for Patty. We strongly believe our birth story wouldn't have been so positive if it wasn't for Patty's presence, support, and guidance.

We were a little on the fence about hiring a doula since this was our second baby, but we really wanted that holistic, nurturing care that a hospital alone can't always provide -- and Nomarie was exactly what we'd hoped for. I'm not what you'd call a "country granola" type of mom -- I went into this birth fully planning on (and very much wanting!) all the pain relief and medical support. But there's still such an important place for a doula in that environment. Nomarie helped bring warmth, connection, and a truly holistic touch to what could have otherwise felt like a very clinical experience. From the very first meeting, she made us feel comfortable, supported, and truly heard. She took the time to understand our hopes for the birth and was such a calming, confident presence every step of the way. When labor began, Nomarie was our angel -- grounding us through every contraction, guiding my partner on how to support me, and helping us navigate all the twists and turns that came our way. Even when things got complicated after our baby was born, she never left our side. Her steady reassurance and calm energy made us feel safe and less scared during a really overwhelming moment. Looking back, I honestly can't imagine our birth experience without her. She helped us feel empowered and cared for in one of the most intense and beautiful moments of our lives. I would recommend Doula Love and Nomarie a thousand times over -- they gave us the support we didn't even know we needed.
