We were exploring Portsmouth a bit late of the day. We walked around town. Then decided on dinner to takeout. Our kids decided on having poke so our choice is to bring it back to our hotel to eat. We walked in the resturant and was empty. One guy was running the whole floor. Our food was just OK. I mean you can't go wrong with rotisserie chicken. Lol. It was not the juiciest chicken ever. Was actually a bit dry on the breasts. The corn was tasteless. Lol. The butternut squash tasted like sweet potatoes mash. Lol. It was OK also. Broccoli was in huge pieces. 3 stars for OK food and the guy was really nice.

Came here hoping for something different. I had decide to get a potpie and a 2 thigh quarter meal but I was undecided on the side when I came in to order. I went with 3 sides, 1 with my potpie in which I got a cole slaw, and 2 with my chicken plate and got mac and cheese and real mashed potatoes. I got the chicken gravy with my plate as well. I was surprised and happy that there was a $5 Yelp check coupon which I got to use as I has bought enough to get the discount. The restaurant itself is a real old feel diner style restaurant that you hardly see anymore. Bench style chair and not that large at all. They had a pie shelf as well which you rarely see anymore. There was a reading group there at the time, and a group of first time visitors as well. I just ordered take out as I wanted to watch some videos at my hotel. I got the food and it was quite heavy which was great. At my hotel, I ate the chicken pot pie. It was like thick chicken soup with fresh chicken with a puff pastry on top. Not the kind of pot pie I was expecting but it was good. The cole slaw was forgetable but they gave a lot. After eating the pot pie I was full so I took my chicken plate to work with me. I think I messed up the reheating of the plate but the chicken was still perfect and tasty, I overcook microwaved the mac and cheese and underheated the potatoes and gravy. But they all tasted delicious and I know that fresh it would have been perfectly delicious. I was pretty amazed that the chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I think I would definitely come here again if I am craving chicken. The waitress/counter lady was really nice too. She was part of the reading group as well.

We were driving from Boston to Portland, ME when we stopped by Portsmouth NH for lunch when we happen to see Bob's Broiled Chicken Resto. Looked like it had good reviews on Yelp so we tried it. Well, it didn't disappoint! The servings were big but what caught my amazement was their presentation of their pot pie! The flaky "pie" crust was on top of the chicken and vegetables we usually see inside the regular pie. The portion was huge (for me) and it tasted really good!

Comfort food at its finest. In Portsmouth's West End. Great chicken, terrific meat loaf. A little quiet inside but relaxing.

Located at the Gallagher's Place strip plaza, Bob's Broiled Chicken is one of those hidden gems, which serves up great tasting rotisserie broiled chicken for dine-in or takeout. The menu also offers chicken tenders, wings, pot pie, haddock, salads, soups, sandwiches, tasty sides, kids meals, cold & hot drinks, and desserts. Weekday Lunch Specials served 11:30AM to 3:00PM. Beer and wine are available. See the menu at http://www.bobschicken.com The full service dining room has booth & table seating with red and green painted walls with country decor like the holidays at Grandma's. The clientele seems to attract an older crowd because the prices here are very reasonable with good food portions. Recently, I stopped here for takeout and got the Cold Sliced Roast Chicken Wrap (wheat) with a side of sausage stuffing & corn bread ($7.00 with tax). The Chicken Wrap was very tasty, which had cold juicy cubed chicken slices, lettuce, tomato slices, & mayo in a wheat wrap. However, the wrap was very fragile and fell apart as I was eating, messy-messy. The sausage stuffing and sweet cornbread were very good as well too. Can't wait to come back for more! HOURS: Mon-Sat: 11:30AM-9:00PM; Sun: 4:00PM-8:00PM

The food appearance was horrible and the taste was even nastier. The French fries were dead not crispy at all and they were mixed with the corn. Yuck Plus the chicken was not broiled at all. Will never ever return to this nasty restaurant.

Maaz's Chicken serves up fried chicken, sandwiches, gyros, burgers, rice platters, fried seafood, appetizers, salads, desserts, and cooler drinks (Pepsi products/Gatorade). The prices here seem reasonable. I stopped by Maaz's Chicken for lunch and dinner on Grand Opening Day when they were giving out free lunch (selected items) and 50 percent off the menu all day. The place was very busy with a line out the door. The owner had a DJ playing music near the entrance and chatting with customers. The owner is from Rhode Island and actually works across the border in Mass. The owner was looking for a place to open a chicken restaurant and chose Franklin, NH since it's a good area, bypassing Franklin, MA (for now) much closer to Bellingham, MA and Rhode Island. The lunch line was very busy and I eventually got up to the counter and ordered the Chicken Sandwich and 2 pc Fried Chicken with Fries and can of Diet Pepsi and strawberry Hood Ice Cream for dessert, all complementary for lunch. The chicken sandwich was big with a thick breaded buffalo tender with lettuce & mayo, pretty good. The shoestring fries were decent and the fried chicken had a nice crispy salty coating on the outside. I decided I would return later for dinner takeout. I returned for dinner takeout several hours later and the place was getting slammed with the line almost to the door. I ordered a bunch of food including a Beef Gyro ($8.99 plus tax), 6 Mozzarella Sticks ($6.25 plus tax), Chicken Over Rice Platter ($10.99 plus tax) and a 2 Pc Tilapia with Fries & Slaw ($11.99 plus tax). With the Grand Opening Discount, my total with tax was $20.83. After ordering, there was another line of customers waiting to pick up their food after paying. I waited about 16 minutes for my big order to be all set. They did run out of cole slaw and let me substitute Banana Pudding which is normally the same price as cole slaw ($2.99 plus tax). I checked my order before leaving and everything was there. I enjoyed my big dinner back at the office and the portions of food were generous. The Chicken Over Rice Platter was excellent, which had firm seasoned rice topped with marinated hot chicken pieces, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, white sauce. The Beef Gyro was overflowing with beef gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and a house dressing in a soft warm thick wrap. The Mozzarella Sticks were standard and came with marinara dipping sauce. The 2 Pc Tilapia with Fries was comprised of 2 good size fried tilapia filets with a seasoned breading and a pile of shoestring fries, tartar sauce was provided too. The Banana Pudding was sweet and topped with Nilla Wafer cookies. Overall, I was able to try a variety of foods here at Maaz's Chicken including the grand opening lunch and discounted dinner food. The fried chicken though crispy outside was very salty and dry, probably due to the volume of customers ordering the same thing. The fries at lunch time were not very hot (staff trying to serve the masses at lunch) and the fries I got with my tilapia dinner were hot and firm. The Chicken Over Rice Platter and Beef Gyro were excellent and my favorites of the day. This rating is based on the dinner takeout (4.5/5.0) and not on the grand opening lunch.

The restaurant was a good atmosphere with lots of TVs and yelling patrons (yelling at the football game, etc) and the host at the front was kind. We got 20 boneless chicken wings with 4 different sauces and the French fries. The best part of the meal was the French fries and carrots/celery... the wings were not good at all and just had the sauces slopped on each of the wings. It was just unappealing and honestly I couldn't even fake liking ONE of the sauces.

After sitting down, I asked our server if I could order an alcoholic drink. She checked my ID, seemed satisfied, and handed it back to me. However, a few minutes later, a manager approached our table. She had black hair, was wearing glasses, and had a tattoo on her right forearm. She requested my ID, claiming she needed to run it through the "scanner." This turned out to be entirely untrue, she never scanned the card. Instead, she handed it back and aggressively stated, "That shit is fake as fuck, get the fuck out and get a better one next time." Stunned by her hostility, I genuinely thought she was joking. When I asked if she was being serious, she refused to serve me alcohol and defiantly told me to call the police myself. I called the Portsmouth PD. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes for an officer to arrive on the scene. During this entire 90-minute wait, my friend and I were completely ignored. Our original server entirely abandoned our table, refusing to check on us even once, while actively waiting on and serving all the surrounding tables. When the police officer finally arrived, they verified that my identification was 100% authentic and legal. Despite this official verification, both the manager and our original server--who had been incredibly disrespectful and hostile when I previously tried to reason with them--refused to offer any form of apology or admit their mistake. Following the incident, we were assigned a new server. She advised us that if we ever chose to return to this location, we should explicitly "avoid" that specific manager because she "has had behavioral problems in the past." Behavioral and disciplinary issues at this level from a management figure is completely unacceptable and needs to be corrected. This entire degrading situation was entirely avoidable. While I have been a frequent and loyal customer of Buffalo Wild Wings, this experience was so severe that I don't know if I'd ever return.

Lets start with the Chive cakes. Unassuming at first, I got them and said "how good could these be?" - one bite put that thought to rest. There is some kind of seasoning they dust these with that makes them pop - its salty, a little bright, makes your mouth water. Pair it with the dipping sauce and that whole experience gets jacked up a couple notches. Scallion pancake type dishes don't excite me much, but this one was my favorite to date. Just know going in - a scallion pancake (or chive in this case) is still just that - its not going to knock you onto the floor, they are just very good. Now the chicken, how the heck did they get the skin so crisp and feel so light? I preferred the leg over the thigh, it stayed a little more moist. The thigh wasn't dry by any means, but it didn't stay as juicy as I expected. That said the dipping sauce I got, Nam Jim Jaew helped pull it all together. It was salty, full of umami, had good acidity, nice freshness from the aromatics mixed in - all in all, this was a great meal and I'd definitely recommend making it a stop. Food came out quick, and if you're solo like I was, there is single-seating along the wall which really maximizes the space in here.
