Lord's is delicious! I've only had the burgers there, which are smashed and yummy. Beware, though, they are greasy. Coleslaw is good and so are the fries. Employees are always nice, and there are plenty of tables to eat at. Will be returning to try some seafood! read more

Vast menu, not just seafood. Had the scallop dinner and clam dinner. Hubby was very happy with the clams and the scallops were passable. The cold slaw has pineapple in it, not tradition, tasty but a bit odd with seafood. And the fries, though tasty are string fries more suited for a fast food place and a rather small portion. The prices are high for what we had. Probably will not be back. read more

Lord's Clam Box offers an order and eat-in/drive-through or to-go style menu with offerings of fried clams, onion rings and other fried seafoods. The fried seafood was very good, though the portion was small compared to the price. The food was good and we enjoyed having this alternative to other fast-food chains in the area. read more

We did a take out, our order was for shrimp roll and lobster roll along side of calamari. We enjoyed our calamari. This seems like a must appetizer for my family! Shrimp roll was dynamite, loved how the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Lobster roll was delicious, they give mayo on the side. I found this to be an excellent idea; you can mix as much or as little as you want. And you know mayo is not used as a filler. Our takeout was great and the prices were fair. The food itself is great and you cannot go wrong. Highly recommend a visit, if you are in the area and craving some New England seafood, I am glad we did! read more

We try to eat at Lord's in Sanford at least once during the summer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is always very clean with a friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For the first time I ordered the Lazy Lobster $28.95. Advertised as chopped lobster meat from 2 lobsters. What I was served was a single teeny claw and chopped knuckle meat. I fully expected at a minimum of 4 claws and 2 tails. The manager explained the amount was 6 ounces equal to 2 lobsters. The menu is misleading. Very disappointed! No plans to go back or recommend the restaurant. Owners please take note. read more

Been going there about four years with some of the family. Some of my family travels to Sanford every month from Old Orchard. I'm big on clam chowder. In my opinion it's the best clam chowder I've ever had. And I've tried a lot of restaurants who serve it. The service is fast and good. What I like a lot of the items come small medium and large. I'm not a big fried seafood fan but this place wasn't bad. The fry was nice and light. Onion rings were really good! Seafood was fresh although I got a fried chIcken sandwich. The bun was kind of gross and the cheese even more gross. My main problem was the waste of tableware, containers and such. I can't imagine the cost of all that stuff. Why not use plastic baskets at least? I or probably won't be back simply because of all the waste. read more

Some menu items even have the same names. But the experience is not. Intrigued by the menu, which offered a variety of reasonably priced options, we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, we were greeted by friendly staff at the counter. After browsing the menu, we settled on a few items: Haddock Chowder, a Fried Haddock and Cheese Sandwich box lunch, a Fried Chicken and Cheese Sandwich boxed lunch, and two sodas. The total came to $40, which we found quite reasonable for a meal for two. After placing our order, we were given a pager that would alert us when our food was ready. We chose a table inside, and to our delight, our meals were ready in a very timely manner. The Haddock Chowder was a thin broth with a wonderfully creamy and buttery flavor. The Fried Haddock and Cheese Sandwich was equally tasty, perfectly fried and satisfying. The Fried Chicken and Cheese Sandwich also hit the mark. The restaurant itself was very clean, including the restrooms, which is always a plus in my book. Additionally, there was plenty of parking available, making it convenient for diners. If you find yourself in the Sanford area and are looking for a no frills quick meal at a decent price, I highly recommend trying Lord's Clam Box. Love, love, LOVE their fried whole belly clams, tastes like the ones I had as a kid. Makes all the other clam joints taste very bland, and a little rubbery. Lord's are awesome. I never order the dinner because I really don't care for what comes with it. So I get just the fried clams and an order of onion rings...delish also. I hear the scallops are great too, but I just can't take myself away from the clams. Oh, and their desserts...premium...no dried out cakes there. The staff has always been very friendly. I usually call in my order, and it's always ready in the less than ten minutes it takes for me to get there...of course it's not Mother's Day when I go...lol The prices seem compatible with other seafood places, but Lord's is much better quality...I have friends that tell me how their orders are...never a complaint. I even took some to a friends house in Lewiston, and she loved everything also...especially the potato salad...we reheated the clams and onion rings in her oven, which dried them out a bit, but still very good. I don't know why it's taken me so long to find Lords, never knew there was another location...which I hear is closed now. If you want good old fashioned fried clams, Lord's is the place to go! read more

When my wife asked if they had the blueberry beer, he took the menu from the table and stood there reading it silently instead of checking with the bartender. Later, when my wife went to modify a dish, he said he was not sure they could do that. She told him, "I know they can. I do this every time I am here," and that is when he mentioned he had only been working there a few months. It explained the uncertainty, but it did not make the interaction smoother. The strangest moment was when I said I did not like the club soda. He came back and said, "Since you do not like the club soda you will not like the flat water, so I brought you a sparkling bottle instead since it is the same price." It was not rude. It was simply a very odd assumption and not something I have ever had a server decide on their own. On the positive side, the star of the meal, and honestly every time we come, is the shrimp cocktail. Huge shrimp served over crushed ice with cocktail sauce and extra horseradish. The shrimp were incredibly fresh, very firm, and had that perfect crunch with each bite. Absolutely delicious. The kitchen continues to deliver, and the rest of the staff seemed great, but the service at our table did not match the usual experience. We will be back for the food, especially that shrimp cocktail, but hopefully with a more confident and consistent front of house experience next time.
