    Full salad bar and soup

I loved the full salad bar and had two plates! Ordered the combo dinner of haddock, stuffed shrimp and scallops which was great. There were rolls with the meal and my drink was just what I needed after a long trip. We ended up taking home a slice of chocolate cake and white chocolate raspberry brûlée. Our server was pretty cool and very friendly

Excellent burger, cooked perfect and lettuce/tomato was crisp. Fries were hit and delicious. The fish and chips were lightly breaded and fried to perfection, not greasy. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely will return.

We got there at the right time, parties after us had a wait. Brandy not our waitress was awesome, she came over to our table to make sure someone had been over to see us, our waitress was good but Brandy was excellent she had many tables and some of them large but she was doing it all with a smile. The prime rib was delicious, cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes are real mashed potatoes. Warm rolls were crispy and chewy. The blueberry cheesecake was delicious and the blueberry was good but should've gotten ice cream or something

This is a local staple. It has a country vibe, with a lot of seating. The entrée comes with the soup and salad bar (which looks like a boat). Mom had the haddock and I chose the maple pork chop. Both were prepared well and we both enjoyed then.

We LOVE this place when in tow. Great fresh seafood, daily specials and staff that is always friendly. They've been in business for over 50 years with the same owners. Not super fancy it I go there for the GREAT FOOD

We drove down the road a bit and sat at some picnic tables overlooking the harbor to dine. It was really windy, but I was happy with my bisque. They threw in a lobster roll bun for me at the last minute and that really was appreciated. It was so good and this might be the best way for me to enjoy lobster. The service is quick and the line backs up so you had better know what you want when you get to the front. The gals were efficient and friendly, what more could you ask for? Would definitely be back to enjoy this bisque again.

Footbridge lobster vs Lobster Shack review…read more Location: Footbridge lobster is located right next door to Lobster shack right by the footbridge. Seating: Footbridge js TAKE OUT ONLY with a big window you walk up to order and pickup. There are some benches nearby you might get lucky or you can stand by the bridge and eat. Lobster shack has seating and bathrooms. Price: On a Monday post lunch hour, I ordered the Lobster roll with clam chowder soup. Foot bridge is cheaper if you buy the combo outside of the lunch special hour compared to lobster shack. If you buy during lunch hour, they both are about similar in pricing. FOOD: The biggest difference between the two was TEXTURE. Footbridge offered a bouncy/chewier texture while Lobster Shack offered a softer easier to pull apart lobster. Secondly, the bread is slightly smaller at footbridge but the meat is 5oz almost singular piece versus lobster rolls multiple smaller pieces. Clam chowder was similar in the sense that footbridge had a thicker milkier consistency like most New England clam chowder while Lobster shack had more meat/substance but thinner liquid base with a somewhat coconut type taste. Both lobsters and clam chowder are unique and tasty in their own way and all boils down to preference. At this moment in time, I prefer footbridge for the lobster roll and the clam chowder at lobster shack. If I went outside of lunch hour, footbridge will be my go to for the slightly better price and less broken down pieces of lobster. If you don't like to chew - lobster shack

My Mom ordered a cup of chowder, thank goodness she didn't order the bowl because she said it was absolutely awful. To be fair, their menu does explain how theirs is different from typical chowder. My Mom said it was really watery and had no flavor. Luckily she also ordered some shrimp, whichi took a while to come out but were great. I ordered the chicken breast plain sandwich with no tomatoes, fried, and a side Caesar salad with blue cheese dressing. They brought it out with the tomato, good thing I am not allergic to tomatoes. The sandwich was great, tons of chicken and it wasn't too dry. I learned about "buckie" rolls and that they are soft and break easily. I ended up eating my chicken with a fork!! I needed more dressing and the server didn't bring in a timely fashion, the lettuce being wilted by the time she brought it. The pickle on the plate was good, but the fries were just OK. We were able to get a window seat in the bar, which made for a nice start to our Maine vacation. I would come here again, and would probably order the same thing. My mom, however, would probably not!!

We went on $1 oyster day, and they were fresh and delicious. Service was a little slow but it looked like there was some new staff training. The restaurant sits on the edge of the salt marsh so some nice dining views. All in all a nice spot for our lunch.

We started the evening with cocktails which were very much to our liking, followed by a delicious appetizer of lobster risotto that we shared. We both ordered the short ribs which were mouthwatering and cooked to perfection that the meat fell off the bone. The servings were enough where we took the bones and whatever meat was left to make a delicious beef soup. Neither one of us were up for dessert but decided to get two to go, which we downed once we got home. And they were both delicious. In closing, I'd be remiss without saying a good word about our server Keila. She was warm, friendly, funny, and very attentive to our table. She made our night to enjoyable! Thanks you Keila ! We look forward to our next visit to The Village Inn soon.

For years, Village Tavern was my favorite restaurant in Southern Maine. That's what makes this…read morereview so difficult to write. If you loved Village Tavern under the previous owners, you should know that the beloved restaurant you remember no longer exists. The name is the same. The esthetic is the same. Some menu items even have the same names. But the experience is not. During our visit, the calamari, salmon, duck, and haddock were all cooked properly, yet each dish was surprisingly bland and forgettable. Many longtime favorites, including the wide selection of side dishes like the broccoli with blue cheese, are gone. This isn't a bad restaurant on its own merits. The problem is that it's trading on the reputation of something that no longer exists. What I find most puzzling is that the new owners kept the Village Tavern name while abandoning so much of what made it successful. When a restaurant has earned decades of loyalty, you would expect new ownership to preserve its strengths. Instead, it feels like they discarded the very things that built its reputation. I left disappointed, but mostly sad. A restaurant I once considered one of the best in Southern Maine is now simply pedestrian and overly priced. Former fans should adjust their expectations accordingly or avoid the disappointment altogether.
