First time trying bobs and unfortunately the experience wasn't a good one. Dirtiest bathroom and floors I've seen in a restaurant in a long time. On top of that, it took over an hour to get breakfast and the food was not good. French toast was cold and the biscuits and gravy was the so bland. The food was ok, the service was horrible. It took 45 minutes to get our meal. Large soda is supposed to come with a refill, i didn't get one even though i had finished drinking mine before the food arrived. Was not offered ketchup with my fries. A large party showed up and the server ignored us and the rest of her area. She brought us our check after we had been finished eating for 10 minutes and said "whenever you're ready" and walked away as I was trying to hand her my credit card. She didn't return and i had to pay at the register despite being told i should pay her directly. C'mon now...you go to Bob's Cafe for REALLY salty curly fries, 13 different burger choices, or cinnamon rolls & homemade cookies the size of your head!! Bob's is there for you at 1:30 AM. after you finally get out of the parking lot at a concert at the Gorge in George. Bob's will win you over with 24 hour breakfast and a come-as-you-are atmosphere and FAST, HOT food. Avoid the "Slamwhich" with mystery meat at Denny's. Don't bother with $4 soy lattes at Starbucks. Bob's has a large tractor out in front of the entrance! Other then that, its the standard road side dinner. Bar opens at 11:00 and breakfast is served all day. Service is slow and not super friendly unless they know you. Prices and food is average. Beer selection is very poor unless you like Bud or Miller. I didn't even see any wine choices. read more

Went to Bob's today based on Mark's review. Overall I was pretty happy with things here. It is indeed Diner style food, a classic roadside stop off. This place is conveniently located right off of the highway. I had a nice top sirloin steak which comes with the usual kinds of side starches and a salad. The dinner menu seemed to me to be a bit limited, however the lunch and breakfast menus looked awesome. I can't wait to go back and grab some breakfast some weekend morning. read more

Not much to say besides it's your classic roadside diner conveniently located directly off of the highway. The dinner menu may be slightly small but the lunch and breakfast menu, which are both served all day, are huge. I would recommend sticking to that menu. I ordered the ribs. They weren't quite tender enough for me and not particularly flavorful. My friend got the Monte Cristo. Now that was a glob of gooey goodness. And you could actually taste the individual components of french toast, cheese and meat. I was jealous I didn't order it. While there I noticed a gigantic burger that weighs over a pound. There are also giant home baked cookies and brownies for sale. I'm gonna have to get me some of those someday when I'm passing through. read more

A good diner. This is where the locals eat. Don't go to Shari's across the street. A previous Yelper said they found the service to be rude. I had the opposite experience. I get the impression that they might be rude to someone who comes in with unrealistic expectations. This place is where the farmers and the truckers go to eat home-cookin. If you come in here from Seattle and ask for some kind of specialty coffee, and show them a picture from an in-flight magazine to explain how you want your steak cooked . . . well in that case your reception might be a bit chilly? I'm just guessing though, because they treated us like old friends. We had dinner there. Prime rib was excellent. Dad's steak was blue-rare, just how he liked it. My steak was very tough (like bend the fork tough), but I mean its a diner in the middle of nowhere I wasn't expecting wagyu. Nice, decent breakfast place of a caliber similar to a Denny's or Village Inn. Quaint older decor and a casual clientele of locals. It's a comfy place. We had pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage: classics. They were all fine, served hot and fast, with the usual trio of syrups (in this case, "maple," apricot, and blackberry) that put me in the requisite sugar coma. The eggs were a bit rubbery, but the pancake flavor was good, and the bacon was perfectly cooked and not super greasy. They have an extensive menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare, but I haven't tried anything else. We'll probably head back there for another breakfast. I've been to Bob's many, many times over the years. This place hands down has the best breakfast in Moses Lake. I've been here for lunch and dinner and it's- eh, sort of average, but over all pretty bland. But it's breakfasts... wow... it deserves 5 stars just for that. I will venture to say that Bob's has the best chicken fried steak breakfast anywhere in WA. The steak is tender and generous in size, coated with well seasoned flour and cooked to perfection. The star of the shoe is the cream gravy in all it's goodness. I always ask that it's slathered over my hash browns in addition to the steak for good measure. In fact, even when I haven't ordered the chicken fried steak, I've asked for gravy on the browns. The eggs benedict can't be forgotten, either. Homemade hollandaise poored over two perfectly poached eggs, ham and english muffins. And don't forget about the bacon. the bacon is thick and meaty (no denny's style paper thin stuff here). As we entered the decrepit diner at 9:40, we were ignored by the oh so courteous payment clerks. Eventually an older woman brought us to a table. Given 6 sets of silverware even though we were only a party of 3, I was expecting the over achieving style of service to continue on. Unfortunately, this was the end of that era, and began the passive aggressive war of 2016. We ordered as follows, Riley went for the cinnamon roll. Kyle chose the #2, hash browns and eggs. I decided upon an omelet, looking for a high protein breakfast to start off my day. As the waitress took our menus, she forgot to warn us that we were in for a bit of a wait. I thought I had known these two friends of mine i went to high school with fairly well, but a 45 minute wait at Bob's would show me otherwise. We covered topics from meth addicts to motocross, and most importantly how damn hungry we were. Finally, we saw the waitress walking towards us with an off white, oval plate. It was the cinnamon roll. With a diabolical grin, she informed us that the rest of the food would be on the table shortly. Riley took a stab at the roll of cinnamon and did it take a stab back. Expecting a warm, gooey, soft delicacy, he was presented with what was better represented as a hardened white dog turd. Dry, crumbly, but hotter than the sun itself, the disappointment had began, but it definitely didn't stop anytime soon. A single tear left my eye watching the waitress leave us, as if a fireman had entered a burning building and left me behind. We watched Riley attempt to put down the cinnamon roll that was drier than the Sahara desert, but at the rate we were having our water refilled he probably could have crossed the Sahara before finishing it. We continued to wait, with silence quickly coming over the table, true hunger settling in. We were slowly losing conciseness, but before going under completely we saw two more oval plates coming our way. I knew this would pay off! It was time to eat! Let this be a lesson to children around the world, don't count your chickens before they hatch. The waitress laid down the plates, Kyle receiving his eggs and hash browns, but something different was placed in front of me. It was bacon and eggs, no omelet to be seen. I was too hungry to make any complaint about the food, but in the background of the diner someone yelled "DON'T TOUCH IT". The waitress was back and she lifted the much needed calories from the table, promptly apologized for serving me the wrong plate and assured me my omelet would be ready soon. At this point in the morning, I am broken. I have already watched Riley ingest Bob's take on the cinnamon roll, but now I have to watch Kyle eat eggs and hash browns? What did I do to deserve this, was it from peeking in my stocking before Christmas, or possibly forgetting to tell my long lost uncle happy birthday? Whatever the reason, I thought this punishment was plenty, and could only hope that it would get better from here on out. As Kyle inhaled his eggs, which were average quality, he attacked the hash browns like a Greek spartan. The crispy top looked so inviting, as if the hash browns were begging to be eaten. Below that wonderful top layer however, was raw, shredded potato. Seriously Bob, how can you sleep at night? I forget what happened while I was waiting out the final minutes before I was served, was it from lack of calories? Most likely, but for Bob's sake lets just say I was tired. During our final encounter with our elder waitress, she delivered my meal. This is only after watching both of my friends eat and a "short" 45 minute wait. I don't know if I can effectively critic the omelet, given I was in an early stage of starvation. It wasn't bad honesty, but the hash browns that were served with it were also raw... We were done with our food, stomachs half full, hope lost, and wallets open. Walking to the payment counter we would be presented with our final surprise of the morning. The weakest link the in Bob's staff, the cashier. Judging from the her attitude, she had been there for awhile and was sick of taking customers money. Their card reader was not functioning properly, but they made an effort to try. After swiping countless times, the cashier reluctantly decided she would process our transaction in the back. Disappearing with our credit cards, I was slightly concerned. I have lost all trust in the Bob's staff so handing off my credit card to a stranger affiliated with the cafe was slightly worrying. We waited, and waited, and you guessed it, waited some more. She came back with our cards, handed us our receipts, glared, and started working with the next poor victim, I mean customer of the cafe. If you want to show your children the feelings of malnutrition, disappointment, hopelessness, or any other depressing experiences of life, take them Bob's. I almost didn't go here due to the reviews, but I am sure glad I did. I read the review about the Ultimate Omelette (called the special) and that was the deciding factor. I had this same Omelette and it was very good. I have tried omelets at at least 15 different places this year. I have had better, but definitely had many worse. The fruit that came with the omelette (sub instead of potatoes) was the best fruit dish I have ever had with an omelette. The service was amazingly quick, and coffee service was fantastic. Sometimes I think I could make better food than them even though I don't spend much time in it. I went many years ago with my girlfriend and had one of their burgers which I gave (not literally) 3.5 stars. After a few years I decided to go back and give it another try since my coworkers loved to go to Bob's after work and catch up. I went a few times that year and a half (mostly getting take out) and these were the results. I used to work nights. Spaghetti was kinda dry one night but not too bad. Burrito was ok another night. One day the omelet was just bad. It was dry, had been sitting for a while and the cheese was cold. Needed salt badly. Service was slow and low quality. Another night the burger was dry and not even put together. I opened the box and it was just thrown in there. It was too much work for the cook. Their nachos one night weren't all that, you could tell it was canned veggies and the container was saturated with the sauce, chili and cheese. I thought I was gonna get a heart attack. Biscuits and gravy are good. Pancakes are a little undercooked and unflavored most days but at least they're dinner plate sized. Don't get them in the afternoon, at that time they're the worst. They got nothing, not even close on Denny's pancakes which are very delicious and the total opposite of what they have. Hashbrowns are in the burnt side and their ketchup sitting in the tables tastes like it's 20 years old. I don't think they believe in sugar or salt in their cooking. Sorry to roast you guys but someone's gotta do it! If Gordon were to walk in disguised I can only imagine his way of describing the things there. Their small bowls of soup of the day are good, they're easy to make I believe, just pop em in the microwave and serve to the customer. I stopped with my wife today at Bob's for a late breakfast. I ordered Coffee and a chicken fried steak breakfast. The service was very slow in coming. There were 7 gals working and 6 tables with people at them. After ordering I was able to get a gal busing the tables to get me a second cup of coffee as our waitress had diapered. When the waitress brought our breakfast it was just a drop off and I'm gone. The more of the steak I ate the worse it tasted. I took about 4 bites and was done. I did eat some of the hash browns and the toast. The waitress came back and asked me if I wanted a box for the left over meat. I told her that it was bad and she thought I was joking. I got sick shortly after leaving Bob"s. I have been eating at Bob's for years, no more. I'm done. read more

As I do a tour of an area's local businesses, I make more notes on the ones that struggle, but have potential to improve. Gordon Ramsey; this is the only restaurant in Moses lake I am making the recommendation, that if given the chance he could help Bobs. This place looks like an all American diner, but could use help. Everyone in my family raved about the food which included biscuits, and gravy. My father had a pancake which looked great, and was well received. At the cash register they had very large cookies. Stopped for breakfast at Bob's Café on Sunday, April 29. We arrived about 10:30 and were seated promptly. A waitress came and took our order shortly after that. From then, we waited over 45 minutes for our food, which was mediocre at best. The waitress was obviously embarrassed by the slow service; after a while she would not even make eye contact. At one point I heard the waitress explain to new customers that it would be a 45 minute wait for food. Those customers left without ordering anything. When the food finally arrived, there was no apology for the slow service. I ordered French toast, but sadly I had to eat it without syrup as the syrup container the waitress put on our table was filthy. I looked into the kitchen while I was checking out and saw that there was one cook who apparently could only prepare one meal at a time. Bob's could also use a good cleaning. All of the wood in the whole place has a nasty stickiness to it. I like supporting local business when I travel, but Bob's won't be getting any more of my business. read more

The food was decent, we went here for dinner, I had the Pork Chops, my hubby had the double bacon cheese burger, our mom had the traditional turkey dinner. Hubby said the burger was not that bad its not home made patty but they seasoned it, i tasted his curly fries and it was good, my pork chops and rice pilaf was tasty, I enjoyed it. Years ago this was a favorite for us, but the service and quality are not what they used to be and I'd no longer eat here. My food had something rancid in it, and I didn't eat it. The waitstaff never checked on us or asked how the food was, or they'd have seen that I didn't eat my meal. When we paid, I told our cashier. She shrugged and said she'd tell the kitchen to check their stock?... and then charged me full price and didn't even apologize for the terrible food and bad service. This is a mom and pop diner for American breakfast. Their quantities are huge. The food is tasty. Tried the Bob' omelet. It is sufficient for two people. Poor service, low quality food. This review is going off of my first two visits with some friends during the night hours. When arriving on the first visit to the restaurant my friends did not find much flavor out of the burgers served here. On the second visit, we ordered the blueberry french toast, strawberry pancakes, and the chicken cordon bleu with some of the tomato mac soup. The soup arrived first and was plain like any other tomato soup, but with over cooked ziti pasta that was falling apart and was blending into the soup. It would be another 50 minutes before we saw any other food and there were only about six diners in the restaurant. Not a single person asked if we needed something and during this time three unattended customers left. When the food arrived, the pancakes were cold because of the frozen strawberries, the french toast was bland with no cinnamon/vanilla flavor, the chicken was dry and the whole burger itself was bland and flavorless. My side that came with the burger was also forgotten. Due to poor service, and very low-quality food I will not be coming here again. read more

There were people who were seated after my order was placed that got their food before me. I"m talking groups of people. It seems that if you are a single person your order takes second fiddle to a table with two or more. Even if the single order was placed first. The last time I was there I arrived shortly before 1:00. My order was taken before 1:00. A few minutes later a couple is seated. Shortly after, four men are seated. Like chicken could have passed for cardboard. Especially after the bleach started up, I stopped eating and got a refund for it on way out. Husbands Thanksgiving dinner was slop. You can have yams, if you ask for them we were told. Rot gut booze in my Mai Tai. Husband asked about beers- waitress had to get bartender to come out to share what few they have but even she lacked confidence and knowledge about what to offer for an ale. I've had breakfast here many times and it's always been great. Tonight was my first, and last, dinner. I ordered the special: Lasagna. It was truly the worst meal in recent memory and the worst lasagna I've ever had; dried out crunchy noodles, very little sauce, even less ricotta, no meat at all. They didn't even attempt to make it look nice; just spooned up and dumped on the plate. It looked like something I ate and lost and, I have a feeling, it soon will be. It came with a salad (fresh and delicious), canned green beans and grilled (on one side) white bread posing as garlic bread. The server was contrite mainly, I suppose, because I first asked if it was good and she said, "very". Apparently, the manager agreed with me because she dumped the remainder, removed it from the specials board and, although I'd insisted on paying because I ate it (I was ravenous) and Judge Judy says if you eat it you gotta pay for it, from my check; which I did not ask her to do. My family and I went here after taking the advise from someone who has lived here longer than us. We went for dinner, but found that the dinner menu was limited. For my three kids, the hit was the chicken drumsticks kids plate . This had two drumsticks and fries. The miss was the kids pizza. It looked like one of those frozen pizzas that people sell for a fundraiser. It was small and tasteless. My wife enjoyed her chicken strips, and my chicken fried steak was ok, but it was small and did not have much flavor. Chicken Fried Steak is a diner staple, and it was just ok. Sysco or USFoods formula restaurant. Pretty much what you can find all over the country. I opted for not fast food since I am sick of overly sweet bread/buns that all the fast food places serve up. I grabbed a seat at the counter and was greeted quickly and given a menu. Nothing unique so I opted for a hot beef sandwich. The sandwich comes with a salad which was straight up iceberg/shredded carrot/red cabbage from a bag with bagged croutons tossed on top and drenched with a liberal amount of Sysco brand Italian dressing. The sandwich arrived fairly quickly and was doused in Sysco brand brown gravy which was heavily salted and fairly gummy. The roast beef itself had an off taste as though it had been roasted sometime in the last week, sliced up and refrigerated. The mashed potatoes were lumpy but I don't think they were real mashed potatoes just whipped potatoes that were not well mixed. Service was okay but the waitress seemed a bit distracted and I had to ask for my bill to be able to pay. The best part was that I was in and out in less than 15 minutes but I doubt I will stop in Bob's again. read more

They serve breakfast all day which my kids were excited about and ordered pancakes with strawberries. The helpings were huge! Hubs ordered fish and chips and said it was good but the tarter wasn't to his taste (he still ate it all). I ordered a patty melt it was good. We will be coming back. read more
