Same experience as another customer that visited 3 weeks ago. We drove by saw the lights on and the open sign still in the window so decided to try this place after so many good reviews. After walking in, the 2 employees were sweeping the floor and chairs were on tables at 2:30. The sign says they are open until 4:30. We asked them were they still open and the sweet young girl said yes it was fine to order. Two more families walked in behind us. The cook was SO MAD and talked so loud to let all of us know about how they were closing and she should be home and that it was going to be at least 15 min. for our food because now she had to cook more hotdogs. She was so angry and rude that I felt as though we should have just left but the sweet girl at the register assured us it was ok to order. One of the families behind us took their food and ate outside in 54 degrees. Food was mediocre at best, probably due to the cook and her attitude! Very, very sad how 1 person with a very bad attitude can ruin a restaurant quickly! read more

We absolutely love Bob's Dogs! We discovered it on our very first trip to Oak Island. We were there for a weekend, and ate there all three days. They have a great variety of hot dogs, with awesome buns! I like the OKI, but also the Caswell Beach dog which has bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, which sounds crazy but tastes fantastic!! We always grab chips and a drink too and the fresh squeezed lemonade is really yummy! If you don't like hot dogs, don't worry! They have amazing chicken salad and Brunswick stew too! I have never had bad service, very friendly and efficient. Parking is easy to find and it is definitely a hidden gem of a place in Oak Island! If you are in the mood for an island feel with some Jimmy Buffet tunes, then this is the place for you to kick back! Oh and if you go often they have hot dog punch cards! read more

Awesome place. The food is delicious - be sure to try the Island Dog, even though it may seem strange at first. Surprisingly, Bob's has waiters (even though it's such a small place) and they are very nice. Don't feel like you have to order exactly what's on the menu, my daughter ordered a hot dog with just ketchup and mustard and that's what she got. They also serve dessert, so you can get a full meal. Our kids are obsessed with hot dogs. Our first night here for vacation on Oak Island and we decided it would be easy. It's a hot dog, it wasn't that impressive but it was alright. The buns are great and so is the service but the toppings were lacking. I was very disappointed by the cheese dog in paradise, it was a hot dog with mediocre chili and very salty, unmelted shredded cheddar cheese. I was expecting a touch more from a hot dog with the word "paradise" in the name. The OKI dog was very good, as is anything Carolina Style. The servers were very sweet and even thanked us when we rang the "we liked our food" bell. I may not go back but it's definitely worth trying. read more
