Not a fancy place at all! Just a place to go and pickup great fried shrimp and other fish. Highly recommend. I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. I love the spicy Shimp sauce they serve with it. They also have regular shrimp sauce for those that don't like spicy. Short and Sweet from what we bought to Eat Fried shrimp -perfectly breaded and meaty shrimp -Not your typical heavy breaded full of grease shrimp -Size doesn't always matter, the girls at the counter we're sweet enough to show us that the day's medium shrimp(which are delivered fresh daily) were just as big as the jumbos -sauces were flavorful and that spicy sauce is the boss, just enough kick and the sauce is a hot sauce in itself (I would use this sauce on other things beside shrimp) Pasta Salad Side -pasta is not small nor cheap -cheese is there but just enough Flavor on point to make sure it doesn't steal the show from the shrimp Fried Clams were worth the try but that shrimp is where to keep yourself as it's all in the name of this place! read more

The seafood here was delicious for my tastes. Buyer beware though...their online menu prices are not what they charge at the restaurant. According to the employee I spoke to they haven't updated the prices in about 20 years.Fish chips does not mean fish and fries.Instead it means chips OF cod.Lesson learned. They only serve fries with the dinner. All the sauces i ordered were not with my order even though I agreed to pay 54 cents for each extra one. The reason I gave this 2 Stars instead of one is because I used to REALLY like this place. The food was good. BUT... I encountered an extremely rude employee [thin white male] on 2 separate occasions that turned me completely off. Because of this young man, I refuse to patronize this business anymore. My orders are usually called in. Periodically, I would walk in and order. The first situation was a walk in order. Apparently, he was a bit overwhelmed. It looks as if they were understaffed that day. He was cooking and working the register. Didn't wash his hands, just wiped them off. I watched him watch them off on his clothes, and a paper towel, during my time there. He got upset when I asked him to wash his hands, because he was handling money, before fixing my food. He got really pissed about that and went off. He had my money at this point already. I started fussing back at him telling him how unsanitary it is to handle money and food. He told me that I could get my stuff and leave if I didn't like what he was doing. So I did! My next encounter with him was when I placed an order from my job. I work not too far from Bob's, at a children's community center on Calumet Avenue. I won't name the company, but collectively how about we placed 10 orders. I told the person that answered the phone, that each order would be paid for separately. I did not want to be responsible for trying to figure out who gets what, in change. If it's paid for separately, you know exactly what everyone gets. The young lady on the phone was very cooperative. She told me exactly what each individual order cost. I wrote that information down, told my co-workers, gathered their money, and headed to Bob's. Upon arrival, at the register ready to pay, I gave the last name that was used to place the order. I was given one large total. I told her that she and I had spoken on the phone and I had the individual dollar amounts for her, not a total amount, because I wanted to make sure that everyone got their correct change. This guy, the same one from before, turns around from the fryer, and starts yelling at me about making things complicated for them. The food was ready and already bagged up, I just needed to pay. He continues on to tell me that he's not catering to me and WTF would I place an order so big during lunch time! I'm actually shocked at this point. He tells me to pay for my food in one lump sum and he's not going to breakdown the cost of each one for me, and nobody else! I'm trying to explain why I needed it broken down oh, and he didn't care. We eventually get into a shouting match and he dismissed me by asking the people in line behind me were they planning on ordering, and then he starts naming off what's in my bag. Told them that if so, she (the young lady at the register) would sell them my food! She's trying to get him to understand that it was okay and she didn't mind doing it that way oh, and he then begins yelling at her. She looked so hurt. I told her that it was okay I'll just go ahead and do it this way. After getting my food, I told him that I would never come back and spend my money in this place again! He told me "good... we don't need your damn money! We got a lotta customers... get the f**k outta here"! I asked to speak to the manager during the beginning of all of this, and he told me that he was the manager. I went back 2 days later to try to speak to someone about his behavior. The woman that I spoke to, who I normally encounter, is really nice, but she made excuses for his behavior instead of being upset. It was almost as if she knew and tolerated it, because maybe they were short-handed, or he was the boss's kid or something. Not sure what the situation was, but I know he was still employed there for a while afterwards. IDK if he still works there or not, now. My family has been a regular there for YEARS! After that situation, we refused to go back to patronize this business. My father would go periodically, but once they started raising their prices, he eventually stopped going. We switched over to the place on Kennedy Avenue called Manny's, which was really good. Not sure what happened, but they're out of business now. We now patronize Harbor Point Shrimp House, on Torrence Avenue in Burnham. Bob's will never get a dime from me ever again! read more
