I had the Peach Smoky Old Fashioned and a Caesar salad with crispy salmon. The cocktail was crafted with care, and I loved watching Morgan prepare the smoky Old Fashioned with such attention to detail. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and crispy, it was a great add on to my ceasar salad so delicious - kudos to the chef!! What stood out most was the hospitality. Morgan made me feel comfortable as I relaxed, read my book, and enjoyed my meal. She was personable, attentive, and created a welcoming atmosphere that even led to great conversations with other guests at the bar. Thank you, Morgan and Steph, for making my first time sitting at the bar such a memorable experience. I can't wait to come back!

I wouldn't order it again. My sister got the Tuscan chicken she said it was really good very filling. We will have leftover. And then my Uncle ordered the rice bowl. Strawberry margaritas they tasted like juice and the espresso martini was pretty decent. The only strong drink I had was the Prosecco. The ambience of this place is very nice however they have a fly and a flea problem. Last time I was at this establishment they were all inside of the building. They need to get that infestation checked out immediately because it's always a problem when I'm there. Our server was not the best she's the one who had a lot of piercings in her face. She was attentive only in the beginning until we got our food and then we never saw her again. Not the best service.

On a recent visit, however, both of our pasta's (Alfredo and Angel Hair Pasta w/ Veggies) were in need of salt or some type of seasoning. My husband's just needed salt but mine was totally bland and tasteless. I also learned that the Grilled Vegetables, a long time offering has been removed from the menu. This, combined with the fact that a long-time favorite (Smoked Salmon Pasta in a Lemon Cream Sauce) was removed years ago, has been most disappointing and the restaurant no longer is of much interest to me. On the plus side, there are still some good appetizers and entrees and the portions are very generous, a major plus since I was able to take my entree home, add some additional vegetables and cheese, and season it w/ a variety of fresh herbs. But, if you want some of the best authentic Italian food anywhere, try Guiseppe's in Schererville, IN.

We were there on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Had the pan fried goat cheese (always good), meals were all good. One of my new favorites "branzino" was prepared nicely, but I thought it was a little dry. Drinks were delicious, rum punch, special margarita, (yumm) still not crazy about the smaller martini glasses and higher price (too much). And my other pet peeve, those cheap___ napkins, for a fine dining restaurant, upgrade the napkins. Anyway, Not a bad appetizer and the best tiramisu anywhere ! We ordered the Black Bullet party pack which comes with two pounds of brisket and two large sides. We went with fries and beans, and also added ribs, mac and cheese, and buns to the order. The brisket is still the star of the show. The spice rub on it is perfect, and it's so tender that it's unreal. The fries are exactly the kind of battered fries I like which was a pleasant surprise because I feel like not many places do them that way. The beans were okay... a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but they had huge chunks of pork in them that I definitely appreciated. We also added two slabs of ribs, and they fell right off the bone. I'm usually not a huge ribs person, but these were well cooked and flavorful. Mom loved them, and that's what really matters. We did have a few small issues with the order. We realized that our mac and cheese was unfortunately missing when we got home. They also ran out of pretzel buns midway through packing things up, so we ended up with a mix of pretzel and brioche buns instead. Honestly, we didn't mind that one too much because it gave us a chance to try both (I'd pick pretzel if I were you). When we picked up the order the place was absolutely packed, so it was hard to be upset over an honest mistake. They were clearly incredibly busy. I still don't really care for the sweeter sauce that tastes heavily like peppers to me, but their vinegar-based sauce (which I think is their original?) was much better than I remember. I'm glad to see this place is still around and still holds up after all this time. More importantly, the brisket is every bit as good as I remembered.

On my second visit a year later, I decided to give it another shot--this time opting for the traditional version instead of the smoked one. It was better, but still only average at best. It was also served warm, and the ice melted quickly, suggesting the glass or drink wasn't properly chilled. The martini was also underwhelming--it tasted mostly like juice, with little to no noticeable alcohol. As for the food, the starters were definitely the highlight. The French onion soup was actually very good. However, the main courses didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well--overcooked and under-seasoned. The chicken Vesuvio was also disappointing; the sauce tasted like it came from a jar, and neither it nor the rice stood out in any meaningful way. On a positive note, the ambiance was very nice. The lighting created a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, while the setting and service were enjoyable, the food and drinks didn't justify a return visit.

I had the worst experience that I have ever had in a restaurant. First, I did not have a problem with the price because it was $60.00 per person and I paid for my daughter, son, and daughter-in-law, as well as myself. They were very unprofessional. One waitress came out and stated that we could order onions and mushrooms on our steak, but that would be an extra charge, if the bride state it was okay. I went to the bride, and they told her that it would be an extra $10.00, I gave her $15.00. So, at that point, they came out and took our orders and among the 4 of us we ordered a steak medium well with just a little charred on it. Well, I had to wait because the waitress came out and stated that they had charred it too much and they had to put me another one in. Now it is half an hour later and everybody in the place is complaining because now they are coming back stating that you can't order the onions or mushrooms that they have already given to the bride. Don't nobody want to go back and say give it back 1 /2 hour later, so we let her keep it. My steak came out burnt. Also, the waiter came around with water and one of the people at my table had gone out to the bar and purchased her a drink and he poured water in her glass that already had her drink that she paid for, and he told her that he would replace it. Then the manager whom I sent a picture of to the store came back and said she would get another drink, well she went back to the bar and purchased another and was waiting for the one that they were supposed to bring to her. So, I asked the manager if they could replace my steak and she threw her hands up in the air and stated that it is what you ordered and walked away. My daughter-in-law was so upset her husband had to make her be quiet because she was so mad at the lady who talked to me like that, and she travel all over the world and I have never seen her get upset like that. Everybody in the room complained about the services, we asked whether we could go out and order it from outside and still pay her and they kept telling us that we couldn't. I was so angry and I did not eat at all, and I only eat once a day and I had the worst service that I have ever had anywhere and we traveled all over the world. First, that Manager owes me an apology and I would like to meet with you concerning this, because it was so unprofessional, and maybe it was because of our race, I do not know, but at this point we all are saying I will never go back to Theo's. I feel that even if it costs extra, because not everybody eats steaks with onions or mushrooms on it, we still paid her $60.00 for their meal, that should have been able to order anything else. One lady just wanted a salad with any meat, just some lettuce, tomatoes, and croutons and they told her that they could not accommodate her with that. My god daughter that got married her son does not eat meat and she was able to just get him some noodles. I feel that even if we paid the $60.00 for the meal that we should still had been able to order something else, and not only that one waitress should not be able to tell you that you can order onions or mushroom on your steak and then the other one come back and say no. We did not care about the extra charge, and I feel we should have been able to order appetizers if we wanted them. A lot of us had not eaten all day, getting off the plane and going to the wedding and straight to your place and this is the service we received. I am not just complaining just about myself, but for my family, your staff need training on what they can or cannot do before entering that room and one person says one thing and the other one is saying something else. I have never been to any place where the manager did not try to rectify the situation or just remove that price off the bill. I sent a you the picture of the manager that was in charge I guess, but she was the one that threw her hands up in the air and said that is what you ordered. I order my steak chard everywhere and it has never been burnt, and they want me to except it, and I did not eat one thing on the plate. I just paid for something that I could not eat. Your place was very beautiful and that was my first time there, but that was a horrible experience, but when you went out of the room the bartenders and all the other people were so nice. I do not feel that the people that were working back there in the room can handle 50 people and one time ordering, but they should have been a little more accommodating. I know she had to pay $3,000.00 for just the people and a tip, but I don't feel that she got what she paid for. I tried to send this letter to the store,so that someone would contact me and they never did till this day.

I chose the…read morehighest tier catering package for $16 a person and ordered Chicken fajitas, carnitas, and tamales. The order was supposed to be ready at 11:40 AM and it wasn't ready until closer to 12 PM. When we unpackaged the contents, we realized that there were no tortillas included in the order. There was a small tray of Mexican rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, carnitas and the chicken fajitas. The chips came in a large ziplock bag with 1 quart of salsa. Order came with serving spoons, but did not include 25 plates OR 25 napkins and we were short. When I called the restaurant to inquire about the missing tortillas, I was transferred to a manager who did not believe us that we were shorted the tortillas. She put us on a brief hold and returned to the line to state that the staff packaging the order is "90% certain" they included the tortillas in one of the aluminum trays. She asked us a few times to check the cardboard box. We informed her multiple times that the box is empty and that there are no tortillas in this order. It is very hard to enjoy a fajita bar without tortillas. She then decided to inform us that if we wanted, we can come back to the restaurant to pick up "MORE" Tortillas. I explained again that we do not have ANY tortillas and picking up MORE tortillas at this point in the lunch was not worth it since the order was already late and people had already started eating. The part that bothered me the most is that there was no acknowledgement or apology for the missing item in the order and an unbelieving attitude as if I was lying. I told her that there is no reason for me to lie and say I am missing tortillas. There's no value in me trying to secretly get extra tortillas if there are not even enough proteins to supplement those tortillas. All in all, we paid $500 for this catering order and the amount of food that we received felt like closer to a $200 order. The trays for the rice, beans, and proteins were mini trays and I found it very hard to believe that they expected that to feed 25 people. Additionally 1 quart of salsa is NOT enough for such a large number of people. And if I'm paying for a catering order that is supposed to be 25 people why wouldn't you double check there's enough plates and napkins??? As for the taste of food, my colleagues remarked that the food lacked flavor and tasted very bland. The tamales were very stringy inside and not able to cut through the inside without using a knife. If we had had enough salsa, that may have helped. All in all we will NOT be ordering from El Salto ever again. If you want decent Mexican food for a large crowd, honestly QDOBA is better and cheaper.
