This is my first time at this establishment. I've heard good things but it was time for me to experience. I was with a big group and the food was already prepared for us so that wasn't a problem. OMG!! ZERO rating from me. This is THE WORST Restaurant establishment ever when it comes to customer service from management . On two separate occasions the owner's daughter was very rude and disrespectful. 1st time there was for after hour work drinks outdoors with the girls and questioned if the wine could be placed in a plastic cup verses a styrofoam cup (which is used for hot beverages). The manger's daughter instantly took offense. Had a nasty attitude, rude and disrespectful. She indicated that Matteson's ordinance only allows for styrofoam outdoors and she said she can care less about what other restaurants allow in other communities. Minutes later we saw customers with plastics cups. 2nd occasion there was with family and ordered burgers. The same manager had nasty attitude when asked for Mayo and onions. She said they charge extra for both. She said onions is already grounded in Turkey burger and would have to charge extra 1.25 to add raw onions. I had no problem paying for onions but when brought the nasty attitude with bucked eyes, it pretty killed my appetite and the great time I was having with family! I humbly ask you to please refrain from patronizing Bocce's in Matteson IL. My son Khristian and I were treated like shit, yelled at and threatened by the manager Tina because I questioned the bill. I was charged $5 extra for a salad that was supposed to come with the meal, rightfully so, I questioned the bill. This young lady Tina, begins to insult me, talking to me like a child, saying I should have read the menu etc. when the waitress never said anything about an up-charge for salad. My 16 year old son asked her to stop talking to his mother that way and she began to threaten him. I never once called her out her name, I did defend myself and my position, raising my voice but to have my 16 year old son and myself a 48 year old woman threatened by police for questioning a bill was uncalled for. That young lady (I had to refrain from calling her what she really is) has no customer service or management skills and they prey off of the dollar of African Americans. I've been here before, but never again. Food is very good and well priced. The problem is the awful service. Even when the place is not busy, the level of incompetence is startling. I waited an extraordinarily long time before I was asked if I was ready to order. When I asked for a manager to complain, she looked at me with no surprise and said... "It probably wasn't personal." I got he distinct feeling that Greg, the slowest server ever will not get additional training or tips on improving his service. If you value your time, avoid this place at alll cost. I love the food. The owners are always available to ask questions and any feedback about your service. The menu has a lot of variety and so far every item I have ordered is delicious. I pulled in to the parking lot of Bocce's with a friend of mine that drove up here from Texas. Upon getting out of the car my friend tossed a small cup in the snow and we began to walk to the door. While walking a small Caucasian woman gets out of her car and states "Guys u can't come in here tonight " I asked why. She stated as an owner i can't allow u to come inside after i just seen your friend throw a cup. My friend immediately apologized and offered to pick it up. At that point she adds i still can't allow yall in because I saw him drinking when he got out of the car. I feel extremely offended because for one she assumed it was alcohol in his cup and also we were not loud and stumbling thus creating any disturbance in the parking lot as to make her think we would be a problem inside. First time here and it was pretty decent. I wasn't too sure about where to go hang out and listen to some music and be social, since i've been such a coach potato lately, so I was glad to find this place. I was a bit alarmed by the weird sign on the door that insists all patrons have TWO forms of ID, I haven't been out in awhile, but I didn't think fake IDs were that serious of an issue, lol. I've been going to Bocce's for years. Even though the owners aren't the nicest people. I definitely feel they think they're above this community. Still....I've supported the business. Last night I go to order a drink that the waitress tells me is included in the "Happy Hour" specials. I find out they weren't! 2 small margaritas were 20 bucks plus 15% gratuity included that you can't dispute. My friend had 2 double shots of Hennessey (plus the 15% gratuity of course) for $63 dollars. Bocce's prices are ridiculous now and soooo not worth it. read more

I'd been here for various Birhday parties but if never been here to eat. After reading the reviews, I was really hesitant because I hate a place with poor service. To my surprise, I had a great experience. To start, my waitress, Precious, was very pleasant. They don't have "specialty" drinks but she offered to make me one that she created on the fly, a strawberry mango Ciroc martini. It was good and strong. For $14 it should have been though. I ordered he Cajun shrimp Caesar salad and Greek wings. The salad was good and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. However, it didn't have any cheese which was odd. It actually looked more like a garden salad with shrimp than Caesar. It was still good though. Now, the Greek wings were great! They were party wings and I was given about 13 even thought the menu said 10. Maybe I got extra because they were small. Whatever the case, the Greek seasoning was perfect on the wings! I liked it so much that I woke up googling Greek seasoning recipes so that I can make my own one day. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I enjoyed my meal and drinks and I had zero problems with service. The ONLY issue I had was he automatic gratuity included in my bill. This restaurant use to be a favorite, but isn't any more. I visited this restaurant with my family Saturday afternoon. We had one waitress name Felisha that definitely didn't understand her job, she couldn't work for any other restaurant. Felisha was extremely talkative to other clients, but failed to pay attention to other customers. She did not use her pad to write down our order, and of course she forgot an item! After my brother reminded her about his missing fries, she put the order in and never returned with the fries until much later. I was able to see the fries were ready, the cook had placed them on the service counter. She finally returned with the fries placing them on the table in a rude manner. This place adds gratuity regardless of the number guests. I was there a few weeks with friends, and individually we were charged gratuity! This place is a joke the food is ok, service is bad! Unfortunately, this place has gone down and service I am referring to the waitress Felisha is the worst! I understand there is another waitress there that really is attentive to the customers, however Felisha is a poor waitress! I live in the area and eat here all the time. It's a sports bar with great bar food. It doesn't try to be any more than that which is not a bad thing. So no, the bartenders aren't going to waste time juggling shakers and showing off their tricks and "flair." They're going to make the drink you ordered and serve really great food. I visited Bocce on Saturday March 20, 2010 and upon entering the bar I was eager to get in just looking at the beautiful ladies that were arriving! I have made it in and to the bar to buy drinks for the four people that came with me and didn't have a problem the first time . The bartender that assisted me( african american women) was very polite and well mannered. She looked as if she were very tired but still helping as many people as physically possible. I gave her mycredit card and she was prompt with returning my credit card to me. On my second visit to the bar there was another young lady (caucasian) that greeted me and ask my what i needed . I responded and she made my drinks promptly as the first bartender did. I gave her my credit card again and she returned it to me to sign the merchant copy as the first time , BUT when I returned the merchant copy to the young lady she held it up in the air and said "OH THANKS " " I SEE WHY YOU DON'T WANT TO WORK OVER HERE'' refering to the fact that I didn't tip her! I responded " relax im going to tip you all before the nite is over and that her attitude would not help her get a tip! After that ordeal I came back to the bar 1 last time and I made sure that I went back to my original waiter to order . Once again she was nice and I gave a tip as I originally planned. The rest of the night was good....no more problems. I didn't go to any other establishments after that night . Now it is Monday morning and I am receiving messages from my bank because of supposed fraudulant actvities?!!!! (By the way this was my first time to a bar in the south suburbs) Whomever it is went to the surrounding suburbs of matteson and went grocery shopping, buying parts for there car and McDonalds for a fancy breakfast... Great place and great owners! Owners actually interact with patrons. The food is above average for a bar and grill. You can order anything. Some items are not on the menu. I challenge you! Great state of the art jukebox and drinks are worth the price. You can meet anyone at this bar like celebrities, politicians and business people. This a great place to network. We asked for the special for Sunday night. We got the bill and noticed we were charged extra on each drink due to flavoring which the waitress did not tell us. We Expressed our concerns when the manager was brought over. He confirms that he trains his waitresses not to let you know when you are being charged extra because of previous customer reactions.... meaning he does not tell people how much it costs because their normal reaction is defensive as if they cannot afford it. Seems unethical to me when you should let people know what they are ordering is extra especially when we asking for the drink specials FIRST. There is a way to say everything . i wish i could give zero stars. the mixed drinks are awful. i went there last night just to get out. i'd ordered a long island ice tea, top shelf. well i received a drink and it definitely was not a long island, it was strong and made with cheap liquor. i'd also ordered a chicken caesar salad which took almost 30 minutes to get to my table. in addition, my waitress was very unattended. no silverware on my table, asked her several times. i had to get silverware from another table and i wanted another drink rather than that hot mess of long island i was served. she then tells me that i would have to pay for it. ok that was it. she never asked if my meal was ok or if i needed anything so that's why she got a .50 tip, yes .50 and i wrote on my receipt that i tip on service and your service sucked. i will not return. no wonder it was less than 15 people in the place. read more

Do not waste your timing going to Bocce's if you are in the mood for poor customer service and disrespect from the owner in resolving issues with mistakes from his staff..... .....I was invited to Bocce's to celebrate my aunts Birthday with my friends. A tab was open with our waitress to accommodate my purchases throughout the night. When it was time for us to leave, I had to find our waitress to retrieve my bill and she only gave me a receipt with the total. I then had to request a itemize bill because the bill appeared to be too high. After reviewing the bill, I notice there were charges for two drinks I didn't purchase. I pull the waitress aside to explain the mistake. She spoke with her manager in which I was told they would not resolve the issue because somebody has to pay for the drinks. I requested to speak with the owner and was disrespected with no resolution. I requested they call the police since I refuse to pay the bill. Officer did not attempt to resolve the issue, but to tell me that if I don't pay the bill he will proceed to take us to jail. Bocce's owner then refused to take any form of payment except for cash. If I could I would give this venue "no stars." First off, no your audience. My girlfriend and I went to this place to start off our Saturday at 4 pm. I couldnt make up my mind so I asked the waitress Felicia to give us a few seconds. She came came back and I decided to go ahead with the nachos w/o a few things and she made a very unpleasannt comment, "so you are feeling aribe taco bell today!" Ok, so whatever I continue to order dismissed the comment. Food came out and as I was eating I tasted onions (which I am allergic to). I politely called her over and when I explained to her what the issue was she stated, "you didn't tell me that." If I did or did not, your point is not to argue, take my plate away and fix my order. She then states I have to speak with my manager. For what exactly? I am allegic to onions. So, my food is taken away eventually, Felicia came back and stated to me what she had to tell the manager on why I wanted a new plate and I was talking to her she immediately started talking past me and stated "shut the f*** up THREE times. I had to look like was I being punked? Really, what did I do to endure this type of service? After 15 minutes or so my food came out, not once in between did the manager or server come over to see if I wanted anything else or to make us feel satisfied. Manager brought food over and neither did she apologize or refill my condiments since I did receive "NEW" food as well as the nachos looked like they were baked-nothing was fresh as far as the toppings. Lettuce and tomatoes were soggy and hot, chips very greasy. With in 2 minutes of me receiving my order the server comes over and asks are we ready to be closed out? WTH??? I just got my food and you're asking this? She stated that her shift is over. Ok great! Transfer my bill, we wanted to order a few more drinks. No, that did not happen our bill was closed and at that point we felt rushed. So we recieved the bill we presented our cards and the stated, "we got some ballers in the house, ya'll paying with cards!" (blank stare) By this time it is 6 pm, my friend is done with her meal I just got mine. Im still trying to attempt to eat this food not fit for a dog (which I didnt) to prep my stomach antime passing to see the server have not left. So what was the point of rushing us? By this time I was ready to go, packed up and left. I did ask to speak to the GM which her name is Tina B. I explained to her my experience and the comments our server made and she literally called me a liar in so many words. She gave me the rundown of why the server might act like this or said that. Tina as a manager should have not exploited her personal business, not my concern, not my problem. If she had all these issues then she should have stayed at home for a bit, do not take it out on the CUSTOMER. I used to enjoy this place, but tonight's experience was so foul I will never go back. I went with a friend for dinner and the food was okay. Since it was just the two of us, I never thought the server would automatically add a gratuity to our bill. I caught it afterwords and let the server know I was charged a 15% tip along with the 18% I wrote in for her. The server apologized, but I felt that management should be aware moving forward. So I talk with the female manager and express my concerns. First she says a gratuity is automatically added for parties of 4 (it's two of us standing there); then she says the POS system may have user error (not buying that one either). She did not apologize to me, so I let her know what I suspected: The server didn't expect African-Americans to tip so she automatically added the gratuity. Still the manager did not apologize - instead she tells me she is sick of black/white issues and grabs my receipts. I ask her to let go and we are having a tug of war over the check! I can't believe this actually happened!! Then she tells me to never come back. Really? She was late on that request; I was done when I saw the double gratuity! Instead of simply apologizing and addressing the issue with staff, she would rather lose a paying customer versus apologize? I can understand if she felt uncomfortable, but if we don't openly talk about our issue, how will we grow and overcome them? So done with this place!!
