We were in town for a convention, and it was time for some dinner. All of the places downtown Waynesville were chock-a-block full with tourists in town for the leaves changing and other festivals, so my mom and I went looking for the local places, the places that are below the radar for the usual tourist. We found one of those places with Waynesville Pizza Company. Located down a hill off the beaten path, it is quite non-descript from the road. We figured it was perfect for us. Entering, we could smell the good smells of pizza done right, and the general hum of the place told us that it was a happy place. We went for a large pizza, good toppings on it, and it took about twenty minutes to get together. No need for extra appetizers or anything else... a large pizza was more than enough for the two of us, and we took half of it back to our hotel room for the next day (pizza for breakfast is a glorious thing!) If we get back to this area, Waynesville Pizza Company is definitely on our list to return to for a meal. read more

We were VERY disappointed with our last meal from Waynesville Pizza. To clarify: The restaurant is still immaculately clean. The staff are still absolutely wonderful. Our issue was solely with the food. We ordered a "build your own" 14" pizza (sausage and mushroom). The crust was wafer thin and flavorless (we did not order a thin crust pie, it just came out that way). The cheese tasted almost artificial. The sausage was scarce. The sauce was flavorless. To add insult to injury, the cost of this pizza was $24. Maybe it was an off night but the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time we came for dinner. I don't know if they are cutting food costs but whatever the case, I do hope they will get back on track. It will be a while before we go back. read more

We stopped in on a Sunday evening and we had a supreme pizza. We were pleasantly surprised by the pizza and service was excellent. The pizza arrived in a timely manner and was hot. Our tea was refilled without asking and we were pleased overall with the atmosphere. This might be our new favorite pizza place in town. read more

Oh my Pizza Pie! We drive over from Knoxville regularly to enjoy the delicious fresh ingredients in their pizza. Love doing half Farmers Garden &half Supreme - LOVE in every hot gooey bite. Just the right amount is sauce so you can taste the toppings. Staff is friendly and we even recognize some of the locals that are regulars. The staff goes above and beyond, they are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. We were seated quickly, and provided menus and drinks. Our server Lily took our orders and delivered our food. The food temperature was perfect. We had 3 pizzas, a wrap, and a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. All were excellent. The ambiance is low key, and fun. The manager advised that the dough and toppings are prepared daily. It is easy to see that the manager is proud of the restaurant. We have ordered Pizza to go several times here and each time the flavor is great, always hot and always ready when we are told! The staff we have met at the counter are super friendly and always taking care of aspect of an order or keeping the counter clean and ready for business! We almost went to Pizza Hut but then my wife found this restaurant online and we went here instead. We are glad we did! The staff was attentive and courteous. The restaurant was clean. The food was good. After a long day at the Cataloochee ski slopes, we all wanted some tasty food, and that's exactly what we got. My wife got a nice-looking chef salad with ranch dressing. Im not sure if the ranch was house made, but it really had good flavor. My kids and I ordered small pizzas: one with bacon, one with Italian sausage, and one with pineapple. They were great! Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. There's also a good beer selection that includes several options from local North Carolina brewers. So I didn't realize I have not reviewed this place yet. I've been coming here for years whenever I'm in town. This was once Nick and Nates and is now WPC. I've had several different pizzas here and tend to favor the meat pizzas. However at this location the Nanthahala Pizza is a must try. I have always had good service when I eat here and the food has always been delicious. On my latest visit I had to get take out due to the latest circumstances with all restaurants. I ordered the Barnyard pizza which is a meaty pizza and got an order of cheese sticks as well. I tried calling ahead but was unable to get through. I decided to walk in and order. I was informed and saw first hand that the phone was ringing nonstop. I was also one of many who just walked in and ordered due to this. This to me is a good sign as a lot of people would just call somewhere else when they couldn't get through on the phone. The staff I dealt with were all very friendly and easy to deal with. My food came out quickly but my pizza had been rung up wrong and I in turn got the wrong pizza. It was an honest mistake as the pizza I was given was The Farmhouse (similar name to the Barnyard) which is a veggie pizza which is not up my alley. This mistake was quickly rectified and my new order was ready pretty fast and I was given extra cheese sticks for the inconvenience. All my food was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. Overall all of my experiences here have been great and I will return on my next trip up to the mountains. read more

Do you like creamy tasting cheese and a hand tossed pizza? This is a good place to get some yummy goodness. I got the equivalent of a supreme. Sauce is what makes a pizza for me. This has good sauce. Not great. I prefer crispy New York style crust. This is a hand tossed. I can't fault them for this. They clearly advertise a hand tossed pizza and they did a fine job with that. The beef was good. Omg! Absolutely fantastic pizza! We ordered to go pizza while staying on vacation. I'm originally from NY so I know good pizza. This was great! We ordered a medium bbq for the two of us. It was just enough when paired with a salad. While it is a little misleading for a bbq pizza it was hand made fresh dough which tasted great when you got to the crust. Fresh ingredients and high quality toppings! As far as bbq pizza. It's a stretch. Typical bbq pizza is a bbq sauce as the sauce or it's drizzled on top. This had no bbq sauce but instead it was similar to a white pizza with bbq cooked chicken on top. Again a little different than we expected but absolutely amazing. read more

I like Waynesville Pizza. However, we chose to sit indoors and noticed not only was the Manager NOT wearing a mask, the cooks were NOT wearing a mask either. Are people too cavalier with COVID? After several visits to WPC, I've decided it's time to review it. Let's begin with the pros. The food is pretty good. Nice sandwich selection, apps, and pizza variety. Also, the beer selection is decent and, for the most part, local. The cons: The service is horrendous. With one exception, an average meal time for two people is at least an hour, and half of that is spent waiting to be seated, waiting to order, and waiting for the check. Seriously, I have waited up to 20 minutes for the check here. This most recent visit (which prompted this review), we we're looked at, and passed by five times without being seated. Ultimately, we left. All of these poor experiences have involved the same staff member, a girl with curly blond hair and dark thick rimmed glasses. This staff member is consistently slow and tries to make "chit chatty" conversations instead of doing her job. The prices for the pizza are a bit steep too. The pizza is good, but I'm not sure as good as the price would lead you to assume. All in all, this rebranded Nick and Nate's is disappointing because of the awful service, primarily the service of one employee. I'm sure the kitchen staff works hard and I have seen productive wait staff, but with all of the experiences I've had here, I cannot give this restaurant a higher score. read more

We love Waynesville Pizza Company. It's casual fun and delicious. This was one of the first places we came back to after restaurants re-opened. I brought our work team here soon after and they did a great job with our large group of 13. I really like the pizza crust here and the variety on the menu! It's nice to have an outdoor dining option too with occasional live music. read more

Always a solid choice with pizza. I especially enjoy The Nantahala and have for years. If you get a sandwich (and they have a lot to choose from) I suggest staying with the chips as a side. They're house made, thick and crunchy. Really delicious. read more

I also think I could have gotten food poisoning from here but gave them another try and haven't any any more problems. Good sandwiches, the Rueben was spot on and very tasty. The Club sandwich is excellent and a nice sized sandwich when you are hungry! Of the numerous pizza places in such a small area, it's the best. I think it was actually voted best pizza in Haywood County. It's down in a crater of a hole just a couple minutes from Main Street so you'll need to Google it for directions. Worth it. read more
