I stopped and ordered 2 pounds of pulled pork tonight, but got all the way home and had sliced turkey. I called to let them know a mistake was made and the man said he could give me the pulled pork if I brought the turkey back. I explained that my husband was still in town and could pick it up, but he would not come all the way home to bring turkey back. The manager said they could only exchange the meat because the turkey was for another customer. So I can only assume that they would sell this meat to someone else, after it has been in my home, I've obviously opened the container, with all the health issues going around right now. That's disgusting. I know that mistakes are made but it's the business that should make it right. read more

Came all the way from Los Angeles. This place is the real bbq deal! Everything is smoked in-house. We had ribs, chicken, and turkey. This rustic quintessential texan bbq house is very dive-ish. It's all wood paneling throughout the whole place. It's quite a place to see. They offer a cafeteria-like ordering process. They offer chopped brisket, brisket (pretty much the same as chopped) and pork. As for sides, they offer corn, baked beans, mac and cheese, etc. We ordered their brisket. They brisket fell apart it was a bit disappointing. The meat itself wasn't good or bad. It was slightly smokey and did need some seasoning. It was quite bland. The bbq was it's savior. The bbq sauce here is on the sweet side. Seemed like the quality of the meat as well wasn't too great. Overall, a great value. Nothing awesome. Had better. I was in town for a business meeting and was looking for some good BBQ. This place had good reviews and the hotel recommended them. I will say the brisket and links both had good flavor but the brisket was dry. I would normally think that was due to arriving at the end of service when everything has been sitting for a while. In this case we arrived 10 minutes after they opened so maybe it was just a bad batch. When I'm back in the area I may give them another try. I live in California and dined here while on vacation. It was recommended to me by a shuttle driver for the Sheraton. Wow, am I glad I listened! After a morning of touring the Rangers & Cowboys stadiums, I was hot, tired, hungry, and thirsty. I immediately felt welcome in the down-home, comfortable setting, with the walls adorned by antique signs and a state outline filled with license plates. I was greeted warmly and ordered a pulled pork sandwich, along with a Cherry Coke, chips, and a corn on the cob. I felt like I landed in food heaven--the meat was tender and delicious, the bun a perfect compliment, the sauce was AMAZING, sweet and tangy and fresh. I had a coupon so added on a Sloppy Joe sandwich and loved that as well. And just to make sure my state of euphoria was not induced by the fact I had been especially weary and dehydrated, I went back a couple of days later for the last Texas meal before departure. The same employees were present and welcomed me back. I had the same meal. And it was, once again, absolutely delicious. The lunches were around $10, a fine value for the quality and portion. The employees were genuinely kind and helpful and more than happy to share information about the establishment and the decor. They had recently changed the hours from the one listed by CJ H. I believe its 11-7 Tue thru Sat but don't quote me on that. They sell their delectable sauce by the jar and jug. I brought back a jar at the right price of $4, to share with family. The sauce was so good I was literally scooping up every last drop with my finger. The condiments (including the sauce) are available at the counter, where you can also watch them prepare your food. These folks know how to smoke some meat! I'm passing through Arlington to see the stadium where the SF Giants took it ALL and decided to check out the local cuisine. I am really leery about bbq joints because so often my heart is broken after soaring in on high hopes that come crashing down at the first bite. Undaunted and determined to overcome this fear, I decided to check it out. After reading the reviews I stepped inside...well, back in history to this rustic diner style joint with several tables covered with what I am sure are my grandma's vinyl table clothes. This walk up - cafeteria style restaurant let's you know they are serious up front...don't be on your cell phone while you are waiting in line. We like to check out all varieties of smoked meat so we had the 3-way combo with chopped beef brisket, pulled pork and hot links and a rib sandwich. So, no disrespect to the brisket lovers but DAYUM those ribs ROCK! The ribs are tender and well seasoned but once you dip the rib in the barbecue sauce the magic begins. This sauce is incredible, not too sweet and just the right blend of spices. The chicken was a bit dry but I must admit once you douse it in that sauce you kind of get over it. Now, don't get me wrong - all the meat was good but the ribs took the cake...or shall I say, the banana puddin' which was also really good:-) Honorable mentions: cold slaw and the beans (once you put some of that sauce in them). Although I said I wouldn't keep going back to restaurants on the road, I couldn't help it...I found myself there again at about 45 minutes before closing time just in case a late night hunger pang hit me...I got the ribs. The folks are friendly and the food is great. I think I might just make by there again before I hit the road. The are open until 7 on some nights (forgot which ones) but I can vouch for Wednesdays. read more

By far, worst customer service! We got to the restaurant at 6:55 and the restaurant closes at 8. As soon as we walked in they were rushing us to order, even though we had never been there and were looking at the menu and they also stated that they were running out of food(even though there was ample amounts for four of us to eat). After being rushed to place our orders we were rushed to leave the restaurant. We sat down to eat at 7/7:05 and at about 7:20 were the only ones left in the restaurant and they shut off all the light beside the one above our table. One of the girls with us went to go ask for to-go boxes and 3 minutes later a waitress comes to our table and says "y'all want to-go boxes cause we are closing?" I stated "we already got to-go boxes" and "don't y'all close at 8?" She then states we were supposed to close at 6 for a "rodeo" but we were just so busy, we stayed open. We were out of the restaurant by 7:28. And they close at 8. The food wasn't even that great. Wont go there again. If the food was just alright but customer services was great, it would be fine. But when food and customer service is bad, throw the whole restaurant away. read more

I love to try out BBQ joints, so after reading some really good reviews, I was excited to try this place. Bodacious offers some awesome Texas BBQ at a good price with wicked good service. When the wifey and I stopped in about 6pm on a Thursday night it was pretty slow, I guess they probably do some good lunch business considering the area. The ladies behind the cafeteria style line were very friendly and helpful. They explained all about the menu and how it worked, very nice indeed. The line itself was logically laid out and it was neat to kind of serve yourself for the sides and drinks The food itself was pretty darn amazing. Some of the best pork ribs I've had, with a kind of spicy/sweet rub on them. The brisket was incredibly tender and moist for lean cut brisket. Excellent brisket. Bodacious might possibly have some of the best BBQ sauce I've tried. It was served warm and was slightly tangy, but with a great balance of flavor. The beans and the potato salad were classic Texas BBQ and were as good as expected. Overall, it was excellent BBQ. Although I was very very full after clearing my plate, I did wish for the meat portions to be a little bigger. For what we got, It was reasonably priced, but I feel there could have been some more meat on the plate. Still, at $26 for two combo plates and two teas, and for being as tasty and filling as the entire meal was, it was a good deal. read more
