Service was Great!!! Everyone who served us were very nice and accommodating. Inside was clean and comfortable with plenty of seating. The BBQ was Mid for me. I had the pork ribs and the smoked flavor was really lacking for me. Coleslaw a bit dry and under seasoned and the greens were flat and could use some help. We have been eating at this restaurant since the late 80's and have always enjoyed it. However, last week the experience was less than adequate. The cashier who was standing in front of the register totally ignored us and was watching the cook slice meat. Not once did she acknowledge our presence, until my husband asked if there was a problem. She immediately responded by saying, "I can take your order." Just got takeout from Colter's through UberEats. We got 1/2 lb sausage, a half chicken and 1/2 lb of brisket for around $45. This was our first time trying this place. It's always a risk but this time it really didn't pay off. Everything is completely flavorless. The brisket is grey and dry, the sausage is literally like an Oscar Meyer hot dog, the chicken is dry and again, zero flavor. The "bbq" sauce is just straight up vinegar. This is the worst bbq I've ever had. The fact they call this bbq is a disgrace. It's inedible it's so bad. I won't even feed this to my dogs. read more

My family would go to Colter's once a week when they were all over Addison, Plano, Garland, and Dallas North Tollway, We have now gone 25 minutes to the Colter's on Camp Wisdom six weeks in a row. The spare ribs are the best. A full rib and not a rib that has been over trimmed. Great sauce and my goodness the onion rings are the best. it is worth the drive from far north Dallas. That definitely held true here, I wouldn't call the brisket tough, but you need to use your knife to cut it. Potato was ok, beans were acceptable. Very interesting establishment. Screams country bbq. You order and then go through the line cafeteria style to get your sides, dessert, and drinks. We had poboy and two meat plate, could choose meats on both. The pulled pork and brisket were good. The sausage is odd, like the cheap stuff. Potato salad good, but beans are ranch style - not my favorite. Condiment bar in the middle of the restaurant has pickles, onions, jalapeños, bread and sauces. Strange place. Fantastic. That's how I would describe our large selection of barbecue, sides, dessert, beverages that was provided for our large family celebration. Colter catering service was top notch. Everything arrived hot and delicious that was supposed to be hot. The cold items such as tossed salad and dressing, potatoe salad were properly chilled, delicious too. No meal is complete without a dessert and Colter's provided one of the best hot peach cobbler our group had tasted. When ordering a Christmas ham, I'm used to knowing the price ahead of time. This year they decided to not give us a price until they weigh everything. Fair enough. But you would figure that everything would be weighed beforehand to speed things up. Or at least tell us how much they charge per pound. Or tell us how much the hams weigh. Nope. We arrived and the manager seemed to have an attitude when we arrived to get the ham. My mom was greatly surprised that a 7 pound ham, dressing and baked beans would be $70. I called the location on Camp Wisdom Road and the guy I spoke to was very rude and not helpful at all, felt like he was put out as soon as he answered the phone, but I tried to continue talking ignoring his rudeness, I called to get a price on a Family Meal's for a certain amount of people, I was asking how many Meals I should purchase....but the conversation went no where...he continue to be rude so I finally just told him to forget it that I will just take my business somewhere else since he is being rude and disrespectful. I suppose I should disclose that I am not all that familiar with Texas style BBQ, so I can't really compare this to anything. However, I do have tastebuds and I do like food. After having tried this place I was surprised that it had such low ratings. The food to me was delicious! The sides were a mixed bag, some good, some okay, others not so good. The baked beans were good, not the best I've had, but still good. The peach cobbler was okay, the peach to biscuit ratio was a bit off, it was a bit doughy for my taste. The mac and cheese, well, let's just say I've made better mac and cheese and home. Great bbq. Great selection of a variety of meats. They cut and prepare it right in front of you. I've enjoyed delicious ribs and great brisket, sliced or chopped. Went in to the restaurant located in the Red Bird area on 3/17/2020 what a big mistake!! I spent 25.00 on ribs brisket and chicken, the chicken and brisket were super dry and looked old, we ate the 2 ribs and the small potato salad the other meat was a waste. Since we were headed out of town we couldn't return it. I made a call to the restaurant to speak with the manager and he told me that I could return the uneaten meat, I asked him if he wanted me to save it until next week!! He said that was the only way to refund for the meal, he automatically assumed that I wanted a refund, I just wanted to inform him of the problem. There is no place I'd rather get BBQ then at the Colters on Westmoreland and Camp Wisdom. A big plus for us, is that they have a drive thru! Also, the portion sizes are ample, but if you are like me, and can only eat a limited amount of meat, order the blue plate and still have plenty!
