Good solid old school Que. Brisket flat little dry but sauce brings it up. The one thing that Longorias has been head and shoulders above 90% of other DFW BBQ joints is their BRISKET sausage. It is and has always been scrumptious. I've had barbecues at home. I'll cook a couple of briskets or pork butts, 5 slabs of ribs, and pickup few pounds of Longorias brisket sausage. Everyone asks about it. Many guests say they don't like smoked sausage but this is delicious. Others meats and sides are good dependable offerings. Prices are much more family friendly than the designer/destination places hyped by Texas Monthly and others that often fail to live up to their reputations and exorbitant prices. read more

This is ranked on my top 10 worst bbq in DFW. It's pretty bad that ive never even heard of this place so I was in the area and I was told that it's bad because there's another bbq joint just down the street. But I wanted to try it out and it was barely 3pm and I knew it was going to be bad the minute I walked up and there were a few cars and no bbq smell not even the smoke but I walked in and employees were looking at me crazy. I asked if they were open and sure enough they were but it was so dead and empty. It was so dead they asked if I wanted the lights on in the lobby. Long story short the food sucked but for $20 you get allot of food and I've been to a few places that were expensive but for $20 you get allot of food it just wasnt good. Brisket was old and dry. It lacked flavor and texture and it was bad. Brisket sausage That was actually good and the only thing worth eating. Sides Macaroni salad wasn't for me I I would say that's something that wouldn't go well with bbq but that's my opinion. The inside of the building was just sad and old. And very dirty it doesn't look like it's been clean in years. Walls were yellow and and sticky and it was very humid and stale. They were selling a beat up scuffed up ice maker for $375 when they go for $400 brand new. Sad part was just to show how bad the food was a guy came in bought a plate calmly walked back up to the front put his plate at the register and walked out. He had the brisket too but ate a few pieces and left the rest of the food at the front and gave a yucky face and walked out. Now that's worst then my review you can't go any lower than that. I find it strange that this place is unclaimed by the owner but there's info and pictures from the owner. I guess I missed out on the good times because it looked like they were booming back in 2016. It's a damn shame they let it go down because it sucked and the brisket was insulting to be served old hard brisket. Longorias is maybe one of the best kept secrets in the Fort Worth area...except they're not really a secret. Anyone who has been there knows they have AMAZING bbq! This visit I learned that not only do they have amazing brisket and chopped beef sandwiches, they have brisket chili! The brisket chili is maybe one of the best things I have ever eaten. I could seriously eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We also had their chocolate cola cake and all I have to say about it is YUM!! Great choices of sides. Super friendly and helpful staff too. Longoria's was good...was is the key word. I got a pound of chopped beef that in the past was ground and fat free, now I get a pound of chopped that is full of fat, tasteless, hand chopped, and seriously it is so tough I cannot chew it. No BBQ sauce came with my order and it was not mixed in. The Chile had balls of fat (this just makes me instantly sick to my stomach) the Cole slaw has changed and the green beans are fresh out of a can...no extra seasoning. No bacon, on onions, no salt or seasoning of any kind. The sausage is the only thing that appears unchanged. I am never going back...when I called they informed me I needed to ask for the chopped beef with no fat...really I need to ask. I have been craving their brisket sausages for years but I live in CA so I have not been able to travel to Ft. Worth for work until after COVID hit last March. I have driven to Longorias each time I was in town and found that I missed their business hours. I finally allotted 1/2 day so that I am not working in order to drive out to grab a quick meal before flying out at DFW. Boy, Longorias BBQ did not disappoint at all. I ordered a 2-meat platter of sliced beef brisket and beef brisket sausage, potato salad, and cole slaw. I even ordered a jalapeño brisket popper do I may taste it. The sliced brisket were juicy and tender (not fatty). The sliced brisket sausage were tasty, tender, and have just the right amount of smoke flavor. The ground brisket jalapeño popper was hearty with a cheese filled jalapeño in the center which made it oh-so-tasty. i could taste the excellent quality meat (not fatty and not grisly) used for the ground brisket. The potato salad and cole slaw were creamy and full of flavor. I could not finish all the food I ordered, so the owner David was so nice to offer to put my leftovers in a zipper bag so that I may put the food in my carryon without leaking. I was also able to order an extra pound of brisket sausages to freeze so I may slowly savor them when I am back home. I am beyond impressed that the taste and the quality of food remained just as amazing as 20 years ago when I first tasted Longorias BBQ. It was totally worth me taking 1/2 day off from work to drive out so that i may eat at Longorias BBQ. I am definitely coming back again next time I am back in Ft. Worth for work. Meanwhile, I will be slowly savoring and pacing myself on my small supply of ground brisket sausages. Thank you David for your hospitality during my visit. Family owned with attentive staff. Food was delicious. Had the combo with smoked Bologna and brisket sausage. Both we're great but brisket sausage was new to me and I've got a new favorite. The pip squeak and I are hanging with a sweet girlfriend at her and her husband's palatial pad on the outskirts of Fort Worth. It's in one of those neighborhoods where your dog is barking like madness in the middle of the night, and you look out to see a big A cow with horns like the evil fairy's in Sleeping Beauty in your yard. I guess that beats seeing some fool with a knife in your backyard in LA, but not by much if it suddenly starts charging in your direction. He's just mad because he's likely to end up here, at Longoria's. Well...I guess I can't exactly say "here" since I didn't actually go there, but my friend says it's a hole in the wall, and that all of their effort must go into their food. Oh yeaaaaaaaah. After I awoke from my nap - did I say I was on vacation? - she greeted me with these styrofoam containers of steamy, smoky, sweet goodness that was unmatched by anything I have had in LA. (Sorry, Phillips). Tender, falling off the bone, perfectly seasoned chicken and meaty pork ribs (slow cooked over oak wood), beef brisket sausage (unique and very good!), two kinds of BBQ beans, and was that candy or was that corn? I don't even like cole slaw, but this pale sweet, slightly mustard-y side dish was to die for. I could eat a bowl of it. I came across Longoria's during my many trips to Madea's. It's simple and divey. There are about 3 or 4 tables in there and the booths are small. I got our food to go. I We ordered ribs and brisket. The ribs were tough, but had nice flavor. The brisket was dry, but also nice flavor. The bbq sauce was very watery with a funny taste. We got salad, green beans, potato salad, and slaw. My favorite part of my meal? The salad. For $15 a pound for brisket, I expected better. Maybe just I'm spoiled after eating Lockhart's in the BAD. In my opinion they have the best. On this occasion, I ordered, by way of e-mail, one pound of their smoked beef jerky and three pounds of the smoked brisket sausage. So after finding this place on yelp and since I am always on the lookout for new places to try, I decided to round up my friends on a nice Saturday afternoon and test Longoria's out. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by the friendly staff who inquired if this was our first time to go there or not. After a resounding "yes" we were then offered samples of their trademark brisket sausage, which was delicious and unique. Considering that there are just so many good BBQ places to try in the metroplex, I went ahead and ordered the three meat combo in an effort to try all my favorite smoked meats in one fell swoop: ribs, brisket, and sausage. The ribs they serve are spare ribs and can best be described as "sticky," in definitely a good way. They are covered in a subtle sweet rub, further supported by the subtle smoke flavor that resides in the ribs (and all their other meats as well). The ribs in my mind were cooked perfectly, didn't immediately fall off the bone but also didn't require any work to get the meat off the bone either. Longoria's brisket does not have much of a rub to it, so you are just left with the smoky flavor of the meat. I will echo other posts here in that, while the brisket may look dry, it is actually tender once bitten into. Overall solid brisket. The brisket sausage definitely met expectations. The most lingering aspect of it is the texture of it that only comes with homemade sausage. Quite good and they definitely get extra points for being different and unique. I always measure BBQ restaurants really by their sausage, not necessarily how good it is, but by what type it might be. I do this as I have seen, more often than not, it gives you an idea on how much they truly care about the food they serve. Too many places I have been to serve just the run-of-the-mill eckrich farm-type sausage, ergo such establishments are just out there to make a quick buck in reality with little care for quality or differentiation. But not Longoria's! Their sauce is also quite interesting. It has a light brown hue to it and starts out very sweet, but finishes with some tanginess to it. I found it to my liking, but as most denizens of this state, I prefer my sauce on the side as well. The group consensus was an overwhelming approval and we all agreed to go back again. I would rank their meats in this order: sausage, ribs, brisket. Next time I think I will go with the 2 meat combo to try more of their ribs (and sausage, naturally)! We were also happy to find that Longoria's is just one exit off the highway away from Alpine, so we plan to make it a regular stop after a day of shooting sporting clays. read more

First off, when you ask for fatty brisket and you get a weird look in return, you know it is going to be rough. Stop one of my groups mini BBQ tour on a Saturday was here at Longoria's. Famous for their meats in general, but in particular, their house made brisket sausage. Since we're all about the meat, we ordered some plates of it and dug in, no sides needed. Brisket sausage: Outstanding flavor, texture and moisture. This was some of the best sausage I've had in the DFW area. It featured a coarse grind, snappy casing and a wonderful, deep beef flavor. Very good stuff. Brisket (sliced): More than a little dry, it needed some sauce to help it out. The smoke was good, but the texture was a little too chewy. Ribs: Great texture, not too tough, not "falling off the bone", they were just right. Unfortunately, they were a little dry as well. The crust was a bit too sweet for my tastes, but at leas they had a fairly well defined crust (far from a guarantee these days). Overall, I'd give this place another try, if for no other reason than to get some more of that sausage. This meat saved the day for us. read more

I'll lead with the pros: the charming aspects of this place are many! First off, it's located off the side of a back country road, and the owner greeted us with a hello from the porch before we even stepped out of the car. It looks like a country farm house from the outside, and inside it looks like it hasnt changed since the 1950s. On friendliness, this place is five stars. Everyone from the owner to the servers were so sweet! Buuut, 2 out of the 3 meats that I had were mediocre, at most. The one standout of the show was the brisket sausage, which was quite fantastic. It tasted like crumbly, salted brisket, with a flavorful sausage skin. Very tender, juicy, and meaty. The barbeque sauce was a little runny, with an overwhelming tang, so it wasn't my favorite. The owner chatted with us and owned up to how the pigs were not healthy this year, because this year's pigs were underfed...or something. He's right...the ribs were tough and super lean and dry. Not very good. The brisket was definitely on the dry and tasteless side as well. The majority of their bbq was underwhelming. The potato salad and the mayo based coleslaw were above average in tastiness. Being that it's so far out of the way from everything, I'm not sure I would come back just for the brisket sausage. We were greeted with a warm hello and a sample of the beef (brisket) sausage. All orders are served with pickle slices, onions and 3 slices of plain white bread. The point was excellent. Perfect fat, bark and a nice smoke ring. The flat was a bit dry but still had a good texture. Ribs (Spare Ribs from the long end): Had a bite/texture I liked but others may not care for. Minimal bark but a nice spice rub and smoke ring. I think if I had gotten a short end portion of ribs they would have been perfect. Next time. Sausage (beef): The sausage is made of brisket and it's PHENOMENAL. If you are a fanatic about mac and cheese please know that theirs come cold. It's like a potato salad version and just tasted ok. I liked the beans and ribs but was disappointed by the sausage. This place hit the spot! My sister and I travelled from Cali to Mississipi and this place was our first stop. The food was great and David was very hospitable. As a firstimers, he gave us couple sample bites and we ended up ordering a 3 plate combo. Sliced brisket, Rib and Chicken quarter with a side or tossed salad and Macaroni salad. The meat was so tender that it was falling off the bones. I could also tell that the veggies were made fresh. It was a sunny day when we came so we decided to dine at their picnic tables outside. While we were enjoying our great lunch, David came out to us and shared a little story about Longoria's. We found that quite entertaining and interesting. I'm not sure how these kinds of places get discovered, but man am I glad I found out about Longoria's. It's in a little cabin off in the middle of nowhere in the DFW area. I mean, who's even heard of Everman, TX? Anywho, if you find yourself in this area of Fort Worth, this is definitely one to check out if you are cravin' some carcinogenic protein (i.e. smoked meat). The sausage has been highly recommended by even the well-acclaimed Texas Monthly BBQ judges. It doesn't disappoint, though it's not very sausag-y. It's more like a really flavorful ground beef in tube shape. Not crumbly or fine, it's sort of it's own style... but it's smoky, beefy, and peppery; all fine qualities that you desire in sausage. Other than that, extremely tender chicken, smoky brisket, and meaty ribs are some good offerings. Not the most juicy or tender of meats around, but definitely something to munch on as you indulge in their famous house-made sausages. Do skip the sauce, though. Somewhat sweet and runny, it's nothing to write home about. Longoria's is somewhere you wouldn't exactly HAVE to go out of your way to have, but if it's near you, it's a mighty fine option to have. After eating at our favorite soul food café, Madea's, we were on our way home when about 3 blocks down the road was this neat looking little red barn of a place named Longoria's. I had heard about their beef sausage so we whipped in and grabbed a couple of pounds of it to go. They served it up with all the fixins: BBQ sauce, onion, peppers, pickles and some white bread. We took it home but before we could put it in the fridge we HAD to taste it -- after all, the smell had been tormenting us all the way home. Day-um was it good! We had it for supper that night, then a couple of days later had leftovers along with some German Apple and Red Cabbage and Spaetzle and it held up perfectly to that treatment as well as it did the regular old BBQ sauce with potato salad and beans. I have been here several times and each has been a great experience. Of course I initially tried the brisket sausage and it is fantastic. The brisket is really good, very tender and the right amount of juice. On my next several visits, I tried the chopped beef sandwich (the best I have had), the burger (amazing) and ribs (not the best I have had, but right up there). The sides are good and generous. We checked out Longoria's yesterday, while doing our homework on following up with the Texas Monthly top 50 list. We got there at the end of the day, but were greeted with very friendly and accommodating staff. We were immediately offered a sample of their brisket sausage - which was unique and delicious! We got a 1/2 lb of brisket, 1 lb of ribs, and 3 links of brisket sausage - and for a change of pace, a small Frito Pie. The Frito Pie comes with a choice of pinto beans or ranch style beans. I didn't realize that the beans would go on top of the pie. We went with ranch style. It was tasty, but I'd definitely leave out the beans. Why? Because the meaty goodness that's generally chili? It's brisket chili!! And that was a whole heap of goodness. Oh, and I'd put Fritos on top - gotta keep the crunchy crunchy! The ribs were a bit of a mixed bag. My first rib was delicious! Great outer crust, the meat was tender and delicious. My second rib was off the end of the rack and was fattier and not quite as good as my first, but still pretty good. I didn't love the brisket. It was average. The tell-tale smoke ring was firmly in place, but the brisket was nearing dry, and the crust was just meh. But the brisket sausage stole the show. It was wrapped in a pork casing, so some folks might not be able to enjoy it - shame! One of the gentlemen pit masters visited our table for a few minutes before scooting off to Taste of Dallas. We really enjoyed speaking with him - super nice, and you could tell he loved what he was doing. We really enjoyed speaking with him. All of the folks there were awesome. Oh! And prices were very, very reasonable. The gentleman we spoke with said that he wanted to keep prices low for the folks who live in the area - I think that's awesome. Sausage: Best I've ever had. Made with brisket of all things. I bought some raw/frozen to cook myself. Unreal! Brisket: Great flavor. Dry. Ribs: Great flavor. Dry. Sauce: KC sauce. Too sweet. Well....as I read the reviews here I pause and wonder why a place that is so good was completely empty on this Saturday at 2:00? Wait......I know why!!! Because anyone that knows BBQ is not eating here! Had the ribs and brisket combo. No discernible smoke flavor, tough, dry and lacked any spice. Had to salt and pepper everything including the beans. I'm not a fan of long, too thick fatty ribs or wimpy brisket with any bark. And the sauce......thin as water and too sweet....yuk! Came home...felt queasy. I feel when I went to Longorias BBQ it must have been an off day. However I would like to return and hopefully improve this review. I had a 3 meat plate consisting of the brisket, ribs, and sausage. I also had an extra order of bolo on the side. The sausage was pretty amazing and I appreciate a place so much more when they make it themselves. The brisket was a little dry but like I said I feel it was an off day. The ribs weren't anything too spectacular but they were good enough for me to consume most if not all of the meat. The bolo was awesome and extra points to them for actually carrying this product as it is one of my favorite smoked meats. Another awesome item they have is their very own beef jerky. Served in a sandwich bag, it's one of those things to me that shows how much they care because that is not an easy item to do on top of making sausage and barbecuing all kinds of other meats in general. I wish I could give 0 stars. The worst BBQ ever. I went today for late lunch. I got 1lb ribs. It turned out to be 3 ribs and a burnt end piece (really). Also got sliced brisket and chopped beef. The ribs were so burnt and tough the bones were burnt. They had no smoke flavor. Equally distasteful was the beef. Zero flavor punctuated by dryness and overall to tough to chew consistency. I have never written a receiving my life. This we so bad bad that I just had to...Ok I was so distraught my Girl called them to complain. We took the remaining back for a refund. read more

After reading an article in a magazine about this place .....sorry can not remember the magazine.... My husband and I decided to go. Sandwich was ok. I have had better, the meat had NO flavor. I will admit I did order the sandwich without sauce,however good meat should not need sauce to make it taste good. Sandwich was $6.00. Railhead is still on the top of my list of places to have good Barbeque, plus sandwich is cheaper. If your around and don't feel like making the drive to FTW, this place will do. read more
