We had family in town and were in the mood for a few drinks and apps. Bodega looked central to our locations (Cap Hill and East Denver). Tacos and margaritas for the win, right? Sort of. Margaritas were superb, if a bit pricey. I enjoyed all three on the sampler. The pineapple margs were the clear winner tonight. Gotta say, the heat in the watermelon marg was surprising, but I didn't notice except at first taste and toward the end. Food was hit or miss. Chile con queso: Interesting take. Queso was uninspiring, but filling. Probably needed 2x the amount of chips provided. Ceviche: Served on top of tostadas which got soggy. Should come with chips as served, aka ceviche nachos. Pastor taco: Tasty meat was overshadowed by hot, spicy adjuncts not listed on the menu. Not for everyone. Street corn: Prob the best item we had. We could have ordered another. Service was friendly, but they disappeared after our final round of drinks. I needed to go, but everyone was in the back cleaning, so I had to find someone to ask for the check. Three stars. This is a cute little venue, nestled in a corridor area of a hotel. Definitely has a nice five with an extensive drink menu and limited food items that look delicious. I have visited this location three times. The only thing that they can get right are the drinks other than that the food has been horrible. Unfortunately, due to either confusion or a language barrier has made it difficult to getting my orders correct. I definitely wish that I could have gotten this place right as it's convenient to the location that I frequently stay when traveling to Denver. I provide feedback and there's never a resolution with very simple fix of menu items. The gentleman who serves as the bartender as well as the server is not easy to work with. You would think that tacos would not be so complicated, but this restaurant has failed me as well as the patrons that I came to visit with. This venue does have a nice happy hour that they offer Monday through Friday. Seating, indoor and outdoor. Just can't get the food right sadly. There are a few other restaurants surrounding the venue but if you really want good Mexican, you're gonna have to go outside of this corridor area. I have officially given up. My friends and I went to Bodega Taco & Margarita Bar after a long day of networking across organizations in Denver, Colorado, for a school-led networking trek. The bar/restaurant was walking distance right across from the hotel we were staying in, so it was very convenient to get to since we were just looking for a nearby, fun environment to grab a little food on our last night in Denver. It was a very fun environment with good music, and they made a table large enough for our group, which was very nice for all be able to sit together in the back of the restaurant. However, the first thing we noticed was that we were the only people in there on a Friday night, when I would assume it would usually be fairly busy. We all shared chips and salsa as well as chips and queso. The queso was very good, and the salsa plate came with four different kinds of salsa (yet my tolerance could only take the classic red salsa). We each also ordered a small dish, and I chose to try the Street Corn, which was $8, so decently priced, I'd say. However, I did expect it to come with chips of its own, but it sadly did not. The corn dish was pretty good, but I barely finished half because it was drenched in different sauces. The service was decent, but definitely not great. As we were the only guests in the establishment, I thought the service would be much better, though we were waiting for at least 20 minutes for the check. Our server was very nice, yet the service provided could have been improved. Overall, it was a fun environment, and they had quite a large drink menu. If I ever find myself in Denver again, I don't think I will go back, but it is a decent place for a fun environment with friends. read more

I had a great time here and got some awesome margaritas and tacos. The margarita flight was great, having three different ones and I enjoyed them all. I think I liked the hibiscus one the most. The first one with the pepper in it had a little spice to it, which was interesting , and the watermelon one went down smoothly. I tried the chorizo taco (I recommend), the Chile relleno taco (also recommend), and the al pastor taco (it was also good, but I liked the other two better). I'd have gotten another drink if I could have stayed longer. The seating was nice and comfortable and the bar area also looked fun. The food and drinks came out quickly and the server was patient with the piecemeal ordering I did. I'll stop in here again for sure to try more. read more

I am disappointed how they handled a larger order for my office. We have ordered a few times from there with no hiccups until today. I put in the order online through their website and a coworker went to pick it up. The lady that handed her the order said she promised that everything was included and nothing was missing, so my coworker took her word. She got back to our office and we were missing someone's meal. The person that was missing it went back down to Bodega to explain that her meal was missing and the lady began arguing with her that everything was included in the bag. She showed her the receipt and when my coworker pointed out that there were 2 of the same thing on the receipt and only 1 was in the bag, the lady working stated, Oh that is how it was missed since it is was on the bottom. Does they mean they miss everything that is on the bottom of people's receipts? I don't think this was handled correctly on their end. It is sad because they do have good food, but if the service is like this then we can take our office order elsewhere in the future. Overall I think the experience was fine however I felt the price of the tacos were a bit excessive especially for what you got. The shrimp tacos I got had only two small pieces of shrimp and cost around $6 which is quite steep if you ask me. Perhaps it's the area this restaurant is at but I just don't think I could justify coming here again when I know there are places that are cheaper and tastes so much better. I also got their margarita which was good and prices were standard for that. Chips and salsa weren't complimentary so it just feels like they're just trying to squeeze every dollar they can onto the customers. read more

Ugh, I hate telling people about this place--don't want it to get crazy busy, but it is FANTASTIC. And I'm a snob. Fresh ingredients, made with care, stellar food. The combinations are divine. My favorite is shrimp taco, husband's is chorizo. I can't take much spice, otherwise I might say the chorizo also. It's not crazy hot or anything, beautiful flavor, just a little hot for me. Stopped at this place to get some drinks before heading to the Rockies game. I decided on the margarita flight which came with a hibiscus margarita(10/10), the signature bodega margarita (9/10) and a watermelon margarita (8/10). The watermelon margarita has jalapeño in it just as a warning. The flight was served very authentically pleasing. My husband got a michelada (15/10), this was by far the best Michelada he's ever had andddd it was like 40 ounces big. The best part about the visit was our waiter/bartender Neil. He was by far one of the nicest people we met during our entire trip to Colorado. He was also very knowledgeable about the drinks, talked with us to understand what we do and don't like to customize our drinks, very engaging and quick to get us whatever we needed. We got sit outside and even though it was hot it was nice under an umbrella. Definitely would return esp if Neil was behind the bar. read more

I had the asada, al pastor, and fish taco. My partner ordered the green chicken enchiladas. My steak was dry and tough. The al pastor is just pork chops finely diced, and my fish tasted like it was coated in pancake batter. The cilantro lime rice was not homemade. I'm sorry Bodega, I most likely won't be returning. I had lunch with my coworkers for the 1st time yesterday! Front of the house Employees lack of energy, not attentive at all, the two girls were more interested in having a conversation between them that taking cake of the customers. We changed tables and it took them close to 10 min to pick the dishes from the dirty table and never came back to clean it for us... little things that make a difference especially in such a competitive market of restaurants.
