I am from New York City and extra picky about food in general as I was once married to a chef. More importantly, my husband is half Turkish and our family members live both in the US and Turkey. We eat mostly homemade Turkish foods at family gatherings and holidays. It is one of my favorite cuisines in the entire world and one of the most healthful-which makes it a guilt free pleasure. We are in the process of moving to the Venice area and think this is one of the very best Turkish restaurants we have ever been to. We have visited multiple times during house hunting and while checking on our home build. Every experience here has been superlative, both during snow bird season and now in late August. We have tried a wide variety of the menu items and the quality of everything is perfection. We have also always had both friendly and competent service. Tansel was our most recent waiter and he represents the outstanding friendliness of the Turkish culture we know so well. His menu suggestions were perfect. We cannot believe our luck to be moving to such a friendly and beautiful place and to already have a favorite restaurant-the kind that used to be plentiful in NYC, family owned where the proprietor puts everything into an experience for his guests that represents his character and warmth. read more

Having recently visited Turkey, I was searching for a Turkish restaurant here in town. I am so glad that I found Bodrum! The food was outstanding (even would say it was better than that I had in Turkey) and the service was super friendly and very attentive. On my first visit, I run into a waiter who gestured me away with the back of hand and didn't speak when I asked for a table. However rest of the staff was friendly. On second visit, they were not able to bring extra yogurt for kids to the table (not on the menu). So service can probably be improved and food is not good enough to compensate for it. We dined here midafternoon on 1/10/24. The food, service and greek wine were excellent. The ambiance is very nice inside. Our first time here, to have lunch with friends who recommended we try this restaurant. A great experience-the "outdoor" seating arrangement is perfect-under a walkway that is covered for rain but still open to enjoy the sunshine and fresh Florida air. Three of us had the lunch wraps, salmon, falafel, and lamb. Portion was just the right size. The fourth person had the lamb chops as an entree-4 large ones. Complementary pita bread was fresh. Delicious food and service at Bodrum tonight. We called ahead and easily arranged our table for seven. Beginning with the call and throughout the meal the staff were kind and accommodating. We had the white bean salad and mezze platter to start, and I had the mahi mahi special for my main. We also had a bottle of red wine on special with our meal. My family and I came to Venice today for the first time from Ft. Lauderdale and came to have lunch at Bodrum Restaurant. I just have to say best Turkish food I have tried in a while. We were pleasantly greeted by our server, Dave, he was very attentive and pleasant. We ordered mezze platter, mixed grill and saganaki (deep fried mozzarella cheese), everything was outstanding. I especially liked the babaganush from the platter and the lamp chops. I have not used the word delectable because it has to be lived up to, but the food in this restaurant definitely deserves it!!!It is totally worth the drive and we will be back again!!! read more

First timer at Bodrum but will not be the last. A very nice experience with the cusine of that part of the world. Bodrum is a Port city in the Southwestern region of Turkey. Wife had chicken kabobs and I had Lamb, no need to say any more than the meals were superb well worth the time the chef took to prepare. Did not have room for dessert not even a share. Found my new restaurant! It is so cute inside. My server was so friendly and helpful. Everything on the menu looks delicious. Decided on the dill salmon pita which comes with side salad. It was perfectly cooked. You can get a larger portion of with rice and salad but the pita was great for lunch. Wanted to try the lentil soup but I was too full. This restaurant exceeded expectations. We got the sampler appetizer and a lentil soup to start. We were full at this point but really wanted to get the full experience. We got the special- filet kabob with truffle fries and salad. It was all delicious and cooked to perfection. Tansel, our waiter, was outstanding, attentive, and personable.
